Qur'an 20200627

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

64.  Say, "Is it someone other than Allah that you order me to worship, o you ignorant ones?"

65.  But it has already been revealed to you, as it was to those before you, if you were to falsely worship, truly fruitless will be your work, and you will surely be in the ranks of those who lose.

66.  No but worship Allah, and be of those who give thanks.

Hi Natty

How are you today?  I hope all is well with you.  I want you to know that I love you with all of my heart, and everything will turn out all right for us inshaAllah.  Please love me too.  I'm watching "Cheers" on TV right now.  It's been an easy going day.  Or shall I say a lazy day.  I wanted to cut the grass, then I didn't the time to do so.  I got grumpy thinking about the labor, then I cheered up a little after postponing the labor until tomorrow, then I got grumpy again when I thought about doing the labor tomorrow.  That's life, I guess.  But the night is for watching TV and computer work!  Yay!  Dinner was egg and chili burritos.  The tortillas were too thick again.  You want one?

What doesn't kill me doesn't necessarily make me stronger

Hi Natty!  How are you today?  I hope all is well with you.  Me, I'm still a bit woozy  from yesterday's hike.  Yeah, it was just a lousy 2 km pushing a motorcycle.  I used to walk miles and miles uphill and through snowstorms.  Ain't no mo!  I got through the day OK, but I didn't cut any grass.  I just did some pruning for my mother, and that was it for yard work today.  Do you recognize that quote?  "What doesn't kill me only makes me stronger".  That's Nietzsche. Since that quote crept into popular music, that's probably the only thing he's remembered for.  I used to march miles and miles through the streets while reading Nietzsche in my jungle boots, using my peripheral vision to keep an eye on traffic.  Boy, I was an idiot when I was your age.  Now that I'm older, I think Nietzsche was an idiot.

Qur'an 20150312

53.  Say, "O servants who have transgressed against their souls!  Despair not the mercy of Allah, for Allah forgives all sins, for God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

Gardening

Hi Natty!  How are you, my beloved?  The weather must be awesome right now over there in Vancouver.  Have you been enjoying your back yard?  I hope you are turning your wonderful little space into a work of art.  Beautiful flowers!  Please plant some strawberries for me!  A small space is easier to tend by yourself.  Here I have to keep up with the grass, and maybe a few times I have room in between grass cutting to do other stuff.  But this place can't stop looking like it needs a bulldozer and a sandblaster, plus a team of lumber jacks.  I'm just one guy.

My motorcycle had a flat tire, and I had to push it to the repair shop today to get a new tube, which is 2 km away.  That old tube was due, it was at least 3 years old on heavy use.  I used to push the motorcycle quite often (I'm quite obtuse with automobile maintenance), but I finally learned how to prolong the life of my tire tubes.  That was years ago, now I'm older.  4 individuals offered to tow me, but that meant I had to mount the motorcycle to steer it and my weight would have sliced open that flat tire.  So I had to decline their offer, and push the motorcycle the whole 2 km.  That was really nice of them though.  Alhamdulillah.

Do you remember my blogging about the beauty contest?  There is a thread in the "Your Avatar" section in Second Life forums where people show off their avatars.  Of course, they put in countless hours of work on the appearance of their avatars, and are very sensitive and protective of them.  Some of those avatars are truly breathtaking works of art.  Check it out, this thread is only 3 years old but it's on its 1372nd page!  It's called How does your avatar look today?  People often get into emotional squabbles and much catfighting goes on, I often have no idea why.  So some people start new threads from this main thread where they can police the posts, and one can only say nice things.  I love the drama, though!  I would never view any of those milquetoast threads.  It's the drama that made that main thread so hot!  Whoever rules that thread is clearly the superstar of it.

Qur'an 20200624

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

46.  Say, "O Allah!  Creator of the heavens and the earth!  Knower of all that is hidden and open!  It is You that will judge between Your servants in those matters about which they have differed."

47.  Even if the wrongdoers had all that there is on earth, and as much more, would they offer it for ransom from the pain of the penalty on the Day of Judgement, but something will confront them from Allah which they could never have counted upon.

48.  For the evils of their deeds will confront them, and they will be encircled by that which they used to mock at.

Hi Natty

How are you today?  I hope everything is fine with you, and you having a fabulous time.  Nothing much going on here with me, just the usual.  I went downtown this morning to pick up my Dad's prescription.  In the evening, I cut the grass by the roadside.  Nothing special on the menu, either.  Lunch was takeout, and dinner was takeout.  I did take Mary Unknown7 to Second Life's 17th birthday celebration in the afternoon.  It's crowded there, so I had her dress down to save data.  It was still very slow moving, and she got fed up quickly.  Well, it's wardrobe time again after this.  I love you!
