Some good news and some panic

 

Hi Natty!  How are you today, Sweetie?  Are you having a blast on the Crazy Carousel?  That's because you're so pretty, and you're MY girl!  And I love you with all of my heart.  It's all kitten energy in this house today.  I woke up with some good news: I saw my preemie suckling on his mother's milk!  I took a snapshot:

Damn, I need a better camera.  Remind me to get one of those high-end cellphones with an awesome camera system someday.  Anyway, I thought that he was going to be consuming his mother's milk from then on, so I put the goat milk in my batch of dough.  Yeah I asked the guy at the pet supply store for kitten formula, and he gave me goat milk.  It didn't seem to bother the kitten though, so I guess it's OK.  Anyway again, the preemie didn't feed again the whole day.  You know how it is with kittens, feed every 2 hours on the dot.  His mother started meowing at me with that concerned tone.  So at 5 pm, I went back to the pet supply store and this time I got something labeled as "Cat and kitten milk".  This stuff is made out of lactose-free cow's milk.

Yes, my kitten is a boy!  Since he was such a survivor the first day of his life, I named him "Rambo".  This means that he will get into trouble with his father as he grows up, probably even at a very young age.  Even if he got fixed, he would still get into trouble with his father.  Adolf is very territorial, the most territorial cat I've ever known.  Well, Rambo is still a preemie so let's pray that he does get to grow up.  We'll have to take it day by day.  Here I took a snapshot of him:

I wish I could show you how cute his little face is, but it's hard to hold a camera in one hand and a squirming kitten in the other.  I need both hands just for the squirming kitten.

The other good news is that my pickles are ready to eat!  And they are perfect!  They won't be perfect in a few days though, so we better eat them all now.  Want some pickles, Natty?

 In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

51.  The answer of the believers when summoned to Allah and God's messenger, in order that he may judge between them, is no other than this: "We hear and we obey."  It is such as these that will attain felicity.

52.  It is such as obey Allah and God's messenger, and fear Allah and do right, that will win.

53.  They swear their strongest oaths by Allah that, if only you would command them, they would mobilize.  Say, "Swear you not.  Obedience is reasonable.  Verily, Allah is well-acquainted with all that you do."

54.  Say, "Obey Allah, and obey the messenger."  But if you turn away, he is only responsible for the duty placed on him, and you for that placed on you.  If you obey him, you shall be on right guidance.  The messenger's duty is only to preach the clear.

55.  Allah has promised to those among you who believe and work righteous deeds that God will, of a surety, grant them in the land inheritance as God granted it to those before them; that God will establish in authority their religion, the one which God has chosen for them; and that God will change the fear of theirs to one of security and peace.  They will worship God and not associate any with God.  If any do reject Faith after this, they are rebellious and wicked.

What a day!

 

Hi Natty!  How are you today, Honey?  I hope everything is easy going for you over there, and you are having a splendid time.  Whew!  My day started early today.  Lookie went into labor at 4 am, and her kittens were premature and didn't survive.  Except one: it came into this world gasping for air, but it didn't die.  However it refused to suckle, so I spent until 10 am on my stomach or my hands and knees coaxing it to grab onto a nipple, but it didn't.  The mother was hysterical, so I had to console her as well, and get her to lie on her side and not give up.  It was raining, so I couldn't go anywhere.  Eventually both I and the mother gave up and reckoned this baby to be doomed.

But as yet, it refuses to die.  So when the rain stopped, I went to the pet supply store and got some kitten formula.  I moved the preemie to a new box and rags in my bedroom, and fed it every couple of hours.  Alhamdulillah, it took the food and seems to be stabilizing.  Lookie wasn't aware yet that the kitten was still alive.  She was howling and crying, and took inside the closet looking for kittens, finally giving up and passing out in there.  Adolf went inside the closet and stayed by her side (they never sleep together).  Eventually it was time to reunite Lookie and her baby, so I brought her into my bedroom.  The baby still wouldn't suckle, but it needed its mother and vice versa.  The mother provides warmth and attention, and the baby helped calm the mother down from her emotional meltdown.  I'm pretty wiped out myself.  You should see Lookie meow and purr at the baby in a most tender way, she's always talking to the baby, and very gently.  Perhaps the baby will take to mother's milk in the future inshaAllah.  What I need is sleep.  I also need to feed the Zam, so I'll probably get around to that when I get back from the mosque after the night prayer.

ALM still crashes on Second Life, so I took Mary's snapshots on Black Dragon.  It's slow, but it works.

Hi Natty!  How are you , Honey?  Are you having lots of fun being you?  You are the most beautiful girl in the world to me, and I love you with all of my heart.  It's Monday here.  I had a lot of food to process, and that's what I did all morning.  Besides all the vegetables I got yesterday, I also had to make a fresh batch of roast beef.  Beef goes a long way Honey, because a little bit of beef goes a long way.  I am myself a carnivore, there's absolutely no way I could be a absolute vegetarian.  Yes, I've had soy meat.  It's no substitute.

I had a tough time getting full body shots of Mary's avatar.  Apparently, Second Life updated their rendering system.  I don't know if that were the cause, but Advanced Lighting Model crashes when I try take full body snapshots.  ALM works fine for headshots and upper body.  You can see the difference below.  It's a strange situation, and I hope it doesn't persist.

Just an average day

 

Hi Natty!  How are you today, Honey?  I hope everything is going well for you over there, and you are having a marvelous time.  It's Sunday here today, and it's just another average day.  I always clean my mother's bedroom every Sunday morning.  I saw on her vanity that she just bought some perfume online.  Victoria Secret "Bombshell".  Way to go, Mom!

I'm so pleased that I managed to get a great deal on some vegetables!  I happened to score cabbage, carrots, eggplant, okra and baby cucumbers for only RM5!  That's 5 kilos of veggies!  What a deal.  I'm going to pickle all those cucumbers, then fry up all the eggplant in lots of grease and freeze them.  Cabbage and carrots last a while without freezing, but the okra is tough to keep.  I'm going to have to use the okra up first.
