Acting class

Hi Natty!  Are you excited for the new year?  InshaAllah, it's going to be an awesome year for you.  Lots of stuff going on for my beautiful Natty!  Did you take acting lessons like I told you to?  No time?  Well, we make time for the things we love and love to do.  I took acting class a loooooong time ago, when I was in college.  I really enjoyed it, but I didn't go too far in theater.  One thing I did learn is that I have to be myself doing a scene, instead of some famous actor doing a scene.  Does that make sense?  I remember doing Jack Nicholson in a scene from "Terms of Endearment" and Steve Martin in the bathroom scene from "All of Me".  No, I don't want to be in the movies or on TV.  I'm already doing what I want to do, the future is now for me.  Not in the cheesy sense, but because it's all the same day to me.  Having lots of money and not having to put up with hot weather and manual labor would be great.  Would I be the same person though?  I don't know.  I'm too old and stuck in my ways to change.  Plus, I'm damned lazy.  Hopefully, I won't turn into a bloated blob.  InshaAllah.

Pretend not to hear

Hi Natty!  How are you feeling today?  Are you enjoying the holidays, lazing around the house or are you out on the mountains?  I would prefer to laze around the house, warming up to the fire and watching TV.   Perhaps if you were to get me a snowmobile, I would be out and about.  But I wouldn't be able to chase you down the slopes.  Have fun during the holidays my love, soon you'll have to get back to work, we all have to.  But know that I love you, and I will take care of you inshaAllah.  I have to work every day.  I am a servant of Allah.

What is longevity in the entertainment business anyway?  Speaking strictly as a singer, we see nowadays singers with 50 year careers suffering the same peak as singers with 10 year careers: being a judge in a talent contest/variety show.  Who would want to finance the ongoing career of any winner thereof anyway?  There are so many good singers, just wait for the next season.  Maybe one could diversify to get a side income.  Maybe put in the footwork to run a restaurant, design clothes, or perhaps even influence markets by giving (or not giving) endorsements?  Allah is the One Who has the power.  Allah is the One Who enlarges or restricts the provision of whoever God wills.  Those who ignore the signs of Allah will have a grievous penalty.

127.  They ask your instruction concerning the women.  Say, "Allah does instruct you about them, and what has been rehearsed unto you in the Book, concerning the orphans of women to whom you give not the portions prescribed and yet whom you desire to marry, as also concerning the children who are weak and oppressed: that you stand firm for justice to orphans."  There is not a good deed which you do, but Allah is well-acquainted therewith.

Hi Natty!  How was your day today?  Did you have a marvelous time?  That's a lovely family photo as usual, and that is a curious T-shirt.  I don't recognize the people, so it remains curious to me.  You have an awesome day my love, and don't you worry about a thing.  I love you, and I will take care of you inshaAllah.

It's business as usual around here.  I took my Mom to the doctor for a checkup, did my laundry, and cut the grass in the evening.  I made fried rice for dinner.  Luka is in heat, but she's going to have to stay in the house so the humans don't kill her.  After I post this letter, I'll be going to the mosque to join the night prayer.  It's time for you to watch another movie.  I suppose you are relaxing and enjoying your time off, so please watch "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" (2008).

Hi Natty!  Sorry I'm running a little late today.  It is Tuesday after all, and I had to get to the mosque by sunset and I just got back.  How are you feeling today?  I hope you are feeling great and loved, and that you having a marvelous time.  I want you to know that I love you, and I will take care of you inshaAllah.  Please don't you worry about a thing, because everything is going to turn out great for us inshaAllah.  Meanwhile you have a great day, and my best wishes to your family.

Hi Natty!  How are you feeling today, you beautiful sweetheart?  I guess you are going skiing, I hope you keep safe and have a wonderful time.  That ski attire campaign was very intelligently produced, and you were perfectly cast as model.  They couldn't have made it more perfect.  Red and white!  I will be wearing red and white too, for a couple of days.

My day is the usual as usual.  I did chores in the morning, and went to the night market in the evening.  I bought some fry cakes and soybean milk there.  Floofy seems to be improving inshaAllah and alhamdulillah.  She's still weak, so her healing might take some time.  Ya Allah, please heal and protect my kitties.  I'm feeling somewhat tired.  Singing well is definitely not easy, but I am grateful to Allah for the music.  Anyway, I'm going to the mosque.  You take care, and don't upset your tummy this holiday season.
