The magic nangka

I don't really many of the local fruits.  They're not really to my taste, plus I can't afford them most of the time.  I like the Harumanis mango.  Mangosteens, those are nice.  Then there are jackfruits.  There are 2 types of jackfruit, the "nangka" and the "cempedak".  I can eat the nangka, while the cempedak is too sickly sweet for me.  What I have in my hand is the flesh of the nangka, while the fruit in the video below is the cempedak.  There's a tree in the yard that bears both fruits.  It usually bears cempedak, but a few years ago is bore some nangka.  I thought that was a fluke, so I never pay attention to the tree since it usually bears cempedak.  This year it bore some nangka.  I didn't see it because I wasn't looking: it was my mother that pointed it out to me.  Alhamdulillah.  I like nangka.

Hi Natty!  Oh, how cute!  What are you guys up to?  Are you playing a game on that phone?  I like to play a game while I'm waiting for slumber, or while I'm waiting.  Right now I'm in the middle of Kingdom Rush.  I'm not as fast as the guy in the video so I have to slug it out at my own pace, which is time consuming.  What else is there to do, huh!  It kind of reflects my reality: I can't run, so I have to stand my ground and fight.  It's going to take me years to finish this game, probably.

An interesting thing happened playing the game.  I top up my cell phone every month with 5 bucks.  I don't talk to anybody, I top it up to keep the account alive.  So over the past 30 months or so, I accrued more than 150 bucks balance which I don't use.  A few days ago, I discovered that Google Play accepted my cell phone balance as payment.  What a wonderful surprise income!  Alhamdulillah!  I bought some heroes for my Kingdom Rush.  I tried to spend my phone balance on Lazada, but they don't take Google Play.  Drat!  I had to cancel my order.

I seek refuge with Allah from Satan the rejected.

Hi Natty!  How are you feeling today?  It must be exciting over there in Hollywood.  How's the weather?  It's hot and dry here, but not as unbearable as it usually gets.  Maybe I'm just getting used to it.  I have a feeling you are having lots of fun there, I wish I can share your adventures but someone has to man the Eastern front.  Me.  Please keep safe and healthy, OK!

Are you hungry?  I made sardine rolls today.  I made sardine rolls for lunch a couple of days ago but I baked them, today I fried them which is much better and more photogenic.  The filling is simple, just sardines, hot sauce and dried fried shallots.  Frying the rolls makes for a crispy outside and a gooey inside.  The sauce is honey mustard sauce.  The mustard is potent like the wasabi you would use on sushi, but this mustard I used is bitter as well.  Thus the honey gives it perfect balance.  You must try my sardine rolls someday, Honey.  I think you would like them.

The kittens are grown now, folks.  They grow so fast!  So this is the last kitten update.  Until there are more kittens of course, but I'm going to enforce birth control.  Lookie looks tired, huh!  That was a kitten marathon for her at the age of 9 years old, 2 batches of kittens in 3 months, the first batch being preemies.  She's fine folks, I assure you she has tons of energy.  Sometimes cats like to pose for the camera.  Those kittens are almost her size but she she lets them suckle, even though she has no milk.  Lookie's a good mama cat.  I love my kitties.  Ya Allah, please heal and protect my cats.
