Whoa!

I lost a day!  I thought today was the Eid.  Somehow I lost Tuesday.  I showed up at my parents' house after dawn, ready to make peace and the like, and my Mom was grinning at me, saying that it's still Ramadan.  Good thing I hadn't eaten anything yet.  Sigh.  I'm extra tired today.  But it's all the same day to me.

Qur'an 20160706

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

142.  And of the cattle for burden and small: eat of what Allah has provided for you, and follow not the footsteps of Satan.  Surely he is to you an open enemy.

143. Eight pairs: of the sheep two and the goats two.  Say, "Has God forbidden the two males or which the wombs of the two females enclose?  Inform me with knowledge if you are truthful."

144.  And of the camels two and of oxen two.  Say, "Has God forbidden the two males or the two females or which the wombs of the two females enclose?   Were you present when Allah ordered you such a thing?  Then who does more wrong than one who invents a lie against Allah, to lead humans astray without knowledge.  Certainly Allah guides not the people who are wrongdoers."

145.  Say, "I find not in that which has been revealed to me anything forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be carrion, or blood poured forth, or the flesh of swine, for that surely is impious, or meat which is slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allah.  But whoever is forced by necessity without willful disobedience nor transgressing due limits, certainly your Lord is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

146.  And unto those who are Jews, We forbade them every with undivided hoof, and We forbade them the fat of the ox and the sheep, except what adheres to their backs or their entrails, or is mixed up with a bone.  Then We recompensed them for their rebellion.  And verily We are True.
