More feminine than thou

Howdy Bronco!  Let's ride!  Natty, your hat looks like it's getting smooshed up.  You're just too tall.  It's sure looks like you're having fun, like you're on tour or something.  It must be that crazy carousel again.  Natty, I know you are a firm believer of pushing your boundaries, but that philosophy is not something that can be imposed on small children.  Intellectually perhaps, but otherwise ages 0 to 6 years must be as stress free as possible, and boring boring boring.  No emotional or physical extremes, no unnecessary travel, no separation from parents.  When they become stronger then we can test their limits, but until then life must be as safe and stable with no surprises.  That is the ideal.

Recent events has gotten my thinking, what is feminine?  And that it's such a horse race.  What do you think is feminine, Natty?  This is probably a non-issue for you, but many people take it very seriously, and and many businesses thrive on the concept.  Fashion, for example.  It's not about beauty, but it could be.  Lily is in heat right now.  It's a silent heat this time, the only way I know is that her brother Adolf Kitler knows, so I have to keep a closed door between them at all times.  He's a beast, and that is his excuse.  Humans can rise above being beasts, but is femininity about attraction?  If anything, what's feminine attracts females as much as males.  Femininity is a competition, to be more feminine than thou.

Mary wants to join a band episode 6: not cut out for math rock?

Hi Natty!  That's a beautiful slideshow.  It shows how much you love this world, and you can see all the greatness in it.  You make me want to take good care of you, and do all I can so nothing bad ever happens to you.  You are truly, my better half.  I love you.

Yvette Young put this song out on YouTube, so Mary and I have been working on it for the past couple of weeks to try record a good vocal track, to show to Yvette.  Unfortunately she can't hit the high notes, and she's been in tears over it.  She said she feels humiliated.  Don't worry folks, she weeps all the time.  Everyday.  I told her, "If Yvette can hit those notes then that means she wants to sing it herself.  If anything, you can sing backup."  But Mary can't even do that.  If you folks hadn't noticed, she keeps terrible time.  You people don't hear it on your side of the stream, but I listen to her everyday singing along to the track coming out of the monitor.  Mary Unknown7 is an emotional singer, and what she does is stomp all over the music with her emotions.  I said to her, "You are a pop diva.  I don't know why you want to join a technical band like Covet.  If you really want to join a band, let's just find a more straightforward music that doesn't make you sing too many high notes."  She's really bummed out about this, folks.  But I'm going to pull the plug on this "Simple and Clean" project, and have her get back to studying more Ella Fitzgerald and Patsy Cline.

Mick Karn

Natty, you're so pretty!  Did you draw those yourself?  I have to agree with you that it does suit you.  Thank you, I love you.  Don't worry Honey, I'm not going to kill myself on purpose.  That's against my religion.

I was an 80's teen!  Do you want to see a photo of me when I was a teenager?  I'm sure you do.  It's a snapshot of an old snapshot, so it's definitely not HD.  I was a scoundrel back then, a nightmare to my parents.  I guess I'm still somewhat of a nightmare...

I just discovered Mick Karn this week!  Even though I grew up in the 80's, I'm surprised at myself that Japan flew past my radar.  I think it's because the mix wasn't bass heavy.  If the music had been just bass, drums and vocals like the following video, I would have surely caught on:

It's a cover, I know.  I'm in the process of producing the follow up to "Woo Hoo".  It's called "Rise of the Horizon Creature."  For "Woo Hoo" I did drums first, but for "Rise of the Horizon Creature" I'm recording bass first.  I wrote a couple of songs for the fretless bass.  I used to have a fretless bass, but I gave it away to the mosque while I was still in Tempe.  I'm sure that no one else but me cares whether the bass for those songs are fretted or fretless, but I need a fretless bass immediately.  And it makes a difference that I get it now as opposed to later as an item of luxury for a decrepit old man, because I'm not going to go back and redo the tracks.  Stay with the times, people.  Ya Allah, please grant me a good fretless bass quickly!

Ketchup

Hi Natty!  How are you today?  I hope you are well, and enjoying life.  Not much going on over here today, just the same old same old.  I made a fresh batch of my mango marinara sauce.  There are so many mangoes in the yard.  I think my next mango project is a mango smoothie.  Seems obvious and overly simple though, plus I don't eat smoothies, so I'll just make a small sample for show.  Try to impress my girl.  Maybe a mango and watermelon smoothie?  Oh dearest it's still a smoothie, and you're not here to drink it.  I got thinking of why my mango marinara sauce went great with chicken tenders, but not my home fries.  That's because it's not ketchup.  Whoever invented ketchup was a genius who spent a LOT of time in the kitchen.  I'm not going to bother making mango ketchup, I'll just go buy a bottle.  I have better things to do.  It's a good thing my home fries don't need ketchup.  Alhamdulillah.

Spaghetti with mango marinara sauce

Hi Natty!  How are you today?  How are you coping with life?  How's your health?  I pray you are able to handle being who you are without depending on drugs and alcohol.  I am able to put up with life and remain drug free, by the mercy of Allah.  I mean not just from substance abuse, but also from dependence on daily medication.  I sometimes take an antihistamine when I feel a sinus cavity infection coming, that's probably once every 2 weeks.  I try to survive from disease through an educated and common sense approach to what I consume.  I don't eat sugar, except for the Coffee Mate I put in my one cup of coffee everyday.  I'm not trying to be high and mighty, Honey.  Being Mrs. International Rock Star is tough enough, please don't add drugs and alcohol to your burden.  I have to admit that Lookie has been worrying me.  All those years of being cooped up in the house and being in heat has taken a toll on her, it didn't help having a mother who was a bully.  It got to the point where she couldn't stop the pee, but the vet gave her a prescription and she's much calmer and happier now.  The trouble is without the regular dose, she goes back to having pee problems.  Waaaah!  My kitty is a drug addict!  Alhamdulillah, there's a male cat in the house now.  Adolf Kitler is a great guy.  And he's soft and fluffy.

No tomatoes were sacrificed in the making of the spaghetti above!  Not even tomato sauce, paste, or ketchup!  I recently discovered that mango and red pepper makes tomato.  I used rehydrated chillies for today's example which made it super hot and spicy, but I like that.  Use red bell peppers if you like it mild.  There are a couple of caveats in using mangoes to make marinara sauce.  First, the mangoes not not be fibrous.  The local Harumanis mangoes have none of that annoying stringy fibers, that's part of its charm.  Second is that the mangoes have to be sweet and sour to match the tomatoes.  Mangoes have a habit of ripening from butt to tip, the butt being sweet while the tip sour.  This is especially true of Harumanis mangoes, so I used the ones that were not fully ripened.  How did it taste?  It tasted like spaghetti!

Fish

Hi Natty!  How's your crazy and glamorous life today, oh fabulous supermodel?  It's been a busy day for me, beginning 4 am.  Yet I had made plans to do yard work, but then a whole lot of fish came up and after that I got overwhelmed with laziness.  Or fatigue, if you will.

I took my mother to the hospital in the morning.  After that, we went to the market downtown.  I bought fish balls and fresh tofu for myself and that's what I've been eating all day, right now in fact.  Healthy food!  I did need to buy more fish for Adolf Kitler's food because male cats can't eat salt, so I went to the night market to see what kind of deal they had there.  6 kilos of fresh mackerel for RM 10!  Can't beat that, even in the old days.  The trouble is, I have no room in my freezer.  I have an ancient cooler that used to belong to my mother, I remember it from when I was 7 years old, which makes it almost 50 years old.  It still works great, so praise be to Allah!  Back in those days, they didn't think about building in obsolescence.  The freezer compartment frosts up regularly, so I have to defrost it regularly but it's no big deal once you get used to it.  It's so small though, I didn't think I could fit all that fish in there.  My brother didn't want any fish, and my mother was hiding so I assume she doesn't want any either.  But after emptying it out, I managed to fit all that fish in there plus shove some of the other foods in the cracks.  Say Natty, would you like some fish?

Sunday

Hi there, beautiful Natty!  How are you feeling, my precious love?  I hope you're doing well.  It's Sunday over here for me.  It's the usual routine, the usual labor which resulted in fatigue, so there's not much else to talk about.  I'm still trying to catch up with the yard work, so I bought my dinner at the new food court over at the crossroads again.  This time I bought only breadsticks.  I just wanted to see if my discovery yesterday was still valid today and yes, mangoes do make a fine marinara sauce.  So it looks like spaghetti is on the menu, Tuesday perhaps.  Would you care to join me for spaghetti?
