Happy Thanksgiving

Hi Honey!  How was your Thanksgiving?  Oh, you had to work?  Well, sports figures have to work during everybody else's day off.  That's just the nature of the business.  But I hope you got some rest and some turkey anyway.  I don't really miss turkey all that much.  But there was a brand of roasted turkey which I had to slice up at the restaurant which was absolutely smooth and yummy- they slow-roasted it in chicken broth.  The temperature had to be very low heat, because there was no stress on the meat whatsoever.  You know how poultry meat can get stringy.  I'm sure I can duplicate the process with chicken, but I would need an electric burner to get the heat that low.  The gas burner would fizzle out, unless I keep a close eye on it or course.  Dinner tonight was steamed rice and sardines.  I'm certain there is no difference in the quality of the sardines in spite of the price difference of different brands- it's the sauce that's the key.  I was in a hurry and fighting off cats at the same time, so I didn't do a perfect job on my sauce.  But it was good anyway.  Alhamdulillah.

Hi Natty honey!  I'm sure you didn't have to work on Thanksgiving.  Isn't Thanksgiving for Canada one month earlier?  Not that I celebrate it.  I think Thanksgiving is more a political holiday than a holy day, so you can celebrate which Thanksgiving you want.  How was the turkey?  You didn't eat all that much, huh?  Poultry meat is actually good for your emotions.  So if you are highly strung, then eat some turkey.

Stretching that food dollar again

Hi Honey, how are you today?  You look absolutely ravishing, my darling.  I love you so much.  It's a nice cool day here for me, alhamdulillah.  I feel happiest when it's nice and cool, and I get very drowsy.  I slept in a little this morning, because I was soooo comfortable.  It's nice to be comfortable.  I made some tortillas just now, and I wrapped them up with sausage, egg, onions, mayo and mustard greens inside.  I guess you could say I had breakfast for dinner.  It's just what was left inside the cooler, as I didn't spend any money today.  Which gave me 3 burritos, and if I split them with you it would still be a good meal.  But with baby, well I can't feed it Mexican food.  We would just have to buy formula (if none left), which would still give us one and half burritos each (assuming we ate the same thing).  If the child were old enough to eat Mexican food then we would have a burrito each, but that's not enough food for me and I would get shoulder pains.  Perhaps a side of rice each would fix that.

Hey Natty, how's it going Gorgeous?  Food economics apply to you too Honey, but I guess you're up for turkey right about now.  Suffice to say that I'm not marrying anyone with my current food economics, but inshaAllah we will get what we need.  Oh we don't have turkey here, we would have to import it, and it would have to be halal.  How about a roast chicken?  I know it's not big enough, but then how about 3 roast chickens, and we can squish them all together and make a turkey?  A turkey is a big chicken to me.  The people must know, and I'm sure Allah understands that I cannot allow my wife to live as I do now.  That would be bad politics, and the whole country would look stupid.  I sure would sure like to import some giant lobster from Tasmania.  Do you like lobster?  It's a big shrimp to me.

Oh, this outfit I wore is an attempt at mixing blue and gold.  I think it's a success.  What do you think?

Stretching that food dollar

Hi Erin!  How are you today, Honey?  Do you want to make love?  I do!  Oh... we have to get married first.  I have a lot of lust in me, I hope it's enough.  I estimate that I will have to do drugs to keep up with my wife, because I'm an old man.  Sigh.  Do you have a food budget?  I don't think that you would have to worry about something like a food budget.  It's almost the end of the month, so I have to be very frugal with food.  So it's time to finish what's left in the cooler.  Let's see, I have 3 dough balls, some sausage, a packet of hot dogs, 13 eggs, some bamboo shoots, some rice and potatoes.  Good thing I have lots of cat food.  I do have some money left, but I will need to buy some fish soon for Floofy's fish smoothies- she can't eat solid cat food anymore.  So I rolled up some dough, spread the sausage on it, then closed it up, then deep fried it.  It was OK, it was filling, but it needs marinara sauce and cheese.  I put too much oil in this batch of dough, so it didn't respond normally to deep frying- it was flaky like pastry dough.  I do have another bag of flour, but I can't let this dough go to waste.  This dough is better for tortillas I think, so tomorrow I'll have hot dog and egg burritos.  Sorry, no snapshots of my food!

Hi there Natty honey!  How are you feeling today, you beautiful Sweetheart?  How's the weather?  You must be having a blast of a time, you're so pretty and everyone is paying lots of attention to you.  And they should.  I suppose you're going to have to head up back north for time with the family.  Well, please be safe and travel well.  I'm going to play drums for a bit.  Oh no, I don't have a drum set anymore.  All I have is a little snare drum, it's very old.  I don't know how I'm going to record the next album, perhaps God will grant me a miracle.  InshaAllah.

Qur'an 20171122

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

13.  But if they turn away, say, "I have warned you of a stunning punishment like that of the 'Ad and the Thamud!"

Hm... those clams cost me RM10 for 3 kilos.  You can be sure that most of that weight was the shells.  Do you like clams and shellfish?  I love shellfish, but my tummy sits right on the border of digestion of them or not.  When I buy clams, the first thing I do is rinse or wash them, then steam them in a closed pot to catch the broth.  Those clams generated about half a gallon of clam broth, which is impressive to me because one kilo of ordinary clams usually generate a little over a cup of broth.  The meat was slightly overcooked (I should have left the lid off while I prayed), perhaps I should have shelled them for raw meat, but I wanted that broth.  I had enough broth to make rice vermicelli in soup for lunch today, and some left over for noodles tomorrow.  3 meals for RM10.  Which is OK, considering they were clams.

This show is a rerun.  When you design your home, perhaps you should think about including childproofing.

Qur'an 20171121

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

6.  Say, "I am but a man like you.  It is revealed to me by inspiration, that your God is One God, so stand true to God, and ask for God's forgiveness."  And woe to those who worship many gods.

7.  Those who practice not charity, and who even deny the hereafter.

8.  For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail.

9.  Say, "Is it that you deny God Who created the earth in two days?  And do you join equals with God?  God is the Lord of the worlds."

Big ol' clams!

Hi Honey!  How was your day today?  Nothing out of the ordinary for me, just a lot of housecleaning.  Yeah it has to be done, but if you want to keep me in a good mood you would keep me away from housecleaning.  I was about to finish off the chili for dinner, but I found these huge clams over at the night market!  That made me smile.  If you want to gauge the size of each clam, that's my hand they're resting on.  I've been steaming them for 20 minutes already, I guess at that size they are pretty hard to kill.  I don't want to overcook them though.

Hi Natty honey!  I'm glad to see you happy.  Your happiness makes me happy, and I hope you are happy with me.  Happiness is a glimpse of happiness.  Happiness is no housecleaning.  Happiness is big ol' clams!  I hope I cook them right...
