"What is she doing in there?" "Why won't she let us watch?" "Maybe she's doing drugs in there?" etc etc... I suppose those are some supposed presuppositions of people when you hide yourself away to pray. You do have a direct line to God, you know? No human can know what you plead for from God, when you make contact with your heart. Not even me, though I long for that you long for me. The 5 daily prayers are the trademark of a Muslim: it can be done quick n' easy if you're on the run, but they must be done. Don't let anyone con you into treating prayers as optional. They'll take your soul if you let them, but don't you let them.
This is certainly a level over those materialists, who believe that all others perceive is their wealth. And they use their wealth to squash the faithful, they would spend great amounts of their wealth just to oppress one person. I suppose it's for material gain, but how can honor be considered material? All honor is with Allah, anyway. And it's so hard to jump on the bandwagon when one has scoffed at it before. The prophet (peace be on him) forgave the people who opposed him, and those who tried many times to assassinate him and his followers. I'm not the prophet (peace be on him). I'm just a musician.
And you are my mate, my Julia. My reflection, my significant other. Please treat me kindly, nd my work too. Oh, the controversy, the babble! What could you be up to next, Julia? What are you thinking?

Letter to Julia 20110627
Oh dear Julia, I'm getting my dates mixed up lately... to tell you the truth, sometimes I don't even know what day it is. It's all this free time (which I love, alhamdulillah), I seem to be caught in a time warp.
I'm sure you are working hard. I am a natural worker, I stopped school to go to work, I even relax by working. As the result, all my knowledge was derived from the need to adapt to my work, as opposed to being tutored. I suppose Allah tutored me, and the knowledge given by Allah is the best. Why do we work so hard? When I was younger, I was like most others you would find in my field: a reckless clown, but a hard worker. But all that hard work only took me up to a certain point, which I could not pass. There was something I was not aware of, which was not a formal education, because I saw many others with degrees stuck at the same place as I. Sure, show business is tough. Some say that only a few people hold the best positions, and they don't give it away, except maybe to kinfolk. As a result, I was isolated. So I took my relationship with God more and more seriously, until it became my agenda, to please Allah with music. Allah has been my only friend through many hardships. I wish I had attained awareness when I was young, then I wouldn't have made so many errors. But I have to do the best with what Allah gives me.
We cannot take our religion to be mere amusement and play, and put our work for material gains above all else. Forget all those other people Julia, as God forgets them, as they forget God. Please take your religion seriously. It's not just that I cannot marry you unless you become a Muslim, but you must be sincere in your relationship with God, or you will harm us both. Please maintain your prayers, and don't pray where people can see you unless it's a group prayer. Hide.

Letter to Julia 20110626
Dearest Julia, how's life in high fashion today? Most certainly, beautiful clothes suit you, as you are so lovely, my dearest. I certainly need some nice new clothes, especially shoes, for everything I have has been worked to the bone. I have something new for the next Eid, which is about 2 months away. Yes, fasting month is next month or so. I wonder if you have tried fasting? Just do your best with what God has given you: as long as your worship is sincere then insyaAllah, everything will be OK.
While I have stepped down in food and clothing, Chee Cheah has stepped up. Yeah, I adore cats, so I always spoil the ones who stay with me. But in this case, I can't afford packaged cat food, so I make fresh food for little Chee Cheah. My staple right now is rice and mackerel. Whenever I buy mackerel, I fillet the whole lot, and separate the flesh, the bones, the roe, and the heads, then keep them in the freezer. The fish heads I fry up until crispy for her, and I also give her a whole fillet which I steam up with the rice. The fish is best for her skin and fur I think. I also mix up some fish with fresh rice for her. This morning, I served her leftovers, and she gave me a "What?" look. Hold on, let me see if she finished her food... no, she didn't. What a little snob.
But it would be nice to have some new clothes and shoes. I don't pass anymore, so dresses are out of the question until the next life. Which probably makes you happy: less competition! Playing drums was my downfall: since I started playing drums, I became bulky, and God gave me a body to bust skulls with. Also, I'm certainly not young anymore. You be the pretty one for both of us Julia. Besides, I'd rather stare at you than at the mirror. Anyway, I could sure use a fresh pair of jungle boots, and some Doc Martens. Jungle boots are made in China so I might find some here, but Doc Martens are impossible to come by around these here parts.
As I watch Shadowplay TV, I see many fashion designers. I really like Vera Wang... she's so bubbly! I also think Carolina Herrera is very stylish. Oddly enough, I don't see Karl Lagerfeld on TV at all. Isaac Mizrahi comes up a lot. He seems like a nice enough guy, but he should be careful about his food, otherwise he will be busting out of his clothes, which is unflattering for the clothes. But then again, he's been hanging out with some spiritual losers. I don't hang out anymore, I just work. I guess that means that I only hang out with children, and cats. But I would like to have some new clothes anyway.
Don't these guys kind of look like thugs? Nowadays, the thug look is chic. But it also adds some flair to the topic of the song they're singing.

Qur'an 20110626
In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.
28. When they do something that is shameful, they say: "We found our fathers doing so," and "Allah commanded us thus." Say, "No, Allah never commands what is shameful. Do you say of Allah what you know not?"
29. Say, "My Lord has commanded justice, and that you set your whole selves at every time and place of prayer, and call upon God, making your devotion sincere as in God's sight. Such as God created you in the beginning, so shall you return."
30. Some God has guided. Others have deserved the loss of their way, in that they took the evil ones, in preference to Allah, for their friends and protectors, and think that they receive guidance.
31. O children of Adam! Wear your beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer. Eat and drink, but waste not by excess, for Allah loves not the wasters.
32. Say, "Who has forbidden the beauty of Allah, which God has produced for God's servants, and the things, clean and pure, for sustenance?" Say, "They are, in the life of this world, for those who believe, purely for them on the Day of Judgment." Thus do We explain the Signs in detail for those who understand.
33. Say, "The things that my Lord has indeed forbidden are: shameful deeds, whether open or secret, sins and trespasses against truth or reason, assigning of partners to Allah, for which God has given no authority, and saying things about Allah of which you have no knowledge."
34. To every people is a term appointed. When their term is reached, not an hour can they cause delay, nor can they advance.
The Heights 7:28-34

Letter to Julia 20110622
Hi Julia, my beloved. Are you being a good girl? I am doing OK, and I thoroughly enjoy having lots of time, broke as I am. I made some prawn injections last night (oh all right, I suppose the correct name is croquettes) with chopped shrimp heads mixed into the batter. And you know how much I love shrimp heads. I must buy some jumbo shrimp in the future, insyaAllah.
Are you making some Muslim friends as I asked you to? Don't try too hard, just do your best. If you have followed this path of adventure, then you would have discovered that there are many sects of Islam, many "isms" per se. Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) counted 73 different sects of Islam by the time Judgement Day comes about. The correct one is that of prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) and those who follow him. Sure, anyone can say that they follow the prophet (peace be on him), but who can PRECISELY follow him, and the commands of the Qur'an, without distortion? I would certainly be hesitant to follow his followers. But as for the sects, just leave them alone. God will deal with them on a one-to-one basis.
I'm sure you can already see all the corruption prevalent in daily life, that is why it is so unique for you to be good, and be righteous, because everyone else accepts the corruption to be "normal", and "practical". Certainly you are being tried for the gift of great beauty that God has given you, so be good, and righteous. No one else can bear your burdens but you, so be good, and righteous. And be proactive in being good, and righteous. For example, if someone is warned about a giant army amassing against them, would they:
1. Wait until it becomes a problem before they do anything,
2. Say, "I'm too small and helpless", then lie back and allow themselves to be pounded,
3. Make preparations (with rhetoric in support) to join them?
Whatever happens, you are my girl, and I love you. Please pray for us, my love.

Qur'an 20110622
In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.
158. Are they waiting to see if the angels come to them, or your Lord, or certain of the Signs of your Lord! The day that certain of the Signs of your Lord does come, no good will it do to a soul to believe in them then, if it believed not before, nor earned righteousness through its Faith. Say, "Wait you: we too are waiting."
159. As for those who divide their religion, and break up into sects, you have no part in them in the least. Their affair is with Allah. God will, in the end, tell them the truth of all they did.
160. He that does good shall have ten times as much to his credit. He that does evil shall be recompensed according to his evil. No wrong shall be done unto them.
161. Say, "Verily, my Lord has guided me to a Way that is straight, a religion of Right, the Path of Abraham, the true in faith, and he joined not gods with Allah."
162. Say, "Truly, my prayer and my service of sacrifice, my life and my death, are for Allah, the Cherisher of the worlds."
163. No partner has God. This am I commanded, and I am the first of those who bow to God's Will.
164. Say, "Shall I seek for cherisher other than Allah, when God is the Cherisher of all things? Every soul draws the results of its acts on none but itself. No bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another. Your goal in the end is towards Allah. God will tell you the truth of the things wherein you disputed."
The Cattle 6:158-164

Wait you: we too are waiting.
Verily, my Lord has guided me to a Way that is straight, a religion of Right, the Path of Abraham, the true in faith, and he joined not gods with Allah.
Truly, my prayer and my service of sacrifice, my life and my death, are for Allah, the Cherisher of the worlds.

Most people want the Signs of God to manifest in reality before they have any faith. They want to be CERTAIN, they want something they can see, and touch. It's not enough for them to be warned that they are going to get their asses kicked, they just want to get their asses kicked. Only then will they believe. But that's not faith: that's MATERIALISM.
