Cats

I told you before about these "death ants" as I call them.  These ants are small and slow-moving, they can crawl into closed Tupperware and walk on water.  They have set a 24/7 guard over Floofy's cat bowl.  So I put cat food into her bowl only when she asks for it, wait for her to eat, then dump the rest back into the container.  Now Floofy was an abused kitten: she has a couple of lower front teeth missing, so she slobbers over her cat food when she eats.  This slobber leaves a residue, which the death ants find tasty.  I guess it must be sweet.  So now there's always some death ants in Floofy's cat bowl, and I can't just spray it with bug spray.  I have to wash it regularly

These death ants have also found my drinking water and snack mix attractive.  And they're starting to move really fast!  I can't just keep on chasing them with bug spray!  I changed the brand of my fried peanuts for my snack mix today (because the usual stuff I bought is sold out), and they were on to it 5 minutes after I portioned them out.  Good thing I checked up on them.  So now I have to keep my nuts in an air-tight metal tin.

Natty honey, please save your money for your future.  Don't waste it.

Pina, why would I want to clean up after a naughty kitty if she's not my mine?  If she's not my cat, and doesn't stay in my house, then I don't care if she pees wherever she pleases, drinks out of the mop water, and is promiscuous because SHE'S NOT MY KITTY.  I don't have to feed her.  I can just shoo her away.  That's what I want to know, Pina: are you my kitty?  Do you want me to take care of you?  Or would you rather have someone else take care of you?  No answer means no.  Vague answer means no as well.

I'm getting tired of tortillas.  I feel as if a 7 foot tall Mexican bodybuilder has been force feeding me burritos.  The dough has gotten too soft to shape into tortillas.  They look more like splotches of white paint that spilled onto the floor.  This is because my freezer is too full right now to put dough in there.  So what did I have for dinner?  Burritos.

Congratulations

My brother has a new baby, so Alhamdulillah and Congratulations.

Me?  I'm not married yet.  I want to be married, so I pray that Allah grants me the means soon.  Erin, I'm sure those raging emotions have died down by now.  Everything in human life is temporary I guess, even if some things repeat themselves.  Though you may find the feelings to be hard to bear, I want you to know that I'm always with you and you are always on my mind, because I love you.  I'm sure you realize your position as Mrs Global by now, and how deep that gets mashaAllah, so I'm sure you don't want to "step it up a notch" for the sake of a birthday or anniversary or whatever.  Get used to the notch you're on now.  The next notch is a ring, so please pray that Allah soon grants me wealth enough to marry.

You too, Natty.  Things happened so fast for you, so please just try to slow down and enjoy your career.  Save your money while things are going well.  I am the one who will pay for our marriage, so please pray that Allah grants me wealth enough to do so soon.

Fresh tortillas

I try not to waste food.  A couple of days ago, I was making tortillas but I got distracted somehow so I rolled them up, wrapped them up and stuck them in the cooler.  So last night when I was planning my meals today, I thought I would reheat them.  But that didn't work- homemade tortillas are only good fresh, and it ruined my dinner.  Bah!  Also, my perfect pickles became moldy.  Pickle juice, get moldy?  It didn't occur to me.  I should have eaten them sooner.  I need to start eating fresher.  Could it be that I have too much food?  My cooler is full, but I'm broke.  So I try to stretch whatever food I have.  Force of habit.  Now I'm forced to eat fresher.

Full moon fever

Yeah babe, the moon is bright and beautiful, and so is my girl.  How are you feeling, Beautiful?  The atmosphere is high energy with a strangeness to it.  I went to the market downtown this morning, and a gang of about 10 cats greeted me by the tree, all facing me and crouching.  I wish I had had my camera with me.

Natty, that is a beautiful dress.  And purse.  It sure looks very expensive.  And all those rings frightens me.  I hope you're not a jewelry junkie.  I want to be married, but it's up to Allah as to how soon it can be.  I'm the one who to pay for the family.  Please pray that it will be soon.  If you're dreaming about your wedding gown, then please remember that it will be a Muslim wedding so you must cover yourself.  I posted an example below.

I was in the kitchen all day today.  I woke up at 6am, did my morning worship, took care of my cats, watered the plants, then spent the rest of the morning in the kitchen.  I had to make a batch of dough, make stuffing for curry pups, and make my lunch at the same time.  It's hot weather right now, so I sweated over the dough, chopping all the veggies, and over the chicken broth.  But the dishes.... I hate doing dishes!  Lunch was rice vermicelli in chicken and potato broth.  It looks impressive, but it needs more flavor.  It was mild food, but it still gave me heartburn.  Why is that?  There's a deep connection between mind and stomach, and since the flavor wasn't perfect to me, it gave me heartburn.  Yeah, right.  Plus all that slaving over a hot stove.
