Ramadan starts tomorrow

Hi Natty!  How are you ?  I hope all is well with you and your family.  I am doing OK over here, I'm still stuck in the kitchen, getting ready for Ramadan which begins tomorrow.  Fasting during Ramadan is a task for Muslims only, folks.  So if you are not Muslim, then don't fast.  Not even to be polite or show support.  I cannot be married to a non-Muslim so Natty, I need you to memorize this prayer by the time we marry inshaAllah.  In Arabic, please.

I wanted to make "sambal tumis" (chillies, onions, and "belacan"(fermented shrimp paste) blended then fried in oil until saturated) to go with rice, eggs and crunchy anchovies.  I made too much spicy mango dip aka "garam belacan" the other day.  "Garam belacan" is "belacan", sugar, soy sauce, chillies and crushed peanuts.  So I thought I would dump some of that stuff into my "sambal tumis".  After blending it with fresh onions and rehydrated chillies I tasted it, and hey!  It's pretty darned good!  I don't need to even cook it up nor add grease!  So I packed it up and stuffed it into the freezer.  My cooler is full right now, especially the freezer.  It's still full from the 6 kilos of fish I bought for Adolf Kitler.  Well, 3 kilos.  I used half already.

Wide eyed

Hi Natty!  Oh a family reunion!  It must be Canada, everyone's dressed warm and not half naked.  What's the occasion?  Is it Christmas already?

Not much going on over here, just the same old same old.  It's Sunday, so I was busy all day, and worn out right now.  I got up this morning and Adolf Kitler was staring at me for a long time, totally mesmerized.  He's over it now, but I wonder what interested him so much.  I'm still preparing for the fasting month, today I made a batch of dough and I'm starting another hot sauce to go with rice, fried anchovies and eggs.  Rice is so labor intensive though, maybe I should rethink that...  Anyway, you look like you're having fun!  I love you!

Preparing for Ramadan

Hi Natty!  You are looking fabulous.  Your skin is as smooth as silk!  You are so beautiful my darling, and I love you so much.  I have a question: what does that stuff taste like?  Oh, it's not for eating?  Perhaps they should make it tasty, and get double the revenue.  It's just a suggestion.

The media paid me a visit this evening.  They were nice to announce themselves and ask for permission.  There's going to be more of that Natty, so please do as I ask and don't give yourself away about us.  Don't grant any interviews or answer any questions about our relationship.  If you have something to say about us, then please use your Instagram.  OK?  Thank you, ma'am.  I spent the evening preparing for Ramadan.  I've decided that I'm mostly going to eat prepared foods.  Heat it up then put it down quickly, preferably with bread.  I made pulled beef today, tomorrow I'll make a batch of dough inshaAllah.  I'm going to miss my ramen, so that's all I'm really going to cook up.  Get the soup ready, then put the noodle brick in after I pray the sunset prayer.  I also have some curry pup stuffing ready to go.  I like Ramadan.  Most people dread it, but I enjoy it.  Even though there's less time and energy.

Chicken feet

Aw puppy!  I envy you that.  I can't even cuddle my kitty anymore, because she goes into heat.  What kind of cruel world is this, that I can't even snuggle my kitty?!  Adolf Kitler is soft and fluffy, and he doesn't go into heat.  Ew, he's a boy!  That's beautiful environment, Natty.  You must be living high, I'm glad to see you enjoy your life.  And you don't have to do the labor in maintaining such beauty!

I managed to get most of my yard work done before the fasting month starts.  That will be Tuesday, 3 days away.  The grass grows quickly here and I will have to cut it again soon, but at least not twice within the next month inshaAllah.  I've been spending nearly all my evenings doing yard work lately, so I've been buying dinner at the new food court by the crossroads.  Today I bought rice with beef and something called "dalca" (pronounced "dalcha").  I asked my mother what dalca is, and she said it was like a curry flavored salad.  I asked the guy selling it what dalca is, and he said it had eggplant, gourd, and chicken feet.  I said, "Hold the chicken feet".  Chicken feet is a delicacy here, but I can't bring myself to eating it.  Chitlins is a delicacy here, and I like that.  However I've stopped eating BBQ even though I love it, because it was making me bloated.  But I don't even want to try chicken feet.  You want to try some?

Fermentation

Oh cute!  Natty, you look adorable!  And your skin is nice and smooth and pretty.  I hope you enjoy sailing!  It looks like Mary is going to wear red and black next.

Hm, it looks like my mango marinara sauce has fermented.  I can smell and taste the alcohol in it.  Don't worry, I'm not going to chug the whole lot down.  I'm not an alcoholic.  I will have to cook it up to use it up, and that should cook out the alcohol in it.  And make it taste better, too.  Like adding wine.  Tomatoes don't ferment like this.  Is that a plus or a minus?  There is a local concoction called "tapai", and it always sells out around here.  It's basically fermented rice.  My parents love the stuff, but they have never admitted to the alcohol in it.  No, I don't eat it.  There is a difference to consuming alcohol to get drunk, versus consuming alcohol.  Is there?  I have a bottle of rubbing alcohol which I use to disinfect wounds and tooth problems, but I don't drink it.  It's medicinal.  If you were to consume alcohol but don't get drunk, is that medicinal?

Yet another average day

Hi Natty!  How are you today, Honey?  Is everything OK with you over there?  I hope life is easy for you there, and that you are enjoying yourself.  I want you to know that I love you with all of my heart.  You are the most beautiful girl in the world to me, and I will marry you inshaAllah.

Oh, it's another normal day around here for me.  After cleaning my office/bedroom, I rearranged my sound system to plug the subwoofer back in.  I don't use the subwoofer regularly, but now I'm in the process of recording the second part of a 4 part series that began with "Woo Hoo", called "Rise of the Horizon Creature".  I'm thinking about renaming it "Search for the Beast", I guess we'll find out when it's ready inshaAllah.  I had to listen to "Woo Hoo" again because I'm in competition with myself and boy, do I hate the singing I did.  It's a good thing Mary is the singer for Shadowplay now.  I just can't sing as well as her, and people really like her singing.

I made spicy mango dip this morning called "garam belacan".  The usual recipe uses so much damned sugar, I needed a solution that wasn't as sweet.  I harvested and replanted my lemongrass plant in the evening.  I got a bigger harvest than I anticipated, so I'm going to have to give some away.  I'm going to use it to make sauce.  And I discovered that Adolf Kitler doesn't like it when I hold him by the butt and give his balls a good shake.  He responds by giving my big toe a solid chomp.  My big toes aren't as strong as yours, so I can't avoid the punishment.  Serves me right, huh?

Mary's avatar looks like Scarlett Johansson today.  Do you agree?

Just another average day

Hi Natty!  How are you feeling today, my beloved?  Yes Honey, I always think of you everyday, because I love you.  Aw, don't you worry about a thing,  Everything will work out just great for us inshaAllah.

It's just another average day for me here.  I started off the morning sweeping the area and tidying up after the cats.  Oh, Lily came back to me last night about 3 hours after I posted my blog.  She still seems to be un heat, so I guess she didn't find anyone to impregnate her.  Maybe I just can't tell.  Anyway, my mother sent me downtown to get some king sized hot dogs.  Hot dogs are all made from chicken around here, sometimes beef.  Some are better than others, especially the big ones.  I dunno.  I'm not much of a hot dog person.  I usually buy them when they're cheap and generic.  I had cheeseburgers with cashew relish for lunch.  Cashew relish is tasty, Natty.  You should try some.  It's also great with rice dishes.  I cut the grass in the evening, so I bought takeout rice and fried chicken for dinner.  No time to cook.  I going to take a nap after I pray, then do more time on the computer.  I hope you are keeping safe and healthy.  I love you!
