The child singer

Hi Natty!  What's up, tough girl?  It's great to be strong.  Allah loves the strong, as long as you use your strength to be consistently righteous.  So please be a good cop, and please pray.  I love you, Natty.

I've been watching a lot of those talent shows that are so popular all around the world lately, like X Factor, Got Talent, The Voice, etc.  There are a lot of good singers out there!  I'm so impressed with this one, she is so awesome:

She is so cute!  I've heard many a super talented little girl singer, even around here as they migrate to this village for whatever reason.  Little girls love to sing!  And their purity comes out in their voices.  But the child singer is like the child actor, and we don't see/hear that many child singers grow up to remain as professional singers.  Nothing ruins purity more than corruption, and when one's heart becomes corrupted so does the voice.  What coach can save the heart of a child singer from becoming corrupted?  Look at it from the entertainment business point of view: little girls love to sing.  So there will always be a steady supply of meat for the monster.  Who says you can't make money from corruption?  I guess as a parent, it would be wise to consider one of these major talent shows as the peak of their child's singing career, not the beginning.

Deep Purple

Hey Natty!  How are you doing, Sweetheart?  No news from you means you're super busy... that's my guess.  Lots of traveling, huh?  Please remember to pray, and look after your tummy!  Here's a song for you, my beautiful darling.

Nah, I don't want to tour.  I just want to stay put, plants my roots in the ground and be a tree.  Besides, I'm too lazy to tour.  You however, should be doing as much traveling as possible at your age.  Make sure you get your fill of travel before we marry inshaAllah.  Tour on my behalf, OK?  When people come to see you, they come to see me.  You are me, we are one.  It's nice and mild weather over here, and I'm in a good mood.  I even enjoyed cutting the grass.  Alhamdulillah.

I love this color!  I dunno if it's my favorite color, but I do so love it!

The Public Restroom

Hi Natty!  How are you feeling?  I hope you are having a great time.  Please keep safe, and don't forget to pray.  It was a busy day for me.  I had to pick my parents up at the airport.  The airport is in the next state and a one and a half hour drive, so I had to adjust all my other responsibilities in order to be able to do them and still make it to the airport in time.  Everything went nice and smoothly, alhamdulillah.  I used the public restroom at the airport!  It had been years since I last used the public restroom, in fact it was the same restroom, and I picked up my parents at the airport.  I should have taken a snapshot... The locals like to wash with water, but thank God there was toilet paper there.  There were no toilet seats as you would expect, instead you would have to squat over a stylized hole in order to take a poop.  I didn't take a poop, I just wanted to pee.  The restroom at the airport is air conditioned and probably way cleaner than any other public restroom around here.  Certainly not as clean as a typical public restroom at a mall in the US!  I pray that I will never have to use the public restroom ever again.

White hair

Hi Natty!  How are you today, my love?  I expect your schedule is crammed, so please have lots of fun OK!  Yeah, I'm blogging late today.  It was a slow morning, but right at voice training time things suddenly got busy, and I only just got back from the mosque.  It's Tuesday, after all.  I spent the evening doing some cleaning at my parents' house, and ate out for dinner.  Nothing fancy, just rice.  Lunch was rice, too.  Tomorrow is looking to be busy as well.  I guess it's about time, I kind of had a holiday the past week, what with all the rain and such.  It was awesome, alhamdulillah.  I got really slow and lazy for a few days, it was bliss.  Oh well, back to the real world.

Some local fare

Hi Natty!  How are you today, beautiful girl?  You should learn to relax more!  Languish in your position as the world's most gorgeous model.  To me, that is.  You're MY girl!  It's been a nice, relaxing day for me.  Alhamdulillah.  I made more stuffed won tons in the morning.  I think you would like stuffed won tons, it's a very feminine food, if such a thing.  But since you weren't here, I ate the whole lot.  It took almost 2 hours to make, gone in 5 minutes!  Nah, I ate them slowly.  It rained heavily in the evening, so I had no choice but to languish in front of the TV and eat snacks.  But I did leave the house to go buy dinner at the night market, orders from The Boss.  It was still raining, so I put on my boots and walked there with an umbrella.  I bought some "pasembor" and some raw fish sausage.  "Pasembor" is meats and veggies (mostly jicama and cucumber) in a savory sweet sauce, close in flavor to plum sauce.  You get a lot of sauce per order, so the meats and veggies drown in it.  My parents always buy this stuff, I bought it today because I didn't know what else to buy.  I'll fry up the fish sausage after I post this letter.  I like this recipe of fish sausage.  Crunchy chewy.  Best when hot out of the grease.

Internet problems

Hi Natty.  How are you feeling, my love?  I'm sorry I wasn't able to sing at Fireside today, if you were happened to be waiting to listen.  Internet problems.  I'm preparing to change my ISP, but since I obviously have Internet now I'm going to have to give my current ISP one last chance.  I'm especially sorry for the folks out there who need me to get some sleep.  But really, you people need to learn how to relax.  Pray and ask God to help you sleep.

Natty I know your love life sucks, but my love life sucks too.  I need to be married, but I must be the one who finances our family.  So please don't hurt or kill yourself, because Allah has been really nice to you.  Think about what you DIDN'T have to do to get to the position you are now.  I want you to know that I love you and care for you, and I will take care of you inshaAllah.  So please do as I say and be patient, pray that God grants me wealth enough to marry soon, and protect your health and your chastity.  Meanwhile, have fun with your career OK?
