Qur'an 20071231

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

4. But the unbelievers say: "Naught is this but a lie which he has forged, and others have helped him at it." In truth it is they who have put forward an iniquity and a falsehood.

5. And they say: "Tales of the ancients, which he has caused to be written, and they are dictated before him morning and evening."

6. Say: "This was sent down by God who knows the Mystery in the heavens and the earth: verily God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

7. And they say: "What sort of a messenger is this, who eats food, and walks through the streets? Why has not an angel been sent down to himto give admonition with him?"

8. "Or why has not a treasure been bestowed on him, or a garden that he may eat out of it?" The wicked say: "You follow none other than a man bewitched."

9. See what kind of companions they make for thee! But they have gone astray, and never a way will they be able to find!

The Criterion 25:4-9
-------------------------------------------------------------
This was sent down by God who knows the Mystery in the heavens and the earth: verily God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

I bear witness that Allah is the only God, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of God.

Skepticism is not an act of faith. Skepticism is great for human business and debate, but it is inaccurate to point the finger of doubt at others besides oneself regarding the Business of God.

Skeptics of the Qur'an create lies to argue that the Qur'an is a lie. Firstly, they believe the Qur'an was created by a conspiracy of humans. Then they argue that the Qur'an is myth- tales of the past which was somewhat true then became fiction, with a group of writers renewing the fiction.

Look beyond the food that you are about to put in your mouth and the money you have in your pockets, how did it get there? Are humans absolutely self-sufficient? Did they create the dirt that grows the produce, or the metal that makes their coins? If they did, why then is the world running out of natural resources?

When we drive, we can't see a car coming around the bend, but we acknowledge that there probably is one there. Why don't we get skeptical about that? There obviously exists a mystery beyond one's line of sight. While everyone acknowledges the existence of things people can't see, there are still people denying the existence of God.

Of the prophets of God, human skeptics didn't acknowledge their office because the prophets had to eat, walked the streets, were not of a superior species, didn't have enough money, and didn't have enough property. Then they always return to the assertion that the Revelation of God is a revelation of a human being.

To people of Faith, God is the Truth, and there is no other Way. To deny God is to choose to be lost. True, it is hard to snap out of selfish human perceptions. Skeptics of God compound their denial with more denial, and totally lose their way.

Qur'an 20071227

Qur'an 20071227

30. Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that would make for greater purity for them, and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do.

31. And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that they should not display their beauty except what appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms, and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons,or their sisters' sons, or their women, or their slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O you Believers! Turn you all together towards Allah, that you may attain bliss.

The Light 24:30 & 31

------------------------------------------------------------
Modesty.

Everywhere we look around we see, especially among women, wanton displays of their figures, in states of dress and undress. This has become the norm all over the world, not just the USA.

It wasn't always like this: modesty in dress was prevalent all over, even in the USA, as recent as 40 years ago. Nowadays, modesty is only a small aspect of dress. Some would say that it is progress. Let us not forget that primitive tribes and ancient pagan cultures dress similarly. A regression of civilization has occured.

Modesty is simple to me: cover all skin with loose clothing, look at the ground most of the time, and don't talk so much.

I do like to dress really pretty for my spouse, but otherwise I'm grateful I don't have to go around naked. Am I modest? Allah be my judge!

In the 2 verses above we see how different modesty is for men and for women. Also we see the incredible nuance in language as Allah states the limitations in female dress. I am at a loss to tell you exactly what God means by all the detail given: I would just try to follow the orders as simply and explicitly as possible, and pray for forgiveness. For further guidance, please check the arabic Qur'an, and the genuine teachings of the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

I am in awe of the power of a beautiful woman, specifically my spouse. There is definitely some kind of supernatural power that some women have in their beauty. Modesty keeps that power under control, so it doesn't destroy weaker minds and hearts.

In other women not so gifted, the wanton display of their bodies depreciates the power of whatever beauty they do have, into meaninglessness. Very UNsexy.

We are all just one step away from Hell, if it were not for the mercy of God. Modesty helps us control our lusts, and guard our actions thereof.

Lyrics for "King of Emotions"

I've been gone a few days because I'm writing music right now. I'm sorry. Meanwhile, here are the lyrics for

King of Emotions

You think you can stop me

You think you can act as if you don't really care

Just look into my bloodshot eyes

You know I'm always scared

Of God

Street lights, lonely on a saturday

I want you to run away

I want to be there with you

Oh, mother of pearl

Some things last forvever

It could last forever if you want it to

But if you choose to turn me upside down

You know I'll blame it all on you

Woe, I'm the King of Emotions

And you struck me down

Woe, I'm the King of Emotions

Strike me down

Headlights, your daddy's coming home to you

Headlights, a good time

For him to see if you've been true

I want to lie there with you

Oh, mother of pearl

Woe, I'm the King of Emotions

And you struck me down

Woe, I'm the King of Emotions

Strike me down

You think you can stop me

You think you can act as if you don't really care

Just look into my bloodshot eyes

You know I'm always scared

Of God

Qur'an 20071222

67. To every people have We appointed rites and ceremonies which they must follow: let them not then dispute with thee on the matter, but do thou invite to thy Lord, for thou art assuredly on the Right Way.

68. If they do wrangle with thee, say: "Allah knows best what it is you are doing."

69. "Allah will judge between you on the Day of Judgement concerning the matters in which you differ."

70. Knowest thou not that Allah knows what is in the heavens and on earth? Indeed it is all in a record, and that is easy for Allah.

71. Yet they worship, besides Allah, things for which no authority has been sent down to them, and of which they have no knowledge: for those that do wrong there is no helper.

72. When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, thou will notice a denial on the face of the unbelievers! They nearly attack with violence those who rehearse our signs to them. Say, "Shall I tell you of something worse than these Signs? It is the Fire! Allah has promised it to the unbelievers! And evil is that destination!"

73. O humans! Here is a parable set forth! Listen to it! Those on whom, besides Allah, you call cannot create a fly, if they all met together for the purpose! And if the fly should snatch anything away from them, they would have no power to release it from the fly. Feeble are those who petition and those on whom they petition!

74. No just estimate have they made of Allah: for Allah is God that is Strong and Able to carry out God's Will.

Al Hajj 22:67-74
-----------------------------------------------------------

Allah knows best what it is you are doing.

Allah will judge between you on the Day of Judgement concerning the matters in which you differ.

Shall I tell you of something worse than these Signs? It is the Fire! Allah has promised it to the unbelievers! And evil is that destination!

I was asked to write on the purity of the reputation of the prophet Muhammad (peace be on him). This comes after a group of writers attack his character.

The writing process of the advocates and detractors of historical figures is a ritual, and there is nothing wrong with this ritual. However, to convince those writers that they are wrong about the prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) is to make them bear witness that the prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) is a messenger of God. The correct course of action is to ignore their argument, and invite them to God.

The perfect conduct of the prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) is not just a matter of history but a matter of faith. To present evidence and witnesses of the perfect conduct of the prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) to those whose agenda is to destroy him is futility.

The accurate record of history is with God. Human presentation of evidence is flawed by human agenda. A historian is edited. An article writer is biased. It is necessary to note what these writers really care about, and their own character, when they choose to write to destroy a public image. What they worship, so to speak.

For example, a Sign of Judgement Day is the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. This was predicted by the prophet Muhammad (peace be on him). The opponents of the prophet would not care about that prediction until they are met face to face with the event, due to the bias of personal agenda. They will dismiss the prediction, even the fact, as irrelevant, rumor, or insignificant.

These writers, the people and philosophies that they respect, the evidence that they profess, and their agendas are all insignificant to God.

Not to say that the faithful should not protect the public image of the prophet Muhammad (peace be on him). As with other aspects of the Faith, it is an ongoing struggle against evil.

Evidence is solidified by time. Perhaps something will happen to you tomorrow to make you change your mind. Judgement Day will convince everyone when It happens. By then it will be too late to have faith.

Tempe

Tempe is a very pretty town. This town would do well in the tourism industry, because this town is very pretty. The buildings, the birds, the trees, and the people are pretty.

Money has been tight here in the USA because this country owes too much of it. People in the countries that DO have money would want to spend it, and part of them want to travel. They can come here.

Did I mention that the music here is pretty, too? On the streets you hear musicians day and night. It's all great stuff, and there's a huge concentration of music right here in downtown Tempe, and the city has been overall nice to me when I sing outside.

Now there can be a Tempe scene, just like there was a Seattle scene, a New York scene, etc. The music here can be the reason why they come to the USA, and bring back some of those $100 bills.

The internet makes this possible. For me, I write original music for Shadowplay which has a following in international communities like muslims, and Sailor Moon fans, because God was nice enough to give me the internet. Imagine all the creativity here combined!

You have all the music here downtown, and ASU is close by with all the art and theatre there. If we maintain the beauty and freedom that it represents, we may have here in Tempe a nice little tourist trap. Combine that with package deals, like the Grand Canyon and Tombstone to generate wider appeal and more revenue.

One day Walt Richardson will have a 5 page signup sheet for his open mic night, and some dictator's son from middle Africa waiting since noon to sign up.

To summarize, music and art in Tempe can be the focus of a tourist trade, and generate much needed revenue for this community.

Qur'an 20071215

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

114. High above all is Allah, the Lord, the Truth! Be not in haste with the Qur'an before its revelation to thee is completed, but say "O my Lord! Advance me in knowledge."

115. We had already beforehand taken the covenant of Adam but he forgot, and We found on his part no firm resolve.

116. When We said to the angels, "Prostrate yourselves to Adam," they prostrated themselves, but not Iblis: he refused.

117. Then We said, "O Adam! Verily this is an enemy to thee and thy wife, so let him not get you both out of the Garden so thou art landed in misery."

118. "There is therein for thee not to go hungry nor to go naked."

119. "Nor to suffer from thirst nor from the sun's heat."

120. But Satan whispered evil to to him; he said "O Adam! Shall I lead thee to the Tree of Eternity and to a kingdom that never decays?"

121. As the result they both ate of the tree and so their nakedness appeared to them: they began to sew together, for their covering, leaves from the Garden: thus did Adam disobey his Lord, and allow himself to be seduced.

122. But his Lord chose him: God turned to him and gave him Guidance.

123. God said: "Get you down, both of you: all together, from the Garden, with enmity one to another. But if, as is sure, there comes to you Guidance from Me, whosoever follows My Guidance will not lose his way, nor fall into misery."

124. "But whosoever turns away from My Message, verily for him is a life narrowed down, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Judgement."

Ta Ha 20:114-124
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

O my Lord! Advance me in knowledge.

It is impossible for a human mind to grasp all the information of the multiverse. The arrogant may argue that they have both the right and the capability.

God warns us not to cram the information of the Qur'an into our heads as quickly as possible.

The Qu'ran is supposed to be assimilated in stages. I only read 2 pages on an average day; sometimes I follow the timeline of the Qur'an, and sometimes I pick a random spot. Either way the perfection of the Book of God stands, but it is the arabic version of the Qur'an that carries the divine Guarantee of non-corruption.

Here we are taken to the case of Adam. The case of Adam is narrated numerous times in the Qur'an. In this instance, God reminds us of how Adam was weak, and forgot his responsibilty to God.

We are taken to the beginning of the human race, when God created Adam out of elements of earth and water (clay). God commanded the angels to bow down to Adam, and they did.

Iblis is another name for Satan. Satan is a member of the jin race. Satan refused to bow down to Adam because he considered himself superior to the human race.

God bluntly told Adam that Satan was an enemy to him and his wife, and warned Adam not to let Satan get him kicked out of Paradise.

Satan proceeded to do so by convincing Adam to eat of the Forbidden Tree. Satan misled Adam by implying that eating of the Forbidden Tree would grant him a place of immortality- Adam was already there, though he was not aware of it.

Adam and his wife both ate of the Forbidden Tree. But God forgave them, and gave them another chance.

God banished them to live an imperfect life on Earth. "Them" being Adam, Eve, Satan, the human race and the jin race. Here it is shown why there is suffering on Earth: it is because the human race is paying for the error of Adam, for taking the word of Satan over the Word of God.

There is a way to escape misery and to get back to Paradise, which is to follow the Guidance of God. Those who reject the Guidance of God will live clueless lives and will be blind when the Event comes to pass.

The responsibility of inspiration.

The responsibility of inspiration.

Music, art and writing all fall under the category of inspiration. Since one has only so much time, an artist/writer generally has to channel his/her inspiration into business.

What is the responsibility of the one who has inspiration? First, let's examine where all that creativity came from. The obvious answer is that God granted that inspiration.

Humans tend to think, "I thought of it first, the idea is mine!" while forgetting how they got that idea in the first place. Was it a dream? Was it a sudden flash while you were digesting that burrito? Was it an event that you observed while you were waiting for the bus? Was it someone else's idea?

Often we see people on cd covers showing off their bodies and their possessions. Their rationale is that their "ideas" need to be digested by the consumer in a form that the consumer can understand. Then we hear their idea, and it involves the advocation of lust, greed and murder, and we are led to believe that these ideas are elevated. "Business" supercedes God.

In a nutshell, most people want results before faith. These people would add that the suffering of the world is God's fault. But God didn't pull that trigger. God didn't sign that declaration of war. God didn't walk past that beggar without giving even a lousy dollar. People did.

God is the Compassionate One. God enjoins what is good. To demand evidence of this in an argument is to rationalize arrogance, and just plain lazy. Just look around.

Inspiration must be used to promote what is good, to make things better, not worse. Sure, people don't change and life isn't supposed to be easy but don't just assume futility, for that is uninspiring. Don't just give in to the temporary and say, "I might as well serve myself first before I die." To speak in finite terms, perhaps your life may inspire another to promote what is good.

Children! Use your inspiration to serve God, because it will be taken away someday. You don't have to preach. Create compassion and justice, and with the help of God, compassion and justice will be created.

love article

Hello my love!

One might think that love is an elevated thing of the mind and the heart. Why do I think of you all the time? Actually love is a spiritual thing as granted by God, so I think about God all the time and how God granted our love.
Perhaps the mind creates the awareness and the chemicals that could be love. Perhaps the mind creates the castles and gardens that could be love.
For me, the mind is but a control panel for the nuclear bomb that is my heart which God may will to deny from exploding. It is like a hunger to see you happy and strong, to be your happiness and strength. It is like a rage, a torrent of anguish. I want to be there to protect you.
Beauty feels that she is a flower, and there be a time to wilt. God has granted me a certain timelessness, perhaps I can preserve the life of the flower, if God wills. That is what I can do for you, my love.
Thus I think of how God created our love and our awareness of each other, and I pray that my mind will channel the pressure of the depths of these emotions, of longing for you, into something that is good.
Life is imperfect, my love! The goal is to please God and pray that God will grant us happiness together in this life and the hereafter.
You are my soulmate. I love you!

the Two-horned One

In the name of Allah , most Gracious, most Merciful.

83. They ask thee concerning the Two-horned One. Say: "I will rehearse to you something of his story."

84. Verily God established his power on earth, and God gave him the ways and the means to all ends.

85. One way he followed.

86. Until, when he reached the setting of the sun,he found it set in a spring of murky water: near it he found a people: God said: "O Two-horned One! Either to punish them, or to treat them with kindness."

87. He said:"Whoever does wrong, him shall we punish; then shall he be sent back to his Lord; and God will punish him with a punishment unheard of.

88. "But he who believes, and works righteousness- he shall have a goodly reward, and easy will be his task as we order it by our command."

The Cave 18:83-88

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I will rehearse to you something of his story.

To my understanding, the Two-horned One was a conqueror whom Allah had blessed with power.

Allah granted him the freedom to either punish or treat with kindness the people he came across, or conquered.

In this case, he chose to punish the wrongdoers, and defer final judgement to Allah. He chose to reward the ones who had faith and did good deeds.

Lyrics for "Dragonfly"

Dragonfly

You know I wouldn't try to throw my life away

You know I live a lie but the lie is not to stay

For why should it matter to God if I live?

Maybe I can find a way, maybe I will be strong

If there's a law I could obey, how could I last long?

You know how I hate hypocrisy

You know I can't go on treating myself like this

You know I can't go on being who you want me to be

For why should you care 'bout who I am?

You know I can't go on wanting to fall in love

You know it's been so long, don't think I've ever been in love

Now all I can feel is apathy

You know I can't go on wanting to fall in love

You know, it's been so long... don't think I've ever been in love

Don't think I'll ever be in love

But I would just die to fall in love

In the mountians flies a dragonfly

In a couple of days it flies and dies alone

As a starling kills a dragonfly

A dragonfly kills and flies and dies alone

If I write this song about my fear of dying alone, is that so wrong?

You know I can't go on

quran 12052007

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

89. and We have explained to man, in this Qur'an, every kind of similitude: yet the greater part of men refuse except with ingratitude!

90. They say: "we shall not believe in thee, until thou causest a spring to gush forth for us from the earth

91. or thou has a garden of date trees and vines, and causest rivers to gush forth in their midst, carrying abundant water

92. or thou causest the sky to fall in pieces, as thou sayest, against us, or thou bring Allah and the angels before us face to face,

93. or thou have a house of gold or thou mount a ladder right into the skies. No, we shall not even believe in thy mounting until thou send down to us a book that we can read." Say: "Glory to my Lord! Am I aught but a man, a messenger?"-

94. What kept men back from Belief when Guidance came to them was nothing but this: they said, "Has Allah sent a man to be messenger?"

95. Say: "If there were settled on earth angels walking about in peace and quiet, God should certainly have sent them down from the heavens an angel as a messenger."

96. Say: "Enough is Allah for a witness between me and you, for God is well-acquainted with God's servants, and God sees all things."

The night journey 17:89-96
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Glory to my Lord! Am I aught but a man, a messenger?

If there were settled on earth angels walking about in peace and quiet, God should certainly have sent them down from the heavens an angel as a messenger.

My beloved and revered parents

In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.

23. Thy Lord has decreed that you worship none but God, and that you be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor.

24. And, out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: "My Lord, bestow on them Thy mercy even as they cherished me in childhood."

(The night journey, 17:23-24)

My beloved and revered parents.

Dear Allah, bestow on them Thy mercy even as they cherished me in childhood. Please forgive their sins and grant them long, happy and healthy lives. Please grant us a happy reunion soon.
