Hi Natty!

Oh I'm so proud of you, my beautiful Natty!  Yes we have to be role models, and mostly in the spiritual way.  Don't leave that out!  Do what you can Natty, but keep yourself safe OK?  You are my wife inshaAllah, and that's a very important job I promise you.  I love you!

Yeah, I'm feeling much better today.  I think my body is getting used to fasting finally, and this new level of singing inshaAllah.  I suddenly have a craving for spaghetti.  So I went out shopping for the fixings for a nice and greasy spaghetti.  I have no time to make it during the day, so I'm going to have to work on it in the middle of the night.  Tomatoes are super cheap nowadays at the big supermarket downtown.  I make the sauce out of tomatoes, garlic, black pepper, cilantro and parsley but I also add a measure of tomato soup.  It's a runny recipe, I might have to strain the blended tomatoes.  The beef goes in while cooking.  I'll have to cook the noodles at night too, then put them in the cooler to eat for the pre-dawn meal.  I actually like them best that way, when they're cold and slightly dry then pour the hot sauce over them.  Oooh, I hope I don't overeat.  Want some spaghetti?

Dazed and confused

Hi there, my beautiful Ladies!  How are you feeling today?  There's a lot going on in America, I suppose.  Well I hope your emotions are in control, and you are having lots of fun doing business.  As for me, I am doing a little better today alhamdulillah.  Allah is being nice, and the weather has been nice and cool all day.  I got lots of sleep and I didn't have to labor in the morning.  Thus I gained a little strength, and voice training went very well.  No dropped notes!  Well, maybe one.  Dropped notes is a gauge of how exhausted I am, each dropped note is like missing a heartbeat, a step closer to death and joining the dead women I have to channel.  I did feel a bit agitated after voice training, I didn't know what to eat for breaking fast, and didn't really care either.  But I'm not as dizzy and wobbly as yesterday, I even cut the grass a little.  Usually I'm ready to go each year for fasting month, but this year is different somehow.  The singing is running me into the ground.  It's so damned serious.  But I feel better today, and I just cooked up some fried rice for dinner.

I'm thinner!  Does it look like I've lost weight to you?  I want to be a better clothes horse, just like Karl Lagerfeld.

Hi there, my precious Ladies!  How are you feeling today?  I hope everything is going great for you, and you are having a wonderful time.  Yes there is a lot going on, isn't there?  My dreams are crammed with information, recurring too.  I slept a lot last night.  This year's fast is different than before, it has something to do with the singing.  9 hours of sleep is a blessing alhamdulillah, but this singing is more laborious than ever before.  I guess it means I'm singing better and this is a time of spiritual awareness thereof, but it makes me feel like crap.  Just so drained.  I had to sleep more after the set.  Oh there was a 5 minute power outage today about 50 minutes into the set, folks.  Sorry about that.  It was only 5 minutes, but I had to reboot my computer and modem, then restart all the programs, then make sure my appearance onstage was acceptable.  Gotta be that professional girl, right?  After all, this singing is so damned serious.

Workin' on it

Hi Erin!  How's the charmed life of my beautiful American Princess doing today?  Can't stop laughing?  That's the spirit.  I'm still working on those Patsy Cline songs.  I have to admit that she's fun to sing.  She's a powerhouse though, and I'm so worn out from fasting right now.  I think I'm close to having a voice "like a dying swan", and while it might be pretty to listen to, it's not pleasurable to sing.  Right now I feel like garbage, but it's almost time to break fast so I'll be OK inshaAllah.  Did you see the latest episode of "The Voice"?  Everyone on Blake's team were all grinning and happy and shining, while the people on Adam's team were all gloomy.  I don't think most people would agree with me, but it's been an entertaining season.

Hi Natty!  Wow, you look as pretty as a picture.  Your hair is all perfect and oh so pretty.  I would take that photo and frame it, but your big brother is in it.  Happy Birthday big brother, by the way.  Tell him to go ahead and be a big ol' movie star.  Just don't be a fat one.

Hi Natty!  Congratulations on your earning your yoga certificate.  I'm sure you had lots of fun in Bali.

Oh, it's an average day for me.  I'm still very drowsy from the fasting routine, but it's no big deal.  We have to do this for one month every year, and it's great for one's health.  My singing actually improves when I'm fasting.  Not so much in skill and control, but the hunger, thirst and dry mouth all contributes to excellent tone, because I'm honestly hungry, thirsty, and dry mouthed, which translates to honesty in singing.  Oh, but I so desperately want that coffee in the afternoon!  I did a little bit of yard work, then picked some fruit in the evening.  Allah is the Power, and I have no power without Allah.  They're called "quinines", they look like mangoes but smell strong.  My Mom loves them.  I have a whole stack of computer work to do.  I have to arrange data, and I have to shop for my avatar.  Dollar dresses.  I got a tip thus I am able to shop, so thanks for the tip.
