The fridge rules the menu

Hi Natty Honey!  Wow, that's a pretty lake you have at school.  With nice, calm waters.  Is your heart and mind as calm as those waters?  I hope so.  But it's the modern world, and everyone's in a big hurry to go nowhere!  I had a very busy day today.  I left home as early as possible to pay some bills, bought some groceries, then spent a very successful morning in the kitchen.  The lite soy sauce I made turned out very close to the original.  The curry I made (after harvesting some coconuts) turned out awesome.  The fried rice I had for lunch, made with my lite soy sauce mix, was perfection.  But my food budget is still poor, and I have to make sure I use everything up.  There was still some "sambal tumis" (onions, chillies, and "belacan" (fermented shrimp) blended then fried in oil until saturated) left, and it had to be used up immediately.  I was thinking eggplant, so I had to go to the big supermarket on the other side of town, because it was almost sunset, and it was the only one selling fresh produce this time of day.  But eggplant was RM6.99 a kilo!  Yikes!  I was prepared to spend only RM4 a kilo for eggplant.  But tomatoes were RM3.79/kilo and hot dogs were RM2.79 per pack.  So that's what I spent my money on.  I made "sambal tumis hot dog with tomatoes and onions", with steamed rice.  Alhamdulillah.  I was having such a good day in the kitchen today, that my dinner was a success as well.  Very delicious.  Here's a snapshot of it.  You can see the hot dogs under the tomatoes and onions.
