Basil

 
Hi Natty!  How are you, Honey?  Were you waiting for me?  I'm waiting for you!  I love you, Natty.  I hope things are easy going for you over there, and you are keeping safe and healthy.  It's a bit wet here today.  It kind of slowed me down, but I was able to get dinner done by sunset.  It's pasta again today!  Angel hair this time, but the sauce is home made.  I didn't have any basil at all when the year started.  Then a couple of rogue plants grew from dormant seeds in pots, so I isolated those in hope of getting seeds.  One of them grew big and leafy, so leafy that I knew I could make a good sauce out of one plant.  I bought tomatoes Monday, I finally got the chance to process them into sauce.  First I stewed the tomatoes and basil until they dried up and turned black.  Not burned, just black.  I kept them in the cooler until today, when I added onions, garlic, black pepper and a can of tomato soup.  Tomato paste would have been better, but there was none.  I got tomato puree instead which was cheaper than tomato soup, but the price was a lie so I bought tomato soup instead.  Blend it all together, and the sauce wasn't dark enough.  The taste is a success however, so I left it at that.  Want some?
