Coffee!

 

Hi Natty!  Are you excited?  Are you?  Are you?  I hope you are having an awesome time being you right now, and please take good care of your health and safety OK!  Oh, there's a Starbucks in town now!  Yes, Starbucks has a building of their own out here in the sticks.  I haven't had Starbucks in 14 years!  I really do miss it, I use to drink it daily.  But now there's a Starbucks here, so I can get the right coffee for my Honey when she wants it.  Although drinking too much coffee is bad for your kidneys.  They even scowl at me the same way as America when I asked for a large coffee!  As you can see, I gave my name as "Coffee".  Starbucks is so much better than the stuff I drink now, and stronger too.  I only drink one cup of coffee a day, that's my cup in the photo.  But I was so wired during Mary's session today.  Yes!  She didn't put me into a coma!  That was nice for once.  And I still have a lot more coffee left.

I don't when I can drink it, though.  Ramadan starts tomorrow, and I will be fasting everyday for the next month inshaAllah.  There are optional prayers to be done, but I will be doing them alone because I have so much other stuff to do, and they take forever at the mosque.  Well, a long time.  My menu for Ramadan is going to be quick and simple, and high protein.  For tomorrow morning, my meal is going to be spaghetti.  I made my own sauce a couple of days ago, just basic tomato puree, tomatoes, garlic and onion.  Not even any herbs, I didn't have any.  You don't have to fast Honey, because you're not a Muslim yet.  Fasting during Ramadan is a task mandatory only for people who call themselves Muslims.  This goes for all you other folks out there: if you're not a Muslim, don't fast.  Not even to be polite.

Beans!

 

Hi Natty!  How are you?  I hope everything is going great for you, and you are feeling fantastic.  I'm feeling a bit tired, that's because I just got done cutting the grass.  Good thing I had something quick and simple for dinner: beans!  Yeah, I'm a cowboy!  There must hundreds of recipes for chili on YouTube.  I cooked my beans in the drippings of my roast beef, then added a few spoons of my home made hot sauce.  Just the beans, ma'am.  No beef, onions, tomatoes or whatever.  When the batch was done I portioned it out and kept it in the freezer.  So all I had to do for dinner today was have a portion defrosted then let it reheat while I showered, with a few chunks of my roast beef in there.  So easy!  So speedy!  Yes Honey, evenings have become so short.  Quick meals are the only way to fit in any yard work.

Fish head curry

 

Hi Natty!  Oh, sorry I'm running late again.  I didn't go anywhere.  Google updated Chrome and it messed with my Second Life viewer, so I had to get that all straightened out.  How are you?  How's business?  Lots of excitement in the Society?  We've only just begun, Honey.

I had a chance to buy a big old fish head in curry, so I did.  I love fish heads!  This one is a Crevalle Jack, and no I didn't get any feathers in my meal.  I hardly ever buy fresh fish anymore, I just can't be bothered with the labor of processing it.  So I just buy what's already cooked.  If I wanted to make sushi though, then I would have to get a fresh fish.  I'll just wait until I make dinner for us.  I'm sure you like sushi.  I love sushi, and when you're with me inshaAllah, I'll make you do some of the labor.  OK?

The first I do with fish head curry is to get it out of the curry, and into my favorite iron plate so I can separate the meat from the bones.  I also take this time to snack on some of the parts like the lips and the meat behind the eyes.  That's the best part!  You must try it!  When the bones are gone, I put some aside for the kitty.  I douse my rice with the curry, and add the fish meat in.  And I always eat rice with a fork and spoon.
