Singin' against the wind

 Hi Natty!  How are you today, my beloved?  I think you are doing well.  It's a crazy world but you can cope with it inshaAllah.  I think the tears have dried up, but you might be a bit too serious.  Well, I get too serious too.  But God will test us and our faith.  If God loved us, then God would test us.  If God loathed us, then God would leave us be until it's too late.  Ha ha I say all that like I got it all figured out, but I'm on the edge just like everyone else.  I want you to know that I love you with all of my heart.

Oh no, tofu doesn't freeze!  I discovered that today.  Instead it turns into something like a wet bath sponge.  It's still usable, maybe to make fake beef or something.  Or like yuba bean curd.  Humph.  I guess when I buy fresh tofu, I'm going to get  fresh tofu, fermented tofu, and shriveled tofu.  But at least I don't have to buy yuba.

In today's Venice Beach Boardwalk video, the homeless encampment numbers and locations are about the same.  Minus the people that got chased away to make room for the rooftop concert.  The music sounds public domain to me, "clipart music".  I didn't know he wrote that stuff.  Are you people sure that's Megan Fox?  Looks kind of like Mary Unknown7 to me...

Mary told me that she was singing against the wind today.  I wonder what she meant by that?

Hi there, beautiful Natty!  How are those emotions today?  I bet your heart is nice and calm right now because really, you are a resilient girl.  So don't worry Honey, you're going to do just great.  Keep on practicing on that cool, for it comes in handy with sales.  Being patient is an all-around remedy for all situations, in fact it's the next best thing to perfection.  Hm, it's already 2021 and I'm 55 years old.  I released "Woo Hoo" in 2017, so that means I'm already 4 years into the next album.  I thought if I took it slow, I would give myself time to accumulate the musical instruments I need.  But not with this crummy budget of mine.  I need a fretless bass for 2 songs and after saving up, I can finally afford to get one.  Meaning that I buy the cheapest bass I can find then convert it to a fretless.  I was reading the Qur'an some time ago, and I got the feeling that God was telling me to hurry up with the music.  My budget means that I have to build my own instruments so if I don't use a fretless bass, then I can speed things up a little.  So I decided to play the fretless parts with a regular bass, that way I can move on to the drums, which is easier to build.  I hope I don't regret this decision.

In today's Venice Beach Boardwalk video, I see less encampments especially toward the south.  The line seems to be the La Fame building.

Hi Natty!  How are you today, my beloved?  How are you feeling?  Don't you worry Honey, everything will turn out just great for us inshaAllah.  Just relax and enjoy being you.  I love you!  I spent the evening pruning trees in the yard.  I had to do it quickly so I can cook dinner and eat it then shower then blog before the sunset prayer.  I got more done than I anticipated, but I'm kind of hyped up at the moment from the exertion.  What are you having for dinner?  I would share my dinner with you, but I made a mistake with it.  I had ramen for dinner.  I usually have ramen for lunch, but I had to finish the beef broth before it turned.  I've been eating other foods recently, and haven't gotten around to using up this broth.  I guess life has been more luxurious for me than I could see, food-wise that is.  It turned out that the broth was slightly moldy, so I couldn't share my ramen with anyone.  I ate the whole thing, though.

In today's Venice Beach Boardwalk video, it seems there are less encampments that the previous video I posted.  However the encampments are more spread out to the south, with less tents on the beach.

Spaghetti again?

Hi Natty!  How are you, Honey?  I sure hope that you are feeling great, and everything is wonderful and easy for you.  You are MY girl, and I love you!  Busy day over here for me, lots of running and standing around in the morning.  So in the evening I took it easy, and just focused on my dinner.  It's spaghetti again!  Do you know how to boil perfect spaghetti?  Gordon Ramsay is a chef, so he has to add stuff to it but I just use water and pasta.  Tomatoes were on sale at the supermarket yesterday.  They were pre-bagged, some were firm and others were soft.  No big deal, none of them were rotten.  I just turned the soft ones into marinara sauce.  It's a simple sauce, just tomatoes, basil, garlic, black pepper, salt, sugar, and a little bit of tomato soup (cheaper than tomato paste).  Yeah I planted the basil a little early this year, so I will have a bumper crop in time for the Great Pizza Day!  You still haven't told me your favorite pizza toppings Honey, please do so.  Anyway, it was an average but successful spaghetti dinner, even though the cheese was melted sliced cheese.  Damned budget!  Want some spaghetti?

Today's Venice Beach Boardwalk tour has about the same number of homeless encampments as the previous video.  There might be a few extra tents closer to the water's edge.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

 Today is my mother's birthday!  She is 83 years old.  I love you, Mom!

Oh Natty, you still look somewhat sad to me.  My poor, precious babygirl, I love you so much.  You're making me sad too.  I can see that you're trying to turn that frown upside down, so I will try too.  You are MY girl, and I long to be with you always.  Please enjoy the time you are having now, being a Rock and Roll Princess.

I really would like to continue posting this guy's video here on my blog, but sometimes he gets skanky and irrelevant.  I supposed he's bored with only doing video tours of the Venice Beach to Santa Monica Boredwalk, but that's the only thing I want to see.  What I'm interested in is the situation of the homeless encampments along the Boardwalk.  For the most part, the only thing I would comment on is the change in the number of encampments as I sense it.  Today's video seems to have more encampments than the previous video.

 Hi Natty!  How are you today?  I hope everything is calm and happy for you.  I hope that business is enjoyable too, try to have fun with what you do.  Now when you dispense charity, I prefer that you do it in secret.  This is because you are too darn pretty!  I am doing OK over here.  It's been a garlic kind of day for me.  I made stuffed won tons to go with my chilli garlic sauce for lunch.  Boy, that stuff is powerful.  I think you would like stuffed won tons.  They're very dainty.  I love them, but I need at least 50 of them.  Dinner was ramen in the beef broth I made the other day.  I put garlic in that, too.  So I can still taste the garlic from the entire day.  It's a pleasant aftertaste, but it's a good thing I haven't spoken to anyone today.

This person makes really good video tours of the Venice Beach to Santa Monica boardwalk, and keeps quite current with it too.  I think I'll post this regularly for now inshaAllah, because I'm curious to see what happens to the homeless.

Bloated

 

Hi Natty!  How are you feeling today, Honey?  Don't worry so much my love, just enjoy the time you are having.  Most people who have their own business have a lot of extra time in the early years, so please try not to gain weight.  I'm bloated today!  Ugh!  I overate, twice.  I like my own cooking, Allah gave me some knowledge in cooking alhamdulillah, but today I overate.  I had rice with sunny side up eggs and crunchy anchovies and sauce for lunch.  I also made some home made chilli sauce, no sugar!  The stuff is pretty strong, I put a lot of garlic in it, but it was a success.  I dipped my fries in it for dinner.  I'm so stuffed!  I also made a steak and cheese sandwich (with mushrooms!), but I had to put that aside for a snack later when I get back into my Star Trek Voyager marathon.

Check out the video below, a guy made a video of his journey on an e-bike from the Venice Beach boardwalk to the Santa Monica pier last Sunday the 13th, so it's pretty recent.  There are still a few homeless encampments, but they're up north away from the main area.  These kind of videos make me nauseous.  Oh it's not the content but the visuals, I get the same nausea from modern video games, which is why I don't play many video games anymore.
