Attention Grabbers

You sure know how to grab all the attention.  It's because you're so beautiful.  And you're MY girl.  Mine, mine, MINE.  I couldn't tell what is was you had been eating, perhaps next time you should take a photo before you dig in.  You know, if you didn't clean your plate, people might think you didn't enjoy your food.  Just kidding!  You're so beautiful.  Who cares what they think.

Hi Canada!  How's business?  Oh, is everybody talking about you?  From what I can tell, most of it is positive.  But who cares what they say, you're so beautiful.  Don't worry Sweetie, have fun!  I have some cotton buds, I'll help you clean your ears out.

Oh, you suddenly want lots of attention too, Pina?  What happened to the stay-in-the-background Nowhere Girl?  Did you suddenly realize that you like being showered with attention?  Don't seek attention, Sweetie.  Take some photos of your food instead.  I want to see it.

Summer

Summer is here!  Actually, it's just the dry season.  It was supposed to start on New Year's, but it stayed wet until last week.  And even now it's not that hot.  Sure I have the AC on because I heat up easily, but it's not hot.  I went about this morning running errands, and I was all dressed up somewhat like an Arab, covering my neck with a scarf for sun protection, but it wasn't that hot.  Alhamdulillah.  I hate hot weather.

The kids are back in school, of course.  Kids around here get 2 2 week breaks, and a 6 week break at the end of the year.  I guess I am on some sort of permanent vacation.  Life of a rock star.  The trouble with that is that I have to work everyday.  Alhamdulillah.

Mucho mas tortillas!

Please forgive me, my Mexican is atrocious.  I no know no Mexicana!  There must be something wrong with me, I've been craving only tortillas lately.  If you were to make a burrito with something other than the usual beans and meat, would you call that Mexican food?  I call it Global Mexican food.  For lunch today is... leftovers!
1.  Leftover chicken wings.
2.  Oooh, those bean sprouts are their last legs.
3.  The "fresh" tofu is now 5 days old.  I used half for lunch, the other half for dinner.
4.  I'm happy to report that my home made pickles are a great success!  (Not relevant to burritos) Please excuse the bite marks.
5.  Dinner was burritos with scrambled egg, fried onions, tofu, mayo, pepper and hot dogs.  I didn't photograph my lunch, but it looked the same as dinner.

Secret Separation

I told you a while ago that your career would be at its peak right before you marry, so there's really no secret about it.  So just be patient, have faith, and don't give up on us OK?

Do you understand that, Natty and Pina?   Your career would be at its peak right before you marry.  I'm not a prophet, but the music does come with some great responsibility.  My consorts are expected to have dignity, piety and chastity.  If she were to have such qualities, then she would receive double her reward.  InshaAllah.

Lunch today was rice vermicelli in Siamese hot sour soup.

Little fish

Hey Erin honey!  Are you having fun?  You got to have fun with your situation, so you won't worry so much.  There's not much going on here today for me, just the same old same old.  For brunch I had my Mom's "nasi lemak" (rice...), and for dinner I had hot dogs and fries.  Yeah it's normal food, but I had to fry up some crunchy anchovies for my snack mix.  So I thought since I would slow heat the oil and cook the hot dogs at the same time, then when the oil got hot I would cook the fries, then when the fries got done I would fry the anchovies.  Want some?

Oooh, I don't think you would like crunchy anchovies Natty.  How about you take a snapshot of your food for me, Sweetie?  I want to know what you've been eating. Croissants?  Souffle?
Escargot? Chocolate Mousse?

I know you're having fun, Pina.  I can see it in your face.  I'll bet you're hungry as usual.

Qur'an 20170129

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

106.  A Qur'an which We have divided, in order that you might recite it to humans in intervals: We have revealed it in stages.

107.  Say, "Whether you believe in it or not, it is true that those who were given knowledge beforehand, when it is recited to them, fall down on their faces in humble prostration."

108.  And they say, "Glory to our Lord!  Truly has the promise of our Lord has been fulfilled!"

109.  They fall down on their faces in tears, and it increases their humility.

110.  Say, "Call upon Allah, or call upon the Compassionate One.  By whatever name you call upon God, for to God belong the Most Beautiful Names.  Neither speak your prayer aloud, nor speak it in a low tone, but seek a middle course between."

111.  Say, "Praise be to Allah, who begets no son, and has no partner in dominion, nor any to protect God from humiliation.  Yea, magnify God, for God's Greatness and Glory!"

Gyrlie Roxtar

If you're wondering why there hasn't been any fashion pics of me lately, it's because I've reached my data cap and I have to stay away from the dance club and crowds of avatars period because they suck up data.  And I need the rest of my data for other important things like love letters and playing with my dolly.  I'm grateful to Allah for Mary my avatar, because she helps compensate for my real life appearance, after all I am a chick singer.  Obviously the data plan I have right now is not adequate.  I'm going to have get an additional plan for me to do my job properly.  It's not as if I have to focus on what Mary is doing at all times.  I can do other work while Mary is busy dancing.

Pina, you're so pretty!  That's such a pretty outfit you're wearing, especially that jacket.  Did you get your new leather jacket yet, by the way?  You're not just pretty, you're beautiful.

I spent the morning making hot sauce for my chicken wings.  It's a delicate balance between what my mouth wants and what my stomach can handle.  The batch I made today is OK.  I would grade it a C+.  It needs to be hotter.  For lunch, I had tortillas again.  This time my foray into global Mexican food enters India and China.  Today I made chicken curry burritos with tofu and bean sprouts.  Of course, REAL Mexicans would not approve of such a burrito, but this is Global Mexican food.  To me, the food was kind of girly. All that soy protein. Today has been very easy on my stomach.  No stomach problems whatsoever.
