Coffee!

Hi there, my beautiful Ladies!  Selamat Hari Raya!  That's what the locals the Eid al-Fitr, literal translation is "safe day celebrate".  I'm so happy, I get to drink coffee in the afternoon again!  Ah, the simple things.  What a difference that cup of coffee makes and means to me.  I was really bummed out when Doris passed away, but she left me some knowledge, for which I am grateful.  Alhamdulillah.  Today I got to combine knowledge with coffee, which is an excellent combination.  Add focus to that, and the mixture becomes potent.  Praise be to Allah!  Ya Allah, thank You for a great Ramadan.

Qur'an 20190605

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

9.  If we give man a taste of mercy from Ourselves, and then withdraw it from him, behold!  He is in despair and blasphemy!

10.  But if We give him a taste of favors after adversity has touched him, he is sure to say, "All evil has departed from me."  Behold!  He falls into exultation and pride!

11.  Not so do those who show patience and constancy, and work righteousness: for them is forgiveness, and a great reward.

12.  Perchance you may give up a part of what is revealed to you, and your heart feels straightened lest they say, "Why is not a treasure sent down to him, or why does not an angel come down with him?"  But you are there only to warn!  It is Allah that arranges all affairs!

13.  Or they may say, "He forged it."  Say, "Bring you then 10 Surahs forged like it, and call whomsoever you can, other than Allah, if you speak the truth."

14.  If then they answer you not, know you that this Revelation is sent down with the Knowledge of Allah, and that there is no god but God!  Will you even then submit?

15.  Those who desire the life of the present and its glitter, to them We shall pay their deeds therein, without diminution.

16.  They are those for whom there is nothing in the hereafter but the fire.  Vain are the designs they frame therein, and of no effect are the deeds that they do!

Hud 11:9-16

One more day

Hi there, my precious Ladies!  How are we feeling today?  I hope you are feeling great.  No squabbling, please!  I am feeling absolutely worn out.  This last day of fasting feels like the first day for some reason.  I don't think anybody else out there has to belt out 2 hours of singing while fasting.  But tomorrow is the Eid, and that will the end of this year's Ramadan.  I'm so happy!  I get to drink coffee in the afternoon!  Nothing special on the menu today.  Just steamed rice with leftover curry, some mangoes, and my Mom gave me some sweet treats.  Thanks Mom!  I could cook up something better, but I'm just not motivated.  I just want to veg out and watch TV while I wait to break fast.  And that's what I will do right now!

Patience and the broken pastry

Hi there, my pretty Ladies!  How are you?  How's work?  I hope it's easy for you, and you are having a great time!  Oh, it's a weary day for me today.  One more day!  Yes, one more day and Ramadan will be over.  How was it this year?  It was spiritual and uplifting, of course.  Alhamdulillah.  My singing improved.  I discovered I had a second mother.  Among other things.  Today, I made some pastries with the pastry squares and my leftover extra thick curry.  The pastry squares were fractured at the corner, all of them, so I lost 10% of each square.  Which means I had less room to stuff with.  I don't know how that happened, maybe the packet got dropped while frozen on its corner.  But I stuffed them all the best I could, and fried them up on medium low heat.  Frying them is greasier than baking them, but they cook more thoroughly.  And if you give them time to cool down, the dough will absorb most of the grease.  I don't have any snapshots of them though.  They look more like trumpets than triangles.  I'm sure they taste OK.  I'll know for sure in half an hour.

Sunday

Hello, my Ladies!  How are you?  How is your Sunday?  I hope you are feeling great and having a wonderful time.  Sunday is always active for me, so right now I'm feeling worn out.  But it's almost time to break fast, and I will be having pastries, mangoes, blackcurrant juice and iced tea.  Sounds good, huh?  I bought the pastries, they're stuffed with sardines.  I went to the supermarket after voice training, and bought some groceries.  I also got some raw pastry squares, and I plan to stuff them with that extra thick curry I made.  Should work out OK inshaAllah.  I also got some chocolate, potato chips, lettuce, parsley, sliced cheese, sliced bread and tomatoes.  I'm on motorcycle, so I can only buy what I can carry.  But if you were riding at the back, you could probably carry some grocery bags.  Nah, we'll have to take the car.  It's so much easier to park and weave through traffic on a motorcycle though.  Saves gas, too.  Anyway, I'm going to veg out and watch some TV before breaking fast.  I love you!

Qur'an 20190602

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

101.  Say, "Behold all that is in the heavens and the earth."  But neither Signs nor warners profit those who believe not.

102.  Do they then expect but the days of the men who passed away before them?  Say, "Wait you then, for I too will wait with you."

103.  In the end We deliver Our messengers and those who believe.  Thus it is fitting on Our part that We should deliver those who believe!

104.  Say, "O humans!  If your are in doubt as to my religion, I worship not what you worship besides Allah!  But I worship Allah Who will take your souls.  I am commanded to be of the believers."

105.  Furthermore, set your face towards religion with true piety, and never be in anywise of the unbelievers.

106.  Nor call on any other than Allah, such will neither profit you nor hurt you.  If you do, behold!  You shall certainly be of those who do wrong.

107.  If Allah touches you with hurt, there is none can remove it but God.  If God designs some benefit for you, there is none can keep back God's favor.  God causes it to reach whomsoever of God's servants God pleases, and God is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

108.  Say, "O humans!  Now Truth has reached you from your Lord!  Those who receive Guidance do so for the good of their own souls.  Those who stray do so to their own loss.  And I am not over you to arrange your affairs."

Jonah 10:101-108

It's the weekend!

Hi there, my luscious Ladies!  How are you feeling today?  Are you nice and relaxed for the weekend?  Oh that's right, some of us have to work on weekends.  Well, I hope things are going easy peasy for you.  It's all the same old day to me.  It's that time of the year, where I have to report my income to the taxman.  I'll have you know that when we get married inshaAllah, your taxes will be under my name, and thus my responsibility.  My Mom gave me dinner tonight, which is fried croquettes and fish balls.  I eat it with some of that curry I made, I only have a couple more servings after this then I will finish it off.  Boy, I made too much.  I won't do that again, I hope.  Only 3 more days of fasting left for me, then it's the Eid.  I'm so happy!  I get to drink coffee in the afternoon!
