Qur'an 20181128

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

183.  They said, "Allah took our promise not to believe in a messenger unless he showed us a sacrifice consumed by fire."  Say, "There came to you messengers before me with clear signs and even with what you ask for: why then did you slay them, if you speak the truth?"

(The Family of Imran 3:183)

Whitney!

Hi Honey!  How are you?  I'm sure you are having a fabulous time being your fabulous self under the sun.  Oh, how we envy you!  It's so grey and cold back in the States!  Well, it's hot and muggy here.  I much prefer having to warm up instead of having to cool down.  I was sweltering through voice training today.  Ugh... it's so hard/impossible to get the perfect feeling.

Hee hee... Whitney is out of my range.  So I don't do any Whitney in my set.  Most other chick singers like to sing Whitney, so they can go ahead and do so, after all she's in their range.  The computer chooses the song I have to sing at any given time.  I do sing a few singers who are out of my range like Janis and Olivia, but it has to be earlier in the set but not too early, so I'm warmed up but not yet worn out.  Plus I have to be in the mood, so I skip songs if I don't feel right.  Yeah, I do only one Whitney song.  Rarely.

Sailing

Hi Honey!  How's it going?  Oh, you're still not ready yet?  Well, none of us are really ready for anything.  But you're such a resilient girl, I'm sure you will be able to cope with what you have at the time.  That's what it's all about Honey, sailing.  Going with the breeze.  And it sure looks like you are having an awesomely fabulous time being a beautiful high fashion model, living the life the rest of us commoners could only dream about.  That's a beautiful day/night snapshot too.  Take lots of snapshots!  You will want to look back them someday in the future, and laugh and remember about how wonderfully charmed your life is.  Don't worry so much about not having everything prepared, part of the fun is to come up with unexpected resources inshaAllah.  And I'm sure you have more with you than most people do.  Me, I'm sailing the cooler right now.  I was going to have rice and chicken for lunch, then I forgot to add extra rice for the cat, so I gave my rice to the cat and ate bread instead.  I had rice for dinner though, and it's a good thing my Mom had some okra growing that she didn't want (otherwise she would have picked it before it got hard) so that gave my rice and curry some vegetables.  C'est la vie, huh?

Qur'an 20181126

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

168.  The ones that say while they themselves sit, "If only they had listened to us, they would not have been slain."  Say, "Avert death from your own selves, if you speak the truth."

(The Family of Imran 3:168)

Sunday

Hi Honey!  I'm sorry but I have to blog and run again today.  I must say that you are looking radiant under the sun, and happy thereof.  Nice change from the grey and snow, huh?  I hope you are having tons of fun, and when your schedule becomes hectic remember what I told you: walk slower!  Yeah, I took too much time eating my dinner.  I don't know where the time went.  Sunday mornings, I always clean my mother's bedroom.  This evening I lugged the leftover dirt from my failed mango farm project over to my Mom's yard, because she wants it to plant okra probably.  Well, I have to run to the mosque next.  Have tons of fun, OK?  You're beautiful, and I love you.

Qur'an 20181125

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

165.  What!  When a single disaster smites you, although you smote with one twice as great, do you say, "What is this?"  Say, "It is from yourselves, for Allah has power over all things."

(The Family of Imran 3:165)

The dying cat stares at the water

From Allah is our origin and to Allah is our return.
Hi Honey.  How are you?  If you're not feeling ready, then don't hurry.  Don't hurry so much at anything.  Slow down your pace, and don't forget to smell the flowers.  Take lots of snapshots!  My elderly kitty Chee Cheah died this morning.  She had been with me 10 years, and she was 10 years old when I met her.  I had just returned here from the US, and she was my Dad's cat, staying with my parents.  Then when I moved here to live alone, I took her with me.  She got old, and her digestive system shut down.  It happened very quickly: even though she was old and thin, she was eating a lot.  Then yesterday, she couldn't stomach anything and stopped eating, then this morning she died.  I could tell this was it, so at first light I dug her grave.  Everything was so clean and organized, this death wasn't messy at all.  After I dug her grave, I went inside and waited and watched her take her last breath.  Then I wrapped her up in newspaper.  The headline read, "Born To Be A Queen."  It was about a beauty pageant.

I don't really feel like giving an extensive eulogy, because she used to be my Dad's cat.  Of course I loved her: I love all my cats.  One thing about her is that she was very adept at flashing her eyes.  In the photo below which was the very first snapshot I took of her, she was 11 years old and flashing her eyes at the camera.  After she died, I cradled her body as I took her to be buried, and she flashed her eyes at me for the last time.  Poor little Chee Cheah.
