Kitten update

 

Happy New Year, Natty!  How are you feeling, Honey?  I hope you are having a fabulous time over there, mingling with the jet set.  Please make sure you keep safe and healthy.  I'm doing OK.  I suppose I should have a lot of hopes going into the new year but my prayers have been the same for a long time already, so I'm just going to take it one day at a time.  

Look at my kittens!  From left to right that's Anna, Helmut, Otto and Gunhilde.  You can tell they're already very active, but they aren't able to scale the walls of the crib yet.  They can hang onto the edge but can't get over it, so they start pleading and crying.  Lookie got tired of hearing them bawl, so she took them out of the crib some time after I took that snapshot.  Come feeding time, she realized that she had created a chaotic mess, so she went to put them back into the crib but it wasn't there.  I had washed it.  But by that time it had already dried, so I put a fresh towel in there then put the babies back in.  Later, Lookie looked at me rather sheepishly and I said, "Don't you even know what a cat is?"  No, I didn't say that.  I actually said, "Isn't it much easier to keep them in the crib?  When the time comes, they will crawl out of it by themselves!"  Below is a photo of my 7 cats, clockwise beginning with the nervous mother Lookie, then Helmut, Otto, Jane, Gunhilde, Anna and Adolf.
