Qur'an 20211222

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

51.  Say, "Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us: God is our Protector."  And in Allah let the believers put their trust.

52.  Say, "Can you expect for us other than one of two glorious things?  But we can expect for you either that Allah will send you punishment by God Self or by our hands.  So wait: we too will wait with you."

53.  Say, "Spend willingly or unwillingly.  Not from you will it be accepted, for you are indeed a people rebellious and wicked."

(The Repentance 9:51-53)

Movie night

Hi Natty!  Oh I'm sorry Honey, I wrote yesterday's blog on time, but for some reason it didn't publish until today.  I am quite annoyed about that, but what to do except say that I'm sorry.  I hope that everything is going great with you today, and you are healthy and enjoying your life.

Last night was movie night as well.  No I wasn't being lazy, I am a fashion magazine.  Rather, I don't watch enough movies.  But it takes a lot for a movie to catch my interest if it were not nostalgia.  I guess I had a more open mind when I was younger, or perhaps I didn't really care too much back then.  It's another action movie!  "No Time To Die" (2021).  I'm sorry Honey, you can choose a girlie flick and I will watch it.  I can't help but compare this movie with the previous Bond movie, "SPECTRE".  The previous movie was so good right until the climax, which got way too cheesy, and spoiled the whole movie.  "No Time To Die" is so much better.  It's still a little bit cheesy, but forgivable.  And the gadgets are back to being awesome!  I just wonder, why he did not use his wristwatch to purge the nanobots.  The humor is slight, but at least there's some.  And please, the villain has to be an ugly old man.  UGLY OLD MAN!  No more of these young or young looking bad guys!  I wonder who's going to be the next James Bond...

I've been thinking of how the Covid virus mutates into different strains, and how the latest strain dominates the infections while the other strains seem to disappear.  It's just the same old virus, but with a new set of weapons.  Since the virus can mutate into a more dangerous strain, perhaps a strain can be engineered to seek and destroy itself, and destroy the coronavirus altogether?

Movie night

Hi Natty!  How wonderful it is to see you again.  You are fabulously dressed, "immaculate casual".  Those are Doc Martens!  I used to have a pair of Docs, then I ruined them by wearing them to work at the pizza joint (I thought they were designed to be labor shoes?)  It was meant to be, I wore them while I could, my feet were size 9 then now they are at least 11.  Those are some beautiful plants, by the way.  Is that the Farm Girl you're with?  She grew those plants?  They are perfection!  Remember that color Natty, that dark green is what I call "well-watered green".  Just because you dump a lot of water on a plant, doesn't mean it will drink it.  The person who nurtured those plants is very talented indeed.  My mother thinks I have green thumbs, but only certain plants flourish under my care, the others refuse to live.

Tonight is movie night!  "Nobody" (2021) is an action movie.  Sorry Honey, you can choose a girlie flick and I'll watch it.  I didn't figure Bob Odenkirk to be an action star, but he's absolutely great at it.  This movie is almost like "The Equalizer"...  My favorite part is after Hutch takes down the gang of assassins that infiltrated his house, then he sits 4 survivors down on the couch, and forces them to listen to his life story as they slowly die.  Now that's a captive audience.
