Qur'an 20090228

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

100. Say, "Not equal are things that are bad and things that are good, even though the abundance of the bad may dazzle you. So fear Allah, o you that understand, that you may prosper."

Qur'an 20090224

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

74. Why turn they not to Allah, and seek God's forgiveness? For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, most Merciful.

75. Christ, the son of Mary, was no more than a messenger. Many were the messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They both had to eat their food. See how Allah does make God's Signs clear to them. Yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth!

76. Say, "Will you worship, besides Allah, something which has no power either to harm or benefit you? But Allah: God it is that Hears and Knows all things."

77. Say, "O people of the Book! Exceed not in your religion the bounds trespassing beyond the truth, nor follow the vain desires of people who went wrong in times gone by, who misled many, and strayed from the Even Way."

O people of the Book! Exceed not in your religion the bounds trespassing beyond the truth, nor follow the vain desires of people who went wrong in times gone by, who misled many, and strayed from the Even Way.

Qur'an 20090223

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

68. Say, "O people of the Book! You have no ground to stand upon unless you stand fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that has come to you from your Lord." It is the revelation that comes to you from your Lord, that increases in most of them their obstinate rebellion and blasphemy. But sorrow you not over people without faith.

69. Those who believe, those who follow the Jewish, and the Sabians, and the Christians: any who believe in Allah, and the Last Day, and work righteousness- on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

Qur'an 20090221

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

59. Say, "O people of the Book! Do you disapprove of us for no other reason than that we believe in Allah, and the revelation that has come to us, and that which came before, and that most of you are rebellious and disobedient?"

60. Say, "Shall I point out to you something much worse than this, by the treatment it received from Allah? Those who incurred the curse of Allah and God's wrath, those of whom God transformed into apes and swine, those who worshipped evil: these are worse in rank, and far more astray from the even Path!"

The Repast 5:59-60

"People of the Book": the Qur'an is the Book too, right? I assume this includes people who call themselves "Muslim".

"Apes": lawless, buffoons, everything is a joke.

"Swine": gluttony, gross and excessive living.

The story of Cain and Abel

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most merciful.

Jealousy. Everyone feels it. An emotion, and a motivator. It motivates to destroy. It is the stuff of much murder, and war. It knows no age limit: a waitress once related to me of how her 2 small boys get jealous of each other, and hurt each other. It is mentioned repeatedly in the Qur'an, as a source of strife. It is a common tool used by Satan to get humans to destroy each other.

The jealous one thinks, "I don't know, I just feel jealous. Why should he get all the good things? I don't think it's fair. I'm just as good as, or better, than him. That's just the way I feel. I can't change the way I feel. I can't help it, so fuck you."

The way to quell jealousy is to be grateful with what God gives you. Sure, it's not easy... life isn't supposed to be easy. Of course, if you have no faith, you can just be enslaved to your jealousy, and the only way to deal with you is in a military fashion. If you do have faith, it means that you are not grateful for what God has given you. And if you can't get rid of the feeling, that just means that you never have been, and never will be grateful for what God gives you.

Cain and Abel were the 2 sons of Adam. They both presented a sacrifice to Allah, but Allah only accepted one. The one that was accepted was the one from Abel, the younger brother. Cain said to Abel, "I will kill you." Abel replied, "Surely, Allah does accept the sacrifice of those who are righteous." Cain's sacrifice was not accepted because he wasn't righteous!

Furthermore, Abel said to Cain, "If you do use your hands to kill me, I will not use my hands to kill you, because I fear Allah, the Cherisher of the worlds. For me, I intend for you take my sins as well as your own, for you will be among the companions of the fire, and that is the reward of those who do wrong."

Since Cain had no faith to begin with, he went ahead and murdered his own brother, and left the body in the open to rot. Then Allah sent a raven (a raven is bigger than a crow), or a crow, and the bird scraped the ground around the body to show Cain how to bury it. Cain said, "Woe is me! Was I not even able to be as this raven, and hide the shame of my brother?"

Only then, did he feel regret.

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

1. Say, "I seek refuge with the Lord of the Dawn,
2. From the mischief of created things,
3. From the mischief of darkness, as it overspreads,
4. From the mischief of those who practise secret arts,
5. And from the mischief of the envious one as he practises envy."

Qur'an 20090701

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

5:18 The Jews and the Christians say, "We are the sons of Allah, and God's beloved." Say, "Why then does God punish you for your sins? No, you are but men: of the men God has created, God forgives whom God pleases, and God punishes whom God pleases, and to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between. And unto God is the Final Goal."

Qur'an 20090601

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

5:17 In blasphemy indeed are those that say that Allah is Christ, the son of Mary. Say, "Who then has the least power against Allah, if God's Will were to destroy Christ the son of Mary, his mother, and all- everyone that is on earth? For to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between. God creates what God pleases. For Allah has power over all things."

Qur'an 20090401

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

5:4 They ask you what is lawful to them. Say, "Lawful unto are things good and pure, and what you have taught your trained hunting animals, in the manner directed by Allah. Eat what they catch for you, but pronounce the name of Allah over it. And fear Allah, for Allah is swift in taking account."
