The Raven / The Crow

I turned the page on my copy of the Qur'an, and it's time to tell the story of the two brothers who presented a sacrifice to Allah again.  Yeah I'm at chapter 5, Al-Maidah (The Repast) again in my Qur'an loop, verses 27-31.  Allah accepted the sacrifice of one brother, but not of the other.  Said the latter to the former, "I will kill you."

Why would God reject the sacrifice made for God?
1.  The sacrifice was made for other than the glory of God (glory of self, for example).
2.  The sacrifice was made by instructions other than the instruction of God.
3.  Worst of all, the sacrifice joined partners of worship with God.

It's easy to know what Allah instructs and commands, just study the Qur'an.  In Islam, you can't have a "mission" then bypass the Qur'an, preferring the opinions of humans.  If you are sincere in mastering the Qur'an, then God will reward you.  If you are not sincere, then don't blame anyone else but yourself.  In the end, those who deserve and those who don't, and every course of our actions has been preordained, that's just how Powerful Allah is.  Do you have faith in that, or do you care?  The stories related in the Qur'an are not "opinions" or "interpretations".  The stories in the Qur'an happened, happen, and happen over and over again.  The righteous brother allowed himself and opened himself up to be killed by his brother.  If that were my situation, I don't think I could do that.  I guess I'm not that righteous.  I have loved ones to protect, and people who rely on me for their livelihood.

We don't get ravens around these here parts, just a lot of crows.  However, I've seen enough ravens in my life to know the difference between a raven and a crow.  I saw a raven enjoying a meal in my yard on August 25, 2015.  Hee hee, I blogged that 😁.  I saw another one some time earlier, which I didn't blog (or can't find the blog).  It was perched on the edge of the dumpster, enjoying a meal.  I love ravens, they were very friendly to me but I didn't get a chick from them like I had hoped.  But few people care about the difference between ravens and crows, anyway.  A large black bird.  "GAGAK".

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

1. Say, "I seek refuge with the Lord of the Dawn,
2. From the mischief of created things,
3. From the mischief of darkness, as it overspreads,
4. From the mischief of those who practise secret arts,
5. And from the mischief of the envious one as he practises envy."

Phew!

What a tiring day.  It may not seem much to anyone spying in, but singing well is not easy.  Especially for 2 hours straight.  How was your day today, Natty?  I'm sure you are busy, so please make sure you eat and rest adequately.  I've got to get back to work right after this- I need to stay online as much as possible right now, and I can't be afk either.  But I'm going to steal a nap first.

Take care, Sweetheart.  😗

Qur'an 20190113

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

18.  The Jews and the Christians say, "We are sons of Allah, and God's beloved."  Say, "Why then does God punish you for your sins?  No, you are but men, of the men God has created.  God forgives whom God pleases and God punishes whom God pleases, and to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is in between, and to God is the final goal."

(The Repast 5:18)

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss

Hi Natty!  How are you doing today?  I have a feeling that today you are more energetic and curious than usual.  Confidence is wonderful, and it makes you more beautiful.  You are MY girl, and please feel secure to know that I love you.  I think the wisest way to be curious, especially in a hands-on situation, is to observe an object which catches your eye from the corner of your eye, from a distance, then do the math in your head as to what its origin and destination is.  You can always catch up to it later when it's not so hectic.

Anyway, it's just another average day to me.  I have a batch of chili bubbling on the stove top, it's absolutely mild today- no chillies in my chili!  Now don't get me wrong, I love spicy food but I have a McDonald's stomach.  So I want to see what happens when I make the chili not hot whatsoever.  Oh dear, just thinking about it makes me bored.  Do you like The Who?  André introduced me to The Who, yeah I admit I was late getting into classic rock, but when I did hear it for the first time, I loved it.  Especially with Keith Moon on drums.  They really should have mixed in his drums super loud in the old recordings.  This is one of the later great songs, when Keith was on the edge of getting fat and lazy.  He was great even when he was fat and lazy!

The computer wants you to watch a movie.  "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 2" (2015).  Wow, looking at Philip Seymour Hoffman, it is so hard to tell sometimes someone who is terminally addicted.  Speaking from my own experience, some people hide it very well.

Qur'an 20190112

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

17.  In blasphemy indeed are those that say that Allah is Christ the son of Mary.  Say, "Who then has the least power against Allah if God's Will were to destroy Christ the son of Mary, his mother and all, everyone that is on the earth?  For to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between.  God creates what God pleases.  For Allah has power over all things."

ONE flea

Hi Natty!  How are you today?  I'm sure you are busy, so please eat adequately, get enough rest, and don't forget to pray.  I just finished my dinner.  It was so simple, yet so good.  Alhamdulillah.  I cubed up some eggplant, onion and a little chopped garlic then fried it all up with some salt and pepper until it became soft, then cooked some chicken breast on top of that mix which I had marinated in soy sauce.  Simplicity, Clarice.  SLUUUURRRRPPPP!!!!

Luca recently came out of heat, and she had licked down her fur until she was almost bald, it looked kind of a poodle cut.  I thought she was in heat and she does that, being that she is cooped up inside the house.  But she kept on scratching herself, up to her chin.  I didn't see any fleas, I didn't think that was the issue, I just thought that she's a nervous kitty, since she has to live with a domineering mother and such.  But last night I saw it: one tiny flea, running away from the chin area back into the dark part of her fur.  A clever one, too.  Small, yet clever.  It had obviously been there for a while, since Luca had already fashioned herself as a cat poodle.  I tried to hunt it down and catch it by smothering it in a swab of rubbing alcohol, but it was nowhere to be found.  Luca kept on jumping onto my table while I was trying to work and scratching herself in a frenzy like that Tasmanian Devil from the Bugs Bunny cartoon, and kicking my keyboard around while I was trying to type.  OK OK Luca, I'll go to the pet store and get some flea drops.  Which I did this morning.  To get rid of ONE flea.  I suppose it's good to be thorough.  At least she's stopped scratching now.

Hi Natty!

How are you today?  Are you having a fabulous time being a gorgeous Rock and Roll Princess?  I hope you are having tons of fun, and keeping safe.  How's the airline food?  I actually like airline food.  It's so neatly packaged.  Sure beats hospital food.  I just had curry pups for dinner.  If you didn't already know, curry pups (or curry puffs) are meat, potato, onions and spices folded over in dough then deep fried, kind of like mini calzones.  But I have no patience for making them small as the locals here do, it is local fare after all.  But no, I can't make them that small.  It agitates me, it makes me want to start screaming and throwing things around, especially if the weather is hot.  So I made them extra large today, about 3 times the size of normal curry pups.  I was about to make them 6 times the size, but I had to give my Mom one and she hates them that big.  I must admit that the experience is different when eating giant sized food, so I can't blame her for that.  I just can't make them small, that's all.

Anyway, a lot is going on for me as a chick singer right now so I have to stay online as much as possible.  And I do stay online, doing mostly fashion work, which is playing dress-up-Barbie with myself.  A guilty pleasure I must admit, I enjoy it so much.
