Meatballs

Hi Natty!  How are you , Honey?  Keeping busy?  Please keep yourself safe and healthy.  I love you!  It would be another average day here for me, but I've been short on sleep because I'm suddenly into doing some programming.  Just out of the blue, I guess.  So I'm tired and slightly cranky, but I can't fall asleep because my mind is active.  I planned to make curry pups for dinner but when the time came to cook, I just couldn't be bothered.  I bought takeout lunch today for the same reason.  So I had ground beef and potatoes ready, instead of curry pups I made beef and potato meatballs.  I hardly ever make meatballs.  The only times I made meatballs was when I had some of my home made halal beef sausage ready (from making pizza) to roll into meatballs to plop into simmering hot marinara sauce and use as spaghetti sauce.  My beef and potato meatballs were OK.  Needs some fine tuning, but acceptable as they are.  Do you eat meatballs?

Oh!  I need a nap!  Gotta go!

There were some collisions at the wrists with Mary's outfit today, but these snapshots were so good I had to keep them, imperfections and all.

Kitty litter

Hi Natty!  How's it going today, Honey?  How's your tummy?  Want some fries?  Fries are the best!  I became a fries addict over last Ramadan.  I can't handle smoothies though, I'm sorry.  When we make smoothies, you're going to have to eat all of it.  I manage to finish the task I begun yesterday.  All I had to do was hacksaw a branch stump, then I was able to use some industrial power cable to twist that heavy branch to break.  Now it's away from the perimeter with the neighbor's yard and won't accumulate creepers, plus it's easier for me to break down and burn.

A lot of the locals here are very fanatical about their cats for some reason.  Seriously, it's almost like a religious cult.  I remember once there was a cat show, and it was packed full of people.  Then I saw people touching and petting the cats, since then there has never been another cat show here.  It goes to say that cat products here are very profitable.  There several varieties of local cat food, and a couple of local brands of clay kitty litter that sell out consistently.  Yesterday I went to get some kitty litter, and there was none except for expensive Siamese stuff, and too little of it.  I asked the girl, "Where's all the kitty litter?"  She showed me some Tidy Cat hiding under a shelf.  So Lookie and Adolf Kitler have to use Tidy Cat now, and none of that local stuff.  I don't like these forced endorsements, but I guess it's only kitty litter.

Hey, it looks like MonoNeon has jumped on the bandwagon of putting music to rants!

I'm a lumberjack

Hi Natty!  How are you feeling today, Honey?  You must be busy, what with a sparkling new Masters to point at the flaring nostrils of your Society.  "Here, take a sniff of this!"  Well, whatever it is you're doing, please take good care of your health and safety because you are so very precious to me.  While you were busy being a beautiful girl, I went back to tackle that fallen tree at the side of my grandfather's old house.  Today's task was a little more difficult.  There was a large branch that was hanging over the scrub that borders the neighbors yard, and I need to move it away from the perimeter before it gets overrun with creepers.  All I had was a machete, and a teeny weeny bit of strength.  No, I don't have a chainsaw.  I needed to get this task done today because tomorrow is laundry day, and I need to chuck the long sleeved tee (mosquito protection) I would be wearing into the wash.  It would be drenched with sweat.  I managed to get some minor branches removed, then I had to tackle that thick part.  Which I did with patience, but the branch was weighted towards the neighbor's yard and I couldn't twist it off.  Not yet, it needs more work.  Maybe I should use that axe I keep at the head of my bed.  I keep it there just in case I need to kill something.  Nah, I don't think I need it.  InshaAllah.

The indoor grill

Hi Natty!  How are you today?  Still celebrating, or are you getting busy?  I hope you are well, and enjoying yourself.  It's just an ordinary day over here for me.  I wanted chicken breast for lunch today, but I didn't want it too moist.  So the way to get that is to grill it.  But I didn't want to fire up the outdoor grill just for one chicken breast.  I thought if I slowly heated up some charcoal in a pan then it would provide a nice grill.  It did work, but too slowly.  The chicken did cook, but had a jerky texture from the slow grill.  Plus, I couldn't wait anymore because I got hungry so I ate the chicken kabobs unfinished.  It was good though.  Next time, I'll raise the heat up.  Practice, practice, practice!

Congratulations Honey!

I'm so proud of you!  You have achieved more than I could ever dream of.  You have that look on your face that says "Oh no, what next?"  Don't be afraid Natty, everything is going to work out just awesome for you and us inshaAllah.  Maybe you're thinking of what to do next.  Doesn't your society have plans for you?  What I want is for you to keep yourself safe, unharmed and healthy whatever you do, while you wait for me to have paid for our marriage.  Please trust me, I'm all for you body and soul!  Better yet, trust in Allah to bring us together.  I love you with all of my heart.

I need stronger coffee

Oh, pretty girl!  In pink pants!  Or are you a boy who wears pink pants?  That must be California I'm looking at, the survivors of a wildfire.  That ground sure looks dry to me, but I don't think there is enough kindle there to sustain another fire at this time.  Wish I were there with you, my love.

Ugh... I need stronger coffee.  These coffee sticks don't have the muscle to keep me awake while Mary Unknown7 sings.  I felt like my heart was going to stop.  It it just me, or does anyone else who listens to her have the same problem?  I got a sinus cavity infection about 2:30 am.  I took one too many pills to combat it, so I woke up at 9:45 am later and felt sluggish all day.  Recent events made me a bit paranoid, and that made me miss a delivery.  It's just a free cell phone, nothing I really needed, but it's nice to have another toy.  I did manage to leave the house today.  I did some shopping for my mother, and I bought more potatoes.  Dammit, I forgot to buy more coffee!

Coincidence

Hi Natty!  How are you today?  I hope you are well, and everything is easy for you.  It's Sunday, and busy as usual.  I cleaned my mother's bedroom in the morning, then I had leftovers for lunch.  The Internet cut out 20 minutes into Mary Unknown7's set today.  If it had been a hack then it was a lame one, because the Internet was back up and running 20 minutes later.  16 hours earlier, Israel blew up a building that housed some global media organizations.  Note that the target was neither Hamas nor Palestine.  The target deserves part of the blame in this case.  If they were to pool all their resources into one spot during a war, of course it would become a military target.  It was a lame hack, though.  Perhaps the media would learn to spread out their base over a larger area.  This is the Internet age, one could run a media center out of an outhouse if need be.

I spent the evening breaking down the tree that had fallen alongside my grandfather's old house.  It has been raining a lot lately, so I had to cover all my skin with clothing and wear a hat because the air was thick with mosquitoes.  The dangerous type too, the black and white mosquitoes.  Please remember this mosquito, Natty.  It is extremely dangerous.

The mosquitoes were overwhelming me, so I had to start a fire somehow to get some smoke happening.  Good thing the tree was rotted out, that the rain didn't have much effect on it and I was able to burn it up.  I discovered the cause of death of the tree: termites.  The crown was enormous, and all I could do was snap off bits and pieces of it to throw into the fire.  I managed to clear out a lot of the smaller branches today.  It was a blessing that the tree fell perfectly parallel to the old house without killing anything, not even another plant.  It was a blessing, not a coincidence.
