The connection between the mind and the stomach

Hi Natty!  How are you feeling today, my darling?  I hope you are feeling healthy and confident, and having a fabulous time.  I'm doing OK, just sitting here trying to type out this letter, while I have a batch of beans cooking on the stove top.  I'm trying to write this letter, but Floofy is in heat right now and she needs a lot of hugging, cuddling and love.  I can't resist her, after all she is my kitty, I love her so much, and she's very soft and fluffy.

15 minutes later, she wouldn't let me put her down!  She's such a love cat.  Anyway, I have a batch of beans going right now, I'm about to make chili.  Chili is great for a small budget, especially if you know how to make bread, and it's very filling.  I'm going to add my "sambal tumis" (chillies, onions, and "belacan" (fermented shrimp) fried in oil until saturated) to give it heat.  I'm grateful that Allah taught me how to cook, however my stomach has become more sensitive.  I'm having trouble finding a tomato sauce that doesn't give me heartburn- does that mean I'm going to have to use fresh tomatoes to make sauce from now on?  I had sardines and rice for lunch today.  You know how sardines in a can come cooked in a tomato sauce.  That usually doesn't affect my stomach.  And this batch of "sambal tumis" is mild on the stomach.  But put the two together and I got heartburn so badly, and right before voice training too.  Good thing I had some sunflower seeds.  I don't know.  Maybe my "sambal tumis" isn't as great as I thought it was.  But it worked wonderfully with other foods I made...  😕  It must be the tomato sauce.  All ketchup gives me heartburn lately.  Except and only except when I eat it with fries.  😕
