Liver and onions

Hi Honey!  How's it going today?  Are you super busy, and having tons of fun?  I sure hope you are.  Don't forget to pray!  I just finished my dinner.  The other day, I bought 2 fat chickens from the butcher at the supermarket.  Chicken is cheaper there, and they pre-package the liver in a small bag then put it back in the chicken.  Sometimes people don't want the liver, so the butcher puts them aside and I managed to keep all the little bags of liver that he had kept aside that day.  I don't think you would like liver which is a shame, because liver is good for you.  Lots of iron for your blood.  I like liver, so I had liver and onions with tortillas for dinner.  Liver is strong in flavor, so there's no need for anything else but I did put a little too much salt in it.  Live and learn.  Lunch was a success though, alhamdulillah.  I always get the butcher to split the chicken in half, then I go home and separate the legs, wings, and white meat so what's left is a half carcass, and I use that for broth.  I've learned not to chop up the chicken anymore, so there are no bone splinters.  When I remove the chicken from the soup, I pick off all the meat and skin for other dishes like noodles.  My Mom gave me a head of broccoli and some carrots, so I put that in the soup.  The chicken gave its flavor to the vegetables!  And the cats got a snack later when I was done.  😸

Frogs

Hi Honey.  How are you feeling?  Is the waiting getting to you again?  I'm so very sorry about the waiting.  I long to be with you, I long to be married to you, but I must be the one who pays for our marriage.  So please pray that Allah grants me wealth enough to finance our marriage.  This is our spiritual path, Honey.  We are at the mercy of Allah, no matter what.  I am a servant of Allah.

Every day I sincerely and seriously give my all to sing for the sake of Allah.  But again, I am at the mercy of Allah.  So if God puts a frog in my throat, there's nothing I can do but to sing it out, awful though it sounds.  That's what happened today.  I had so much trouble getting out of second gear, and I feel bad for the people who showed up early to hear me sing.  But Janis likes frogs in the throat, so when she came along to sing at the 25 minute mark, she kicked it out for me.  I guess I need to be very careful with what I sing early in the set, I thought I was being cautious, but it wasn't good enough.  Singing well is very difficult.  The goal is to be perfect all the time.

The rest room at the fast food restaurant

Hi Honey!  How are you feeling today?  I hope you are feeling great, and having a grand old time.  Every time I look at your picture, I say to myself, "Wow, she's beautiful".

I had no food in my cooler, so I went out to buy food.  Chicken was cheap, so I bought two, and they were fat this time, so I paid more than I anticipated.  But that's OK, thank God I know how to cook.  I'll be spending the night cutting them up and portioning them out, after I choose my outfit for tomorrow's set.  Cooking takes so much time.

It's been years since I used a rest room other then mine.  What a luxury!  I had forgotten what a public restroom is like, how you can sense the aura of all those people who had used it.  😝  But I had a dream last night about the rest room at a fast food Mexican food joint, and it reminded me.  One of the great perks of staying in one place, is to not have to use the public restroom.  I don't even use the public restroom when I eat out.  Keep it until we get home, Honey.

Qur'an 20181128

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

183.  They said, "Allah took our promise not to believe in a messenger unless he showed us a sacrifice consumed by fire."  Say, "There came to you messengers before me with clear signs and even with what you ask for: why then did you slay them, if you speak the truth?"

(The Family of Imran 3:183)

Whitney!

Hi Honey!  How are you?  I'm sure you are having a fabulous time being your fabulous self under the sun.  Oh, how we envy you!  It's so grey and cold back in the States!  Well, it's hot and muggy here.  I much prefer having to warm up instead of having to cool down.  I was sweltering through voice training today.  Ugh... it's so hard/impossible to get the perfect feeling.

Hee hee... Whitney is out of my range.  So I don't do any Whitney in my set.  Most other chick singers like to sing Whitney, so they can go ahead and do so, after all she's in their range.  The computer chooses the song I have to sing at any given time.  I do sing a few singers who are out of my range like Janis and Olivia, but it has to be earlier in the set but not too early, so I'm warmed up but not yet worn out.  Plus I have to be in the mood, so I skip songs if I don't feel right.  Yeah, I do only one Whitney song.  Rarely.

Sailing

Hi Honey!  How's it going?  Oh, you're still not ready yet?  Well, none of us are really ready for anything.  But you're such a resilient girl, I'm sure you will be able to cope with what you have at the time.  That's what it's all about Honey, sailing.  Going with the breeze.  And it sure looks like you are having an awesomely fabulous time being a beautiful high fashion model, living the life the rest of us commoners could only dream about.  That's a beautiful day/night snapshot too.  Take lots of snapshots!  You will want to look back them someday in the future, and laugh and remember about how wonderfully charmed your life is.  Don't worry so much about not having everything prepared, part of the fun is to come up with unexpected resources inshaAllah.  And I'm sure you have more with you than most people do.  Me, I'm sailing the cooler right now.  I was going to have rice and chicken for lunch, then I forgot to add extra rice for the cat, so I gave my rice to the cat and ate bread instead.  I had rice for dinner though, and it's a good thing my Mom had some okra growing that she didn't want (otherwise she would have picked it before it got hard) so that gave my rice and curry some vegetables.  C'est la vie, huh?

Qur'an 20181126

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

168.  The ones that say while they themselves sit, "If only they had listened to us, they would not have been slain."  Say, "Avert death from your own selves, if you speak the truth."

Sunday

Hi Honey!  I'm sorry but I have to blog and run again today.  I must say that you are looking radiant under the sun, and happy thereof.  Nice change from the grey and snow, huh?  I hope you are having tons of fun, and when your schedule becomes hectic remember what I told you: walk slower!  Yeah, I took too much time eating my dinner.  I don't know where the time went.  Sunday mornings, I always clean my mother's bedroom.  This evening I lugged the leftover dirt from my failed mango farm project over to my Mom's yard, because she wants it to plant okra probably.  Well, I have to run to the mosque next.  Have tons of fun, OK?  You're beautiful, and I love you.

Qur'an 20181125

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

165.  What!  When a single disaster smites you, although you smote with one twice as great, do you say, "What is this?"  Say, "It is from yourselves, for Allah has power over all things."

(The Family of Imran 3:165)

The dying cat stares at the water

From Allah is our origin and to Allah is our return.
Hi Honey.  How are you?  If you're not feeling ready, then don't hurry.  Don't hurry so much at anything.  Slow down your pace, and don't forget to smell the flowers.  Take lots of snapshots!  My elderly kitty Chee Cheah died this morning.  She had been with me 10 years, and she was 10 years old when I met her.  I had just returned here from the US, and she was my Dad's cat, staying with my parents.  Then when I moved here to live alone, I took her with me.  She got old, and her digestive system shut down.  It happened very quickly: even though she was old and thin, she was eating a lot.  Then yesterday, she couldn't stomach anything and stopped eating, then this morning she died.  I could tell this was it, so at first light I dug her grave.  Everything was so clean and organized, this death wasn't messy at all.  After I dug her grave, I went inside and waited and watched her take her last breath.  Then I wrapped her up in newspaper.  The headline read, "Born To Be A Queen."  It was about a beauty pageant.

I don't really feel like giving an extensive eulogy, because she used to be my Dad's cat.  Of course I loved her: I love all my cats.  One thing about her is that she was very adept at flashing her eyes.  In the photo below which was the very first snapshot I took of her, she was 11 years old and flashing her eyes at the camera.  After she died, I cradled her body as I took her to be buried, and she flashed her eyes at me for the last time.  Poor little Chee Cheah.
