Jazz blues funk.  Sorry, I forgot the funk part.  But you don't really play that much funk per set do you, maybe 2 or 3 songs?  I hope you're getting lots of support from the locals for your 4th of July show in Nashville.  

I don't wander, thus I'm a local.  I'm a servant of Allah.  I stream the Qur'an globally, and I serve Allah with music.  I wish I could buy musical and computer equipment.  I'm really broke though, I can barely pay my bills and I have to prepare my own meals.  This is a predominantly Muslim country, but I haven't received any financial support to strengthen my position against the enemies of Allah.  I only have enough to pay bills and stay alive.  Of course I'm not allowed to ask.

Everyone is on a timer and when time's up, there will no more getting away.  Ya Allah, please forgive and protect the sincere believers.

Did I ever tell you I used to be a drum teacher at Yamaha?  No more though.  I don't qualify anyway, and I hate teaching brats that don't wanna learn.  Plus my feet have become huge and useless for drums.  Although it is an artistic statement that may be impossible to copy...

Would I get a ridiculous drum set?  Maybe.  Ridiculous is a point of view.  My current drum set is ridiculous, because I don't really have one.  My favorite part of the video above is when he yanks on the rope to a bell with his teeth!

Homesick

 

So you finally figured out that life on the road is lonely.  You finally figured out that you can get lonely in a crowd.

I first got homesick when I was about 17.  I don't get homesick anymore, because I don't leave home other than to go to the mosque or run errands.  I don't like to leave my cat family.  They're naughty and stinky, but I love them so much.  This is the only photo where I have them all together.  Mama cat had a nervous habit of over grooming as you can see in the picture, but she stopped doing that after she had all her kittens.  Today my boy Otto isn't well.  He's showing symptoms of kidney disease, and I need to take him to the vet.  Please pray for my kitty.

I swear I can hear autowah on the second one.  So how do you like Seiji Igusa?  He's one of those bedroom musicians, I guess.  I've only seen news of his playing out live once, and he didn't look too happy.  Maybe he will change that in the future.  Oh wait... That was Ichika Nito.

I would call you a social musician, Grace.  I don't think it's about playing live on stage: I did that myself for many years.  Other people don't really inspire me anymore.  Not to the point of where I want to do guest appearances for them, at least.  Too many crappy memories, perhaps.
