Qur'an 20211024

 In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

158.  Are they waiting to see if the angels come to them, or your Lord, or certain of the Signs of your Lord?  The day that certain of the Signs of your Lord do come, no good will it do to a soul to believe in them then if it believed not before, nor earned righteousness through its faith.  Say, "Wait you: we too are waiting."

159.  As for those who divide their religion and break up into sects, you have no part in them in the least.  Their affair is with Allah.  God will in the end tell them the truth of all that they did.

160.  He that does good shall have ten times as much to his credit.  He that does evil shall only be recompensed according to his evil.  No wrong shall be done unto them.

161.  Say, "Verily my Lord has guided me to a way that is straight, the religion of right, the path by Abraham, the true in faith, and he joined not gods with God."

162.  Say, "Truly my prayer and my service of sacrifice, my life and my death, are for Allah, the Cherisher of the worlds."

163.  No partner has God.  This am I commanded, and I am the first of those who bow to God's Will.

164.  Say, "Shall I seek for Cherisher other than Allah, when God is the Cherisher of all things?"  Every soul draws on the meed of its acts on none but itself: no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another.  Your goal in the end is towards God.  God will tell you the truth of the things wherein you disputed.

Spaghetti Western

 

Hi Natty!  How are you?  I hope all is cool over there for you.  I made spaghetti for dinner for us but I guess you couldn't make it, so I ate the whole lot.  Are you mad at me?  I wanted it hot and spicy for a change, so I added green hot chilli peppers.  Lookie shared my spaghetti on your behalf.  She proved good at eating the noodles right out of the strainer, then sticking her nose into my plate.  She even likes the raw noodles.  Don't worry, Honey.  We'll have spaghetti dinner together someday, inshaAllah.

Instead of sharing my spaghetti, you can watch a Spaghetti Western with me.  I'm so glad this movie is on YouTube!  It's one of my childhood favorites.  "They Call Me Trinity"(1970)- that's the year the Beatles broke up!  The are at least 4 Trinity movies, but only the first 2 are any good.  After that Trinity got serious, and in a weird way.

Fried banana fritters

 

Hi Natty Honey!  How are you? Oh it's so exciting being you nowadays, huh supermodel?  That's because you're so beautiful, and I love you with all of my heart.  Please make sure you keep yourself safe and healthy OK!  Oh, there's not much going on over here other than the same old stuff.  I went and picked up my mother's prescription this morning, then I finally got around to making my ramen with the beef broth I brewed up a couple of days ago.  My ramen was OK, it came out mild but that's because I made extra care not to over-salt it.  It was also too busy, I guess I don't need fish cake and seaweed with beef broth.  Humph.  I've become so used to using fish, I guess I forgot that beef is a different animal.

I had spaghetti planned for dinner, then my Mom bugged me to get her some fried bananas.  I don't usually eat the stuff.  I don't dislike it but I can live without it, you know what I mean?  So any old recipe is the same for me, as you can see the video above.  But my mother lives and breathes the stuff.  She used to make it herself but the kitchen has taken its toll on her (that I can relate to), so I went to buy it for her from a hawker down the street west.  It turned out that I really liked it, so I went back and bought a bag for myself.  It was greasy and crispy.  I've tried fried bananas countless of times, but this one had that magic touch.  Otherwise I wouldn't have stuffed myself with it so much, that I had to cancel  my spaghetti dinner.  Even the cats liked it.  I was so full, it felt like I ate too much pizza.  Grease is gold!  I'm sorry if you had plans to come over and share my spaghetti with me.  Spaghetti for dinner tomorrow night, inshaAllah.  I would love to have you join me for dinner.

Craving pizza?

 

Hi Natty!  Were you waiting for me?  I'm sorry I got busy watching a video, so maybe I'm a few minutes late.  How are you today, Sweetie?  I hope you are healthy and having a great time.  It's nice and cool over here today, and I got lots of sleep.  I cut the grass in the evening, and I just had a burger and fries for dinner.  My meals have become so simple lately, because I've run out of time and I have so much to do.  Plus, I need to rest.  But my tummy loves the simple meals.  Are you craving pizza, Honey?  I have spaghetti on the menu for tomorrow evening, I was thinking of using the spaghetti sauce for pizza instead.  But no, I can't afford the cheese.  I'm afraid pizza has become a once-a-year event for me, when we celebrate the Great Pizza Day.  I have no desire for Pizza Hut nor Domino's which is my fault, since I can make my own pizza.  And pizza isn't the same without my Home Made Halal Beef Sausage.  Anyway, you are more than welcome to share my spaghetti with me tomorrow.  I love you!

Qur'an 20211021

 In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

147.  If they belie you say, "Your Lord is full of Mercy, All-Forbearing, and never will God's Wrath be turned back from people who are sinners."

148.  Those who worship others will say, "If Allah had willed, we would not have taken partners with God, nor would our fathers, and we would not have taboos."  Likewise belied those who were before them, until they tasted Our Wrath.  Say, "Have you any knowledge that you can produce before us?  Verily, you follow nothing but conjecture and you do nothing but lie."

149.  Say, "With Allah is the perfect proof and argument.  Had God so willed, God would indeed have guided you all."

150.  Say, "Bring forward your witnesses who can testify that Allah has forbidden thus."  Then if they testify, do not confirm them.  And you should not follow the vain desires of those treat Our Signs as falsehoods, and those who believe not in the Hereafter, and they hold others as equal with their Lord.

151.  Say, "Come I will rehearse what your Lord has prohibited you from."  Join not anything in worship with God, be good and dutiful to your parents, kill not your children because of want- God provides sustenance for you and them, commit not shameful acts whether secretly or openly, and take not life for Allah forbids it except for just cause.  Thus has God commanded you that you may understand.

Just an average day

 

Hi Natty! What's happening today, my love?  I hope you are doing and feeling well, and enjoying yourself.  It's just an average day here for me.  I got a haircut in the morning.  Then I stopped by the supermarket and picked up some frozen beef neck bones.  I'm tired of using a fish for soup stock, mostly because I find it tedious to separate the meat from the bones.  No matter how hard I try, there's always a fish bone in my soup.  Beef bones don't have much meat on them usually, but it's easier to separate them from the soup.  It's also a different flavor, but I need to beware how much salt I put in it.  Let's see, I think I paid RM9 for 8 bones.  I usually pay about RM1 or so for one fish.  Although I might miss looking at the guy's face when I buy just one mackerel, I think beef bones are a better deal because I can use them again.  I just got done simmering the broth for Friday's ramen.  Ramen is such a serious procedure for me!  Anyway, gotta go.  I love you!

Qur'an 20211020

 In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

142.  And of the cattle are some for burden and some for meat: eat of what Allah has provided for you, and follow not the footsteps of Satan.  Surely he is to you an open enemy.

143. Eight in pairs: of the sheep a pair and of goats a pair.  Say, "Has God forbidden the two males or which the wombs of the two females enclose?  Inform me with knowledge if you are truthful."

144.  And of camels a pair and of oxen a pair.  Say, "Has God forbidden the two males or the two females or which the wombs of the two females enclose?  Were you present when Allah ordered you such a thing?"  Then who does more wrong than one who invents a lie against Allah, to lead humans astray without knowledge.  Certainly Allah guides not the people who are wrongdoers.

145.  Say, "I find not in that which has been revealed to me anything forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be carrion, or blood poured forth, or the flesh of swine, for it is an abomination, or what is impious on which a name has been invoked other than Allah's.  But if a person were forced by necessity without willful disobedience nor transgressing due limits, certainly your Lord is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

146.  And unto those who are Jews, We forbade them every with undivided hoof, and We forbade them the fat of the ox and the sheep, except what adheres to their backs or their entrails, or is mixed up with a bone.  This in recompense for their willful disobedience, for We are True.
