Letter to Julia 20130723

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

The copy of the Qur'an that I have is a bilingual- in the original Arabic script, with its English translation side by side.  I also have a smaller sized Arabic Qur'an once owned by my Mom, which I use to read out loud every morning before the dawn prayer.  Right now in my smaller Qur'an, I've paused at chapter 63: The Hypocrites.

Again, how do you spot a hypocrite Muslim, Christian, or Jew, Julia?  O you sincere Muslim, inshaAllah?  They usually dress nicely, and are pleasing to the eye, so it's hard to tell when they influence our emotions so.  The Qur'an gives a formula: you can detect a hypocrite by the expression of disgust on his/her face when he/she turns away after talking to you.

Qur'an 20130723

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

23.  Have you turned your vision to those who have been given a portion of the Book?  They are invited to the Book of Allah to settle their dispute, but a party of them turn back and decline.

24.  This because they say, "The fire shall not touch us but for a few numbered days."  For their forgeries deceive them as to their own religion.

25.  But how, when We gather them together against a Day about which there is no doubt, and each soul will be paid out just what it has earned, without injustice?

26.  Say, "O Allah!  Lord of Power!  You give Power to whom you please, and You strip off Power from whom You please.  You endue with honor whom You please, and You bring low whom You please.  In Your Hand is all Good.  Verily, over all things You have Power."

The Family of Imran 3:21-26

O Allah!  Lord of Power!  You give Power to whom you please, and You strip off Power from whom You please.  You endue with honor whom You please, and You bring low whom You please.  In Your Hand is all Good.  Verily, over all things You have Power.

Those who killed the prophets of Allah, and those who killed people who teach just dealing with mankind have no clue of power, and the measure of time.  Allah promises them a grievous penalty.  They will get theirs, if not already.

Letter to Julia 20130722

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

Hi Julia, my love!  I know, I know.  I said I had stuff to do, and I won't be back until Wednesday, but Allah decided that it was more important for me to blog than to do the other things I had planned.  Look like I won't be able to do tasks I had in mind until this coming Thursday and Friday.  One thing you need to know about me Julia, is that I'm trying to master the Qur'an.  The Qur'an is both my day planner, and my newspaper.  So if God says do or say something, then I have to, to the best of my human ability, inshaAllah.  It's a leap of faith, just like my love for you.  That's why I only turn a page of the Qur'an at a time.  Even then, I can't catch everything.  The human mind is very feeble.  Usually, I can only swallow one verse to its entirety, especially as to how it corresponds to the day's happenings.

I guess I also need to cut down on the silliness.  I'm just trying to make you smile a little.  Serious things are occurring right now, so I must try to be serious.  But Ramadan makes me happy, because I love the fasting month.  It's the full moon right now, so half of Ramadan has already gone by.  Time flies!  I've been day dreaming of being with you.  Please pray that Allah brings us together in a happy and secure marriage soon.  You are MY girl.  You are the most beautiful girl in the world, and I love you.

Qur'an 20130721

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

12.  Say to those who reject Faith, "Soon you will be vanquished, and gathered together to hell- an evil bed indeed!"

13.  There has already been for you a Sign in the two armies that met: one was fighting in the Cause of Allah, the other resisting Allah; these saw with their own eyes twice their number.  But Allah does support with God's aid whom God pleases.  In this is a warning for such as have eyes to see.

14.  Fair in the eyes of men is the love of things they covet: women and sons, heaped up hoards of gold and silver, horses branded and cattle, and well-tilled land.  Such are the possessions of this world's life, but in nearness to Allah is the best of the goals.

15.  Say, "Shall I give you glad tidings of things far better than those?  For the righteous are Gardens in nearness to their Lord, with rivers flowing beneath.  Therein is their eternal home, with companions pure, and in good pleasure of Allah.  For in Allah's sight are God's servants."

16.  Those who say,"Our Lord!  We have indeed believed.  Forgive us then our sins, and save us from the agony of the fire."

17.  Those who show patience, firmness and self-control, who are true, who worship devoutly, who spend, and who pray for forgiveness in the early hours of the morning.

18.  There is no god but God.  That is the witness of Allah, God's angels, and those endued with knowledge, standing firm on justice.  There is no god but God, the Exalted in Power, the Wise.

19.  The Religion before Allah is Islam.  Nor did the people of the Book dissent therefrom except through envy of each other, after knowledge had come to them.  But if any deny the Signs of Allah, Allah is Swift in calling to account.

20.  So if they dispute with you, say, "I have submitted my whole self to Allah, and so have those who follow me."  And say to the people of the Book, and those who are unlearned, "Do you submit yourselves?"  If they do, they are in right guidance.  But if they turn back, your duty is to convey the Message.  And in Allah's sight are God's servants.

The Family of Imran 3:12-20.

Soon you will be vanquished, and gathered together to hell- an evil bed indeed!

Shall I give you glad tidings of things far better than those?  For the righteous are Gardens in nearness to their Lord, with rivers flowing beneath.  Therein is their eternal home, with companions pure, and in good pleasure of Allah.  For in Allah's sight are God's servants.

Our Lord!  We have indeed believed.  Forgive us then our sins, and save us from the agony of the fire.

I have submitted my whole self to Allah, and so have those who follow me.

Do you submit yourselves?

Letter to Julia 20130720

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

Or we can just get a treadmill.  Wouldn't that be a little simpler?  We can do some jogging and knead some dough at the same time!  I don't think we could use the treadmill and vacuum clean at the same time.  Unless we get a treadmill that can move around with a remote control.  But still, we can't operate a remote control and a vacuum cleaner at the same time.  I know!  One of us can use the treadmill, while the other oprates the remote control!  We'll take turns, darling.  But wouldn't it be simpler if we take turns exercising and house cleaning?  Wouldn't it be even simpler if we got a maid?

I probably won't be back in to blog until Wednesday, so please forgive me.  I love you, Julia.  But I have some things to do at home, so I won't be able to make the journey to the Internet cafe.  I hope you are enjoying your Ramadan.  It's been fun for me this year, although a little dangerous.  Oh well, just "being there".  Take good care of yourself, my beloved young beauty.

Letter to Julia 20130718

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

Say Julia, do you do much running?  I'm sure you run a lot, being that you were quite an athlete in high school as I understand, and you have such beautiful legs.  Oh, kickboxing?  I don't know.  I don't do any of that.  I have bad feet.  I haven't done much, or any running in years.  I'm only a little good for standing my ground and biding my time.  Maybe I have a little bit of strength in this chimp-like body to destroy things that come within my reach.  But I don't run.  If you like to run, then you know I can't let you go alone.  I will have to putt along by your side on a motorcycle.  If it's my turn to run, then you can drive the motorbike.  I can probably do 50 yards or less at a time.  Whoops, your turn to run!  Maybe we can bag the running, and go sit at a cafe and have some crushed ice.

Letter to Julia 20130717

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

Hey Julia!  How are you feeling, my dearest?  You are my girl, and I love you.  You know, it rained heavily on my way home from yesterday's blog.  I probably should have headed straight home, but I had to get some cheese and cat food.  My Mom gave me a lot of sardines she prepared for bread, and I prefer sardines with bread and cheese.  I found a place here that sells IAMS cat food.  Best cat food in the world!  Well, that's what I used to feed Phantom back in the USA, and the vet said that Chee Cheah can only eat the best cat food.  The cat sniffs at the food then look at me with an expression of disdain, so did Phantom back then, but Phantom never got ill in the 11 years she was with me.  I wanted to stop to buy some burger buns, but by that time the rain started pelting down, so I decided to go straight home and make dough instead.  I rolled up the sardines and cheese in the dough, then deep fried it at low heat.  The dough was too soft ( because my Mom said my last batch of dough was too hard, so I made this batch with more water), and my rolls ruptured.  What a messy meal.  But it tasted good.  I recall someone telling me that the messiest meals are the tastiest meals.  Do you agree?
