How to get a bigger voice

 

In your case, the first thing you have to do is enunciate.  Slow down and speak each word clearly: there's... a... red... house... over... yonder...  When you are able to speak clearly, then put the words together like a guitar solo.  As a singer, your biggest enemy  is your guitar.  Your guitar sits on your voice like a ton of bricks.  Until you beat or match the tone and expression of your guitar solo, you will always be a wimpy singer.  Your singing in NYC was an improvement, though.  Know your range.  It's more important to be comfortable and confident than to hit those hard to reach notes.

By the way, vibrato isn't in the head.  It's in the throat and chest.

Anyone can sing, whether it be some garbled rap or out-of-tune Happy Birthday.  But singing well is not easy.  People talk about a mature voice, which takes a lot of emotional commitment.  Why is that?  Because what is beautiful in a voice can't just be happiness and positivity, because there's not enough of that.  A beautiful voice is also sadness, pain, loss, despair etc.  Sure, there some talented kid singers out there.  But in tandem with music business, few of them survive to become adults.  Or they become insane.

You sound the way you look.  So does Mary.  Your guitar sounds way bigger than you.  The guys in the video below don't sound the way they look.

Hi Grace!  You're awfully quiet.  Ironically, you must be getting into all sorts of trouble in Canada.  I know I'm supposed to frown upon your political maneuvers, but I can't help smiling.  Sigh.

This video made me dizzy and nauseous.  I hope you are able to watch 30 minutes of it, it's very humbling.  Much of the manufacturing equipment was hand made and prototypes.  The aura of the building is very personal.  It might be the shaky camera, but I feel sick just thinking about it.  I swear not to be wasteful with equipment purchases.  InshaAllah.

Oh Honey, I found the video where you sing backup for the Tedeschi Trucks band.  I think it was mean of them not to let you bring your guitar with you, you didn't have to plug it in.  It's a very slick band though, and Susan does a great job at lead vocals while Derek's slide playing is awesome.

Life is about collecting stuff, right folks?  I love the videos from the Kansai Cleaning Services, they're just so fascinating.  In this one, the guy liked to collect books.  He stuffed every nook in his apartment with books until he got trapped by the front door, and that's where he died.  From what I gather, he died while propped against the mail chute.

Honey, I'll never get a hit because I don't do things the normal way like you.  Plus you're pretty and you're social, of course people would want to give you stuff.  I've had to create independent solutions when people abandon me and means are denied to me.  Every single time, Allah is the One who bails me out.

That's a beautiful Strat, Honey.  I want a Strat!  Didn't you wish for a vintage Strat for your birthday?  Yours looks like a standard stock item.  Close enough, I guess.  Check out the tiny guitar.  Would you ever play such a guitar?  It's a nice novelty.  People are making so much stuff nowadays, how much stuff can you accumulate?  Where would you put all that stuff?  You're only 19 now.  What about when you turn 60?
