Hi Natty!  How are you, Honey?  How's business?  I'm sure you're going to do absolutely great inshaAllah.  Just don't stop, OK?

I took my mother to the hospital early this morning, then I had takeout rice for lunch.  Today is Friday, so I had to attend Friday prayer.  Humph, days are moving really fast for me.  It's like the world is spinning faster.  But that makes sense when you're old.  Like I explained to my Mom, a year is half his life to a 2 year old while a year is 1/100th of his life to a 100 year old.  I guess it's basic relativity.

Anyway, I went to Elle again but I didn't find anything interesting there.  It's not as if they didn't have any fashion photos, there just wasn't anything worth my time.  I suppose they keep the good stuff for print.  But I don't bother with paper anymore unless it's my taxes, because I need a hard copy for myself.  Otherwise, I'm pretty much all digital.

Hi Natty!  How are you today?  I hope you are all happy chippy and having a darned good time.  Please keep safe and take care of your health!  It's been a busy day for me.  Mary had to start late today because I had to take my Dad to the hospital.  When I was done, I went and got Mary, and she was asleep.  She started singing at 11:30 pm PST and sang for an hour, then we took a break and did a second set at 1:30 am PST.  Mary doesn't like to take long breaks.  She says it's because she has to warm up all over again, and she would rather do 2 hours straight.  Well, you shouldn't have eaten all those curry pups during your break, Sweetheart.

I think I've run out of fashion magazines referred by Google.  Other than the men's magazines.  Ew!  So I called that a revolution, then went back to Vogue.  I didn't see any fat models!  Hooray!  I found a nice long denim dress by Chanel:

Mary's outfit today has a short skirt.  I think it's too short, and looks silly rather than sexy.  I would prefer the hem to be at least mid thigh, that would make the outfit more elegant.  The credits are:

Light and resfreshing

 Hi Natty!  How are you feeling?  Do you miss me?  I miss you.  I love you, Natty.  So please don't feel sad, and enjoy your position as Mrs. Rock Star.  Have some fried rice!

I've been really into fried rice lately, because my tummy really likes it.  There are so many versions of fried rice on this planet, so many bad versions.  I believe in the "light and refreshing" approach.  Have you noticed that some foods have such strong flavor that you don't need salt to taste it?  Like fresh broccoli tastes like broccoli.  Fresh tomatoes taste like tomatoes, and so on.  So I dump these vegetables in last so that the fried rice has a salad effect to it.  Today's fried rice had broccoli, tomatoes, and green onions for the raw items.  I cubed the tomatoes, the broccoli I separated into tiny florets, and the leafy part of the scallions I gave a fine cut while the bulbs I cubed.  The stems of broccoli I chopped along with the garlic and fried in a tablespoon of oil.  Oooh, I needed meat otherwise my heart would bitch at me.  All I had today was paratta bread, so I cut up some of my generic roast beef into the wok.  When all that was nice and browned, I put in the white rice and broke it up.  Leftover refrigerated rice makes the best fried rice.  Then I put soy sauce in for color.  Just color, not flavor.  For flavor you need some MSG, in this case a sprinkle of anchovy bouillon.  Stir that up real good, then make an opening to fry up an egg.  While the egg was cooking, I squeezed some lemon juice on the rice.  When the egg is done, chop it up with your spatula (I just use a dinner spoon), and mix it up with the rice.  That should complete the rice part of the fried rice, and the rice have enough flavor, so don't add all sorts of shit to make it heavy.  Mix in the raw veggies, and serve.  In the snapshot above I used dried fried onions and salted radish to garnish.  I think you would like my fried rice, Natty.  Lookie was climbing all over me to get some.  Good thing Adolf was outside.  Oops!  I ate the whole wokful.  It was so light and refreshing.

Last night, I visited Seventeen magazine.  Google considers it a fashion magazine, so I went there.  I didn't see anything interesting though, other than a couple of pretty young girls making out with each other.  The credits for Mary's outfit today are:

Hi Natty!  How are you today?  I hope that everything is going nice and smoothly for you over there.  I'm doing OK over here.  I just had my dinner, then came back from the mosque after the sunset prayer.  Oh there's nothing special on the menu.  Just takeout rice for lunch, and leftover noodles for dinner.

Tonight is movie night!  Gangs of New York (2002).  I'm sure many people would agree with me that Bill the Butcher stole the show in this movie.  Everyone else pales in comparison.  Oh yeah, the movie is nice to look at as well.

Last night, I went over to a fashion magazine called Fashion.  Yes, there's a fashion magazine called Fashion.  It's from Canada!  Doesn't that give you a heart warming home feeling, Natty?  I didn't see you in there though, just a bunch of fat models.  I didn't see any interesting items of fashion, neither.

I'll have to admit that I love this dress on Mary's avatar!  It's so pretty, and it totally suits her:

Fried chicken

 

Hi Natty!  How are you today?  Are you hungry?  I had a craving for fried chicken just now.  Of course I can fry it up myself, but the process is so time consuming and messy.  So much waste, too.  You can't reuse the oil.  It's so much simpler to just go and buy it at the night market, so that's what I did.  The whole world has fried chicken on its menu, and the recipes go from great to crappy.  When it's great, the chicken has crispy skin, tasty spices, and tender flesh that's cooked all the way through, plus piping hot.  The chicken I got was pretty good.  It could have had a couple of minutes less time in the fryer, and it could have been fresh out of the hot grease.  But I got my fix, so I can't complain.

Last night, I went over to W magazine.  It had a huge fashion spread, which is always nice, but I only found one thing I liked.  I didn't see any fat models, though.  Thank God!  Down with obesity!  I'm not too fond of the platform hi tops, but the dress is gorgeous.
