Lily

Lily had another seizure at 11:30 pm last night.  I knew that that would be the death blow.  It was probably from the stress of being ill, a sickness caused by a seizure.  See how diseases stack up on another, Natty?  We always have to be on guard, and pray.

She seemed calm in the morning.  When I woke up, she was with her brother and she greeted me with a purr.  I guess she was saying "Thank you."  She stepped out into the cage where I keep the motorcycle, and found a place to lie down.  Her brother and I were beside her, and I asked him "Do you think she's going to pull through?"  He shook his head.  I tried in the morning to force feed her some fish and rice smoothie.  I got a little bit in her, but she fought me off.  I thought I would try again later.  It was warm in the morning, and she slept through it.  Then I had to work, so I brought her inside.  After I was done, I checked on her.  She was in cat death stance (on her side) and her whole body was shaking.  I quickly watered her and gave her some liquid vitamins that the vet prescribed.  She came to her senses, and went to stare at the water bowl.  I had more work to do, so I left the house.  Went I got back, she was almost dead again.  I watered her again, and tried to feed her.  But she was too far gone.  She fought me off, she wants to die, she's trying to will herself to death.  And that last resistance left her body quivering.  With a little bit of strength left, she tried to go outside.  Cats leave the house to die.  But I need her to pass away inside, so I know where she is to bury her.  I have a grave ready, by the mango tree.  So we are waiting for Allah to take her.  Tomorrow will be the one year anniversary when she and her brother came into my life, last Ramadan.  From Allah is our origin, and to Allah is our return.
