The one good thing that grew like mad

 

Hi Natty!  How are you today, my love?  I hope all is cool and calm and easy for you over there.  It is a nice cool day over here.  By the end of the month, one gets used to fasting.  It becomes no big deal at all, I don't feel thirsty, I don't feel hungry, I don't feel much of anything at all.  I guess it could just be a nice day, so alhamdulillah.

The one thing that I do eat that grew like mad for me is ginger.  I started of with a piece the size of a quarter, and ended up with 5 times the amount you see above, in about 6 months.  Crazy, huh?  I grew the ginger in flower pots, and the chunk in the photo I harvested yesterday.  I would wrap the ginger up in newspaper and keep it in the drawer, but cockroaches love fresh ginger.  If I kept it in the cooler it would shrivel up, so I had to put it in a tupperware after wrapping it up.  On the menu tonight is steamed rice with ginger chicken!  Very tangy, tasty and extremely good for you!  Would you like to join me for dinner?

Hi Natty!  How are you feeling today, Honey?  Aw don't you worry so much, my precious beloved.  Just enjoy your ride on the crazy carousel.  Not many girls get to do it, but you do because you're special.  You are MY girl, and I love you with all of my heart.  What a fabulous life you have.  Enjoy your youth.

Want to join me for dinner?  I'm having steamed rice beef and broccoli, with lots of roasted sesame seeds on top.  Simple food, delicious and quick to prepare and eat.  It seems that I can't eat too many mangoes, and other people's cooking.  I like my own cooking time permitting, Allah gave me some knowledge alhamdulillah.  But the mangoes are a slap in the face.  I spent a decade suffering to plant food that I can eat in the yard.  Now that I have all these mango trees maturing, I can't eat too much of the fruit.  I wish avocados grew well here.

Mary is wearing a supposedly medieval dress, but I don't think they cut them that low back then.  I put sling back pumps on her.  In retrospect, I guess I should have put on short boots.  But I guess it doesn't matter with a skirt that full.

Hi Natty!  How are you feeling, Honey?  With all this excitement, I hope your libido isn't making you miserable.  I'm sorry Honey, but please be patient.  Everything will work out just wonderful for us inshaAllah.  I want you to know that I love you  with all of my heart, and I will marry you inshaAllah.

It's Thursday.  The Eid is on Tuesday, so that means another 4 days of fasting.  It's been an intense Ramadan.  Ya Allah, thank You for stepping me up.  This Ramadan has made me kind of scared about the next Ramadan, but that's one year away.  This morning, I vacuum cleaned my mother's house.  In the evening, I went to cut the grass over at my grandparents' grave, but it wasn't there.  Oh, well.  Instead, I dug up some weed trees in the yard.  I bought a half kilo of sesame seeds the other day.  I had it in my craw to make sesame cookies.  I didn't use sugar like the recipe above.  All I did was add about a spoonful of water to a cup of sesame seeds, just enough to get them wet without flooding them.  Then a pinch of salt and flour, little by little.  Just enough gluten to get the seeds to stick together.  I shaped them into cookies and deep fried them.  The result was a very light cookie, lighter than a rice cake.  The flavor was all sesame seed, but it wasn't a cookie that you would wolf down.  It's nibble food.  Would you like to try one?

Hi Natty!  How are you?  Are you hungry?  I'm thirsty.  I have a big old jug of lychee syrup sitting in my cooler right now, waiting for sunset when I can slam it.  Dinner isn't all that spectacular, though.  I bought some okra with gravy, and I'll be heating up chunks of roast beef in it to go with my steamed rice.  My stomach doesn't like fancy foods during Ramadan.  It rebels.

Yes folks, I know there have been interruptions in the stream the past few days.  Obviously, whoever is hacking the stream hasn't been chased away and kept away yet.  Assuming my ISP isn't being treacherous.  So today when the Internet went out during Mary's session, I put one of the streams on my backup ISP.  After I did that, the Internet went back to normal.  But I kept the streams separate today, just in case.  I guess having a backup ISP is worth it after all.  It's like having 2 steaks.  Well, I want the steaks too.  Looks like everyone is feasting except me.
