I hate cooking rice

Hi Natty!  What's up, Honey?  Are you enjoying the snow?  Of course you like the snow, you are a ski bunny!  Ooh, that's pretty cool art of you.  You are such a muse, and a martyr for love.  I love you, Natty.

Oh, how small we are.  Less than a grain of rice.  I hate cooking rice.  I don't mind eating rice, but I hate cooking rice.  Because nobody eats just white rice, you have to have it with entrees.  And that makes preparing a rice dinner very time and labor consuming.  Plus it generates so much trash.  I would rather just buy takeout rice, and let them deal with the labor and trash.  But I cooked rice for dinner tonight.  I had bought 2 kilos of boneless chicken breast this morning, and I cubed the whole lot.  Then I cooked some in my mother's "Sambal tumis" (blended chillies, onions and "belacan" (fermented shrimp paste) fried until the oil is saturated) to go with a pot of rice.  Unlike the video below, I only wash rice when there are bugs in it.  If you cooked rice without washing, then it's a straight 2:1 ratio of water to rice.  Easy peasy.  I don't use a rice cooker, either.  Mine blew up a decade ago, but I still use the aluminum pot and lid.  Just boil the rice on medium heat until the water reaches the level of the rice, then switch to simmer and put the lid on.  When there is no more steam coming out, turn off the heat and let it sit for 10 minutes.  That was it for tonight, just rice with one entree.  It took me the entire damned evening to cook, eat and clean up.  I hate cooking rice.
