White rice with sweet and sour scorpionfish

Yeah babe, that was lunch today.  I found some scorpionfish (or was it grouper?) at the night market Monday.  The fish was a bit too big to get a perfect crispy fry, but a couple turned out perfect.  When a crispy fried fish is perfect, you eat the whole thing, head and tail and all.  But I couldn't bite through the spine of a couple of fish, they were simply too big.  The sauce was onion and ketchup based, but a bit too sour for my stomach but not for my mouth.  I'm very sensitive to sour, that's why my sushi rice has no vinegar in it.  Dinner was pizza.  I didn't take a photo of that.

Hm.  I'm missing a fish.  I had 8 guppies, now I only have 7.  Maybe it jumped out, and I can't find the body.  My fish don't jump out, though.

I know you're feeling emotional, Piene.  Join the gang, honey.  I don't recall ever going to Borough Market when I was a tiny kid.  I had other things on my mind.

Natty, I'm glad to see you are perking up a little.  I believe in controlling one's emotions, which can be hard to do, especially when one's body isn't cooperating.  I hate hot weather, and can be very grumpy when it gets hot.  Cute dress, Sweetie.  A couple more days to go, and you should be functioning normally inshaAllah.

I wanted to merge East and West with my noodles in soup for lunch, so I made noodles in French onion soup.  With tomatoes and potatoes.  It would have been borderline unpalatable, but one crucial element made it a great success: crispy anchovies.  East meets West in my ramen!  No mustard flower this time, Natty.  Sorry.

Dinner was hash browns stuffed with sliced chicken, tomatoes, hummus, mustard greens, and spicy sauce.  Tastes kind of like shepherd's pie with chicken, tomatoes, and hummus.  It would have gone even better with ranch or brown gravy, but I didn't make any.

Lately, I've been cleaning Bat Cat's ears everyday to get rid of ear mites, or at least every time he comes to me.  He is an outdoors cat and a good hunter at that.  He's also very intelligent.  But my work isn't good enough for him: he doesn't like even the slightest itch, and he's not smart enough to not scratch his own ear to pieces.  So today I got sick of his trying to rip out his own ear, so I slapped a restraining collar on him and threw him into the cage.  Of course, the first thing he tried was to turn on the faucet, but I secured that with wire.  You think you're so smart.  You dumb ass cat.  Scratch your own ear off.

Nothing much going on on here but the usual.  You know, taking the elevator up to the same floor I started on.  In the morning, I went to the hospital to pick up some eye drops for my Dad.  Today is Friday, so I attended the Friday prayer as usual.  I had pizza for dinner.  I think tonight is drums night.

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

118.  If your Lord had so willed, God could have made humankind one people, but they will not cease to dispute.

119.  Except those on whom your Lord has bestowed God's Mercy, and for this did God create them, and the Word of your Lord shall be fulfilled, "I will fill hell with jinns and humans all together."

120.  All that We relate to you of the stories of the messengers, with it We make firm your heart.  In them there comes to you the Truth, as well as an exhortation, and a message of remembrance to those who believe.

121.  Say to those who do not believe, "Do whatever you can: we shall do our part!"
