One whole fish

 Hi Natty!  How are you today, my love?  I pray that all is well with you.  Are you hungry?  I just finished my dinner.  It was steamed rice with basil, garlic, chicken and tofu cooked in soy sauce and fish broth.  Yeah the basil looked really good today, so I had to use that somehow.  The fish broth came from a fish I steamed for Floofy.  It's been on the edge for my precious Floofy.  I thought I had to dig a grave today, but I kept telling myself "not yet, not yet".  I'm really bummed out about my kitty.  She hadn't been eating much, and her hind legs are weak.  She's still bloated, but the pee has been coming out but slowly.  At least it doesn't reek as much anymore, but I still have to bathe her regularly.  She wasn't looking good at ate.  Floofy has cheated death many times before mashaAllah, but I don't know about this time.  I was really worried, but today after Mary's voice session she ate a whole fish!  Alhamdulillah!  So now I feel so much better.  And Floofy is looking much better, too.

Monday

 Hi Natty!  How are you?  I hope all is well with you.  It's Monday over here for me.  Not much going on, just the usual.  Floofy is still bloated, but the pee is coming out.  Slowly.  At least it's coming out.  It looks like a slow heal, though.  I'm scared that she might not be the same again, that's always a fear of that with pets (people too) after a health crisis.  She is eating, though.  I went and bought some fish, then slow cooked it.  When it was done, I took out the fish and cooled it, then cooked some rice with the broth.  Then I mixed in the fish meat into the soggy rice.  Floofy definitely wanted the fish, but not with rice.  Oh well.  At least she's eating.  The other cats love the stuff though.  Looks like I'll have to buy more fish tomorrow.  I just gave her a bath, now she's sulking under the cabinets.  Ya Allah, please heal my Floofy.  Not much going on with my menu.  I had ramen for lunch.  I love ramen!  I don't use chopsticks though.  And for dinner, I bought some takeout rice over at the night market by the crossroads.  Anyway, you take care and have fun OK?  I love you!

God save the cat

 Do you have a cold, Natty?  Please neutralize all the symptoms immediately, especially the runny nose.  Please take sweet loving care of your health, as I am not there to doctor you.

Not that I'm the best doctor.  I need God to help me save my cat.  Floofy is at the point where she is oozing pee.  That's good, since it's coming out.  What's bad is that she was drenched in pee all day.  I would wash it off, and she would be soaked in pee again an hour later.  I didn't want to keep bathing her, but don't you think that that would be better than being soaked in pee?  It reeks!  Without saying, it was a stressful day for my poor kitty.  Feeding time was another issue.  She doesn't want chicken anymore.  I thought she would settle for rice, like she ate a little bit of my takeout rice during my breakfast, but it's not the rice she wants.  She now wants fish.  I don't have any fish in the house right now, I will have to get some tomorrow.  I did have some fish cake, and she ate a little of that.  At least I know what she wants now, alhamdulillah.  Ya Allah, please heal my Natty and my kitty.

The Smoke

 I recognize that skyline, Natty.  When the sun gets blotted out by haze, that's happened around here due to massive burning in neighboring countries.  So that's probably from the California wildfires.  Google says the California fires were started by lightning, while the Oregon fires were started by trees falling on power lines.  Wild and forest fires have been happening forever.  Usually it clears up with the rain, sometimes it takes more rain than others.  But the smoke that won't go away, that's new.  The smoke is prophesied in the Qur'an as being a sign of Judgement Day.  Divine providence is always in reaction to human transgression, like the coronavirus ravaging an economic system where the poor deserve to die.  But few people care about divine providence more than their personal pride, what they can see and touch, or the cash on the table.  And that's the point: God will stick it to the humans in a way they will understand and accept, because they treated the earth like their own personal pedestal and trash can, and because they treated God like a non-factor.  This happens on Judgement Day and we all will have to wait until then, because God is actually really nice.

But if lightning caused the fires, how is it the humans' fault?  Well, if the air is already saturated with smog then the sun can get faster blotted out by the smoke.  Perhaps the smoke will go away with the rain.  Maybe.  Eventually it won't go away at all.

Natty, from those palm trees I guess that you're still in California.  Please keep your distance from others, and neutralize even the slightest sensation of a cold or flu symptom.  If you have to work then you have to work, but please protect your health because you are my girl, and I love you.  Please protect your health for us.

Tater tots and grapes

 Hi Natty!  How are you?  I hope you are keeping your distance from the crowd, even though you must be very popular right now.  For me, self-isolation is part of my personality.  There's a spike in covid cases close by, at the city where the vet wanted me to take Floofy to for a surgical procedure.  Floofy is peeing in drips, but at least it's coming out so alhamdulillah.  She doesn't want breakfast or dinner, only snacks, so I have to force feed her antibiotics.  Which isn't easy because she's still strong, and I almost got mauled just now.  I have to deny her water but I offer it to the other cats.  Lily spilled her water so Floofy could drink it.  Aw.  These cats gang up on me.

Dinner was home made tater tots and grapes.  Well I ate the tater tots first, now I'm enjoying the grapes.  They're nice and purple and firm and fat, and I got them at the supermarket yesterday.  It's a simple dinner, I guess.  Want some?

Will eat for fish head

 Hi Natty!  How are you, my love?  Are you full of energy and excitement?  Please do be safe and enjoy yourself.  By last night, I wasn't feeling as miserable as I had during the day.  I was feeling quite neutral actually, even though I couldn't stop weeping.  I wasn't sad, I just couldn't stop the tears.  Floofy didn't want her breakfast today.  I decided that the next move would be for her to go on a water fast, so she would use up the water that's already in her.  This meant that the other cats would get no water too, unless I offered it to them, in which they had no interest.  Cats get most of their moisture from their food anyway.  The floor of the house was dry and disinfected.  Thus it was when I left the house to take my mother shopping.  Floofy was sunning herself by the window and when I got back, there was a small puddle of pee where she had been lying down.  Ah, slight hope!  After Mary Unknown7's vocal session, I stepped on a bigger puddle that was placed in front of the cooler.  I checked Floofy's tummy and it was still bloated, but not so tight.  She didn't want any dinner though.  So later, I cooked my fish head in front of her while I had the other cats locked up in the kitty litter room.  And behold, she asked me for some!  So I shared my fish head with my precious kitty.  Alhamdulillah.

There are some good snapshots on the last page of the How does your avatar look today ? thread.  This guy seems to have a Parisian sense of fashion, but that ear is ridiculous.

Mary Unknown7 has a "average girl" look today.  I guess she's just an average girl at heart.  Pucker up!
