Crouching kitty, hidden dragon

 

Hi Natty!  How are you today?  I hope you are feeling great, and having a marvelous time.  It's Friday here today.  I had to attend the Friday prayer as usual.  Today the King was gracious to join the congregation.  I had ramen for lunch.  I reused the same beef bone for the 3rd time, by now the gristle was falling off and was nice and soft.  So I put that in the blender along with the broth, and it made a very nice thick soup.  Too bad that I have to wait until the 3rd time to blend it as soup.

So what was the kitty here crouching at?  Steamed rice!

The mystery of the missing graves

 

Hi Natty!  How are you feeling today, Honey?  I hope that all is well and easy going for you over there.  I'm doing OK over here, I just had my dinner which was chicken nuggets, fried up from the frozen stuff you would buy at the supermarket.  It was good, goes well with my ranch dressing.  The cats aren't very interested in it for some reason.  I gave some to Lookie, and she just slapped it around.  No, these cats must have home made chicken nuggets made from fresh chicken breast.  Spoiled brat cats.

I didn't want to talk about this matter at first but since there are many witnesses to this incident, I feel compelled to give my account of it.  A few days before the Eid last Ramadan, I took the weed whacker to my grandparents' gravesite to cut the grass and tidy it up.  I turned on the weed whacker and strapped it on, then went to the graves to cut the grass but they were not there.  The markers were there: the tree with long braches that hung over my grandfather's grave, and the small tree with yellow leaves that marked the foot of my grandmother's grave.  But the graves weren't there.  A total of 3 graves were missing: my grandparents, and a woman that was between them.  In their place was 2 fresh graves of men whose names I didn't recognize.  I got on my hands and knees to read the gravestones, then searched the area for my grandparents but they were nowhere to be found.  When my aunt came over after the Eid to visit my mother, I reported to them what happened to their parents' graves.  Then I forgot about it until yesterday, when my mother told me the graves were there.  I went there and sure enough, there they were and covered in weeds that hadn't been touched in months.  So I cut the grass and tidied up the graves as I had intended the previous time I was there.  God can do anything.  This time, God delivered a message: beware the reckoning of a Day of Distress, because they are negligent and refuse to believe.

Drizzle to a flood

 

Oh, flowers!  How pretty!  Natty, you're so beautiful and I love you with all of my heart.  Were you wearing anything else besides that sweater?  You should check that patch of earth before sitting on it.  I know you're a nature girl and all, but we don't want any creepy crawlies digging into your butt.

I spent the morning making hot sauce.  First I had to go downtown to get bitter beans, then I could make hot sauce.  It turned out good, but I think it could use more bouillon.  So I'm going to dump it out of the jar tomorrow, mix in more bouillon, then put it back in.  A friendly reminder to the locals about tourists, that it could change from a drizzle to a flood of very sensitive and emotional music lovers instantaneously.

Food run

 

Hi Natty!  How are you today, my beloved?  I hope you are safe and well, and enjoying yourself.  What's on the menu today?  I had ramen for lunch.  I love ramen!  This time I reused a beef bone to make the broth, along with some ginger, a small onion, and a handful of my veggie stir fry mix which is cabbage, Chinese cabbage, and carrots.  Darn, I forgot the seaweed!  But it turned out OK, what was really missing was some hot sauce.  I needed ingredients for that, so in the evening I went out to buy them.  Oh no, I couldn't find any bitter beans!  I absolutely have to have bitter beans, they are in season right now, people usually sell them at the side of the road, but I didn't see anybody selling them when I went out.  I'm going to have to try again tomorrow morning, hopefully I won't have to go all the way downtown.  My food has been very pure lately, and my tummy is quite pleased with me.  All I need is that hot sauce.

I love McDonald's and KFC, I just can't afford to eat that stuff all the time.  Allah has granted some some knowledge of cooking, so I prepare my own food, which is much healthier, cheaper and more filling.  I love Coca-Cola.  I especially love it on a hot day, and there's a bottle in the freezer, and it just about turned into slush.  I could easily down a 1½ liter bottle in that case.  But I don't eat sugar, even my iced tea and coffee is unsweetened, so if I drank Coca-Cola like that, I would suffer the next day from a sugar hangover.  Would I eat more junk food if I had lots of money?  I think I would, but I would rather buy lobster, prime rib and bluefin tuna.  I don't know.  I'll find out when it happens inshaAllah.
