I love ramen!

 

Natty, you're so beautiful!  You're looking mighty sharp and confident, Honey.  I guess you are all business right now, huh?  People need you.  I need you too.  So please don't forget about me.  Yes Honey, I cut the grass this evening.  By the side of the road, where the politicians put their posters and flags.  They left a few bamboo stakes behind, but it wasn't a big deal.  I was able to pull them out easily.  I had just enough time to cook and eat my dinner.  It was spaghetti in ginger oil with beef and eggplant.  It was quite successful, you must try it sometime.  Olive oil would have been better, but I can't afford that.  So I used palm oil instead.

I had ramen for lunch.  I love ramen!  Broth is key for good ramen, especially in my zone where all that's available for the noodles are ramen bricks.  Now you don't have to use pig to make the broth, folks.  Just use beef, chicken or lamb instead.  As you can see in the photo, I used a beef bone.  The nail, specifically.  This was the 6th time I used that bone for broth, as you can see it's falling apart, and the gelatin is oozing out.  That's the best part!  In the video, you can see that they put a lot of vegetables along with the meat and bones.  What do they do with all those veggies?  They usually throw that stuff away.  Sometimes they use dried fish for the broth, and they throw that away too, which I think is a waste.  I would have fried up the fish to a crisp then used it as a topping.  Sometimes they use big heavy sheets of seaweed, and I bet they throw that away too.  They don't even reuse it.  What a crime!  Today I blended all that stuff you see in the bowl together, and used it as broth.  It was successful.  You want some ramen, Natty?

Bitcoin

 

Hi Natty!  How are you feeling, Honey?  I hope you are feeling great and everything is running smoothly for you.  I was watching your slideshow before I started typing my little essay on Bitcoin this morning.  You have such a beautiful soul, and I love you with all of my heart.  You are the most beautiful girl in the world to me.

Let's see if I understood Bitcoin.  Bitcoin is a string of data the size of one megabyte known as a "blockchain".  This data is "mined" by computers from the global network, then the miner is paid in Bitcoin.  The data itself is transactions made in Bitcoin.  These transactions are recorded and verified by a network of computers, effectively bypassing the banking system.  There is a finite amount of Bitcoin, making it similar to gold.  This seems like a great concept, but unfortunately Bitcoin's greatest strength is also its greatest weakness: customers are humans not computers.

The first Bitcoin was worth 0.0008 USD (as far as I remember studying).  Of course this value would increase with more people "buying into" Bitcoin.  One way for a Bitcoin owner to do that is to buy one's own Bitcoin at massive amounts and prices, and do so by giving oneself loans in cryptocurrency.  Of course, interest is charged on such loans.  Banks do something similar with regular money and call it a "financial product".  And since it's cryptocurrency, one can just make up some play money then issue the loan with that.

Commodities provide the materials that make the products that cater to basic human existence (food, shelter, sex, weapons), all other products are subsidiary even though we regard them as necessary.  Especially in this tech era.  Then we need money to buy these necessary and unnecessary things.  Unlike agriculture, interest and cryptocurrency don't offer anything material: they just provide the money to buy it, if it were available.  You can't eat Bitcoin.  Then the excess money in the hands of the few creates a glut, and now we have global inflation.

So what's the solution?  Obviously, a global blanket abolition of interest.  Which of course, is impossible.  Not only because it messes with the food, shelter, sex and weapons already paid for, but because of the mentality of greed: a solution is NOT a solution if it didn't facilitate profit.  The other side of the coin is to get our asses kicked by ourselves.  And all humans understand getting their asses kicked.  I'm sure they would say the same thing they said in 2008: "Bring it on!"  As for Bitcoin, perhaps there could be an AI to investigate and arbitrate each transaction to weed out any human corruption.  Ahahahahaha....

Hi Natty!  How are you, Honey?  I hope you are having fun over there, and keeping safe and healthy.  Whew!  It feels weird being back on this blog after being away for so long.  I almost don't know what to say.  I just had a huge pasta dinner!  You would be surprised at the size of the pile of angel hair that was on my iron plate.  It was angel hair in marinara sauce with beef and eggplant.  This was the last serving of the marinara sauce I made at the top of the month.  It's so much cheaper to make your own sauce than to buy it.  That was 4 large beefsteak tomatoes and a can of tomato paste.  The basil came from my yard, and I had already had all the other spices.  Which made 7 servings, an 8 oz jar is usually 2 servings for me.  And I can put down a huge amount of pasta at a time.  I must be Italian or something.  You want some pasta, Honey?

That white rabbit came back to hang out on my porch again after I wrote to you yesterday.  I had just finished posting the letter then I stepped out of the house to go to the mosque and there it was, feasting on my mint.  It's actually my nephew's rabbit: he said it can open up its cage by itself.  So I put the rabbit in my basket and gave it back to my nephew, told him to fix the cage then return my basket.

Adolf Kitler has been crying all day because I covered up the missing glass that he broke, and I wouldn't let him out to beat up the other cats on the street.  We can't let you beat everybody up just because you have the strength to spare and you enjoy doing it.  It's called "oppression".  So he's been inside the house, howling all day.
