El Cheapo

Ugh, it's been a busy day.  I made a fresh batch of ranch dressing this morning.  Damn, mayo is expensive.  There is a cheaper derivative of mayo packaged in a bag as you can see above, known as "salad sauce".  It's basically mayo diluted with grease and sugar, and it tastes as such.  But since it's cheaper, hawkers put it on their burgers and call it mayonnaise.  Well, I bought a bag because real mayonnaise is bloody expensive.  The brand above is not an endorsement because it tastes like crap just like any other brand of salad sauce.  But there is some real mayonnaise in there, all I need is to neutralize the grease and sugar.  My guess is to add egg whites.  Oh dear, eggs are my weakness but I managed to get 6 egg whites.  And it worked, alhamdulillah.  The ranch dressing tastes great.  You can still taste the cheap mayo, but you would have to think about it first.

Hi Natty!  How are you today?  I hope you are having tons of fun over there.  I'm doing OK.  It's Sunday evening, and all the labor is done.  I'm pleased about that.  I made a couple of chicken and basil calzones for dinner.  No cheese, though.  Didn't need it, though.  Want one?  Anyway, keep safe and healthy in your escapades.

Someone in Second Life gave me a great analogy today: in the game of chess, Mary Unknown7 is the black queen.   I kind of agree with that.

It's about time I do a featurette on Otto, one of my 7 kitties.  He's a boy, and very affectionate and forward.  I think he's going to be big and strong like his father.  He's a very vocal kitty, always meow this and meow that.  He fancies himself an alarm clock, and tasks himself to waking me up early in the morning.  I have to get up anyway to do extra worship so I set my alarm to 4 am, plus now God has given me more work.  So lately Otto has been waking me up at 1:30 am, but last night he cut me a break and began his howling and scratching at 2:30 am.  Hm.  My alarm went off today but didn't make a sound.

Hi Natty!  How are you feeling today, my beautiful sweetheart?  That's one hell of a crazy carousel huh!  You're probably feeling intellectual about it.  Try to think about the machinery rather than the people.  That way you will know what to expect when the carousel takes a different form.  Like when we are married inshaAllah.  I went to the big supermarket downtown and got tomatoes and potatoes.  On the way back, there were quite a few people at the burger stall where I bought dinner.  Hm.  Perhaps it's unwise to get too familiar.  I will try a different burger stall next time.  I love you, Natty!  Please keep safe and healthy OK!
