Even more soy

Hiya beautiful Natty!  How are you feeling today, my precious darling?  How are your studies coming along?  I hope you are doing and feeling absolutely fabulous.  I'm still clearing up my front yard, it looks like it will be a while before I remove everything.  Moving earth is a challenge, because I protected the peat pots with wire mesh, and now they're all grown in.  But this morning I spent the morning in the kitchen.  I whipped up another batch of "sambal tumis" (blended onions, chillies and "belacan" (fermented shrimp) fried in oil until saturated).  I find it to be a great go-to hot sauce, you can put it in everything.  I'm confident you will get addicted to it as I am.  When we are married inshaAllah, I will make large batches of the stuff along with others like marinara sauce, dough, ranch dressing, sausage etc.  Hey, I don't want to spend my whole life in the kitchen!  You must learn how to cook!  I will teach you.  Anyway, I used up what's left of the soy meal from my soybean project.  I am determined to master the soybean.  So I tried making veggie burgers today.  Soybeans have a lot of protein in them, so they taste great when browned.  Trouble is if they are undercooked, they become bitter.  So it's either brown or nothing.  No, not black.  Adding flour to the batter feels like cheating, because I don't want to make cake.  So it's going to take some practice to get the right blend.  So that's what I had for lunch.  Veggie burgers.  Keep the salt low when dealing with soybeans.  But for dinner, I had the real thing.  Steak.  Yum.  Want some?
