A-lister

 

Do you want to be an A-lister, Natty?  Not me.  I'm too damned lazy to jump through those hoops.  Hell I'm too damned lazy to tour, period.  But I bet you have been dreaming about it all your life, huh?  Coming from a showbiz family, and all that.  What is an A-lister, anyway?  According to Google, an A-lister is... wait a minute!  Google doesn't have a definition for A-lister!  Anyway, according to Merriam-Webster, an A-lister is "an individual of the highest level of society, excellence or eminence."  What I see as being an A-lister is one of the highest paid movie stars.  Like Scarlett Johansson.  But since the pandemic, nobody goes to the movies much anymore, certainly not movies as profitable as "Avengers: Endgame".  It doesn't look like the Covid is going to go away anytime soon, so how Biblical (or Qur'anic) that the highest grossing movie of all time was released right before the pestilence.  So the movie studios are going straight to streaming, thus the recent lawsuit between Scarlett and Disney.  However, streaming is an Internet presence.  Right?  So does that mean that an A-lister nowadays is someone with the most powerful Internet presence?  Movies aren't like what they used to be.  Because of the sheer glut of movies available nowadays.  I don't even care if they're free or not anymore.

Hi Natty!  How are you today, my love?  I hope you are well and having a splendid time.  I didn't mean to, but it turned out to be quite a lazy day for me.  First off, the weather was ice and cold in the morning so I woke up late.  I did some housecleaning, then went to buy takeout lunch but they were closed, so I made eggs and beans instead.  It was still cool in the afternoon, and that made a nice nap.  I felt like a cat!  But my responsible side took over in the evening, and I made ready to cut the grass.  While grumbling to myself anout the labor, I tried to start to weed whacker but it wouldn't start.  Hm.  Looks like I would in the very least have to replace the spark plug.  So I had an early dinner (a simple fries with reheated roast beef dinner) and here I am right now, writing a letter to my Sweetie before I take a shower and possibly another nap.  I need to get someone else to cut the grass, so I can spend more labor in the kitchen.  That would take no brains to accomplish, only bucks.  And my doing more cooking benefits the community!  MashaAllah.

Chili cheeseburgers or the Domino Effect

 

Natty, that's a nice suit!  And you look absolutely great in it.  I love a woman who looks great in a suit.  How are you today, by the way?  I hope all is cool and calm with you.  Do you like beans?  I'm pleased to report that my beans were successful.  Vegetarian, too!  No meat nor sugar.  Just beans, onions, curry spices, salt, with blended pickled soybeans and green hot chilli peppers.  The pickled soybeans make a huge difference.  My latest batch still needs at least a another week before it's ready, but I had to use some now for the beans.  Thus I had chili cheeseburgers for dinner.  So messy, so good!  Now I want chili cheese dogs.  I know of some jumbo hot dogs that go for about RM20 a pack, but they're so good!  And if I got hot dogs, then I would need to make sauerkraut.  Oh, what a domino effect!

The big deal again

 

Ooh Honey I'm sorry, I messed up.  The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is in Cleveland!  It goes to show how apathetic I've become towards travel.  And towards awards.  But it's a good thing you are young enough to enjoy that aspect of your work.  You are now the ambassador of the United States to the rest of the world, even though you're Canadian!  I had to manipulate my work so I would stay put in one place, so I can be with my wife and family 24/7.  Rather, I followed the orders God gave me by inspiration so alhamdulillah.  But why Cleveland?  I don't understand that.

My cats have been very pleased with my quick fix solutions, in particular my roast beef.  I don't give them any of the meat (they live such a good life, I'm afraid they might get obese) but they wait enthusiastically to lick the frying pan when I'm done reheating the stuff.  Next up is beans.  I can't find pinto beans here, but red beans are close enough.  At first, I wanted to cook them until they mush like the refried beans in cans that we find at US grocery stores.  But I stopped short of that, because I've yet to add the flavoring.  I want to keep it vegetarian, then use meat as a separate element to my quick meal.  Fry up a burger then reheat the beans then wolf them down, you know what I mean?  I'm thinking to flavor the beans with diced onions, curry spices with blended pickled soybeans and green hot chilli peppers.  What do you think of that?  I don't think the cats would be interested in the beans, though.

Pomegranate

 Natty, you are as pretty as a picture!  At first I thought that was Amsterdam, then I found out that it's Milwaukee.  I've never been to neither!  You're blessed to be a high-fashion model.  Isn't that where the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is located?  Did you go there?  Oh, I love that mirror round thingy in the 5th photo!  That would make a nice home decoration, don't you agree?  So how did your brother do in that sports event?  Best wishes!

I went out this evening to buy a pomegranate.  I came home with a pomegranate, 3 kilos of mangosteens, 3 kilos of potatoes, 2 kilos of red onions, 200g of green hot chilli peppers, 2 kilos of cooking oil, and a can of tomato puree.  Actually it was either dates or pomegranates.  Dates are easier to find, but I don't like dates.  Ya Allah, please forgive me!  I know your Prophet (peace be on him) loved dates, but I can't stand them!  They hurt my teeth!  So I opted for a pomegranate.  Want some?  Open your mouth wide and I'll toss some in there!

Miniskirts!

 I love miniskirts!  Pink and yellow!  You look absolutely marvelous, my darling.  Such gorgeous legs.  Don't snap too hard now, you might hurt someone including yourself.

Saturday is gown day, so Mary didn't wear a mini today.  She loves minis too, especially because she can't wear them in real life.
