Qur'an 20190501

In the name  of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

51.  Say, "Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us: God is our Protector."  And in Allah let the believers put their trust.

52.  Say, "Can you expect for us other than one of two glorious things?  But we can expect for you either that Allah will send you punishment by God Self or by our hands.  So wait: we too will wait with you."

53.  Say, "Spend willingly or unwillingly.  Not from you will it be accepted, for you are indeed a people rebellious and wicked."

(The Repentance 9:51-53)

Holiday

Hi there, my lovely Ladies!  How are you today?  How's it like to be so beautiful?  I wanna be pretty too!  I hope you are having tons of fun being you, and don't worry so much OK?  Things will turn out great for us inshaAllah.  I figured out the solution to the Mystery of the Missing Lunch.  Tomorrow is Labor Day here, so the locals took Monday and Tuesday off to celebrate Wednesday.  Which seems silly to me because the civil servants only have Wednesday off, but independent businesses take the day off whenever they feel like it.  For instance, this year's Eid al-Fitr is on a Wednesday, so the civil servants and the school kids will have 5 days off (Wednesday to Sunday) even though Eid al-Fitr is technically only one day.  But most locals celebrate 13 days of Eid al-Fitr, and if they own a business then they will be closed for 13 days.  I don't know why or who made up that tradition, I have to work every day, so it's all the same old day to me.  Does it all seem confusing to you?  People are insane!

The Mystery of the Missing Lunch

Hi there, my most Precious Ladies!  How are you feeling today?  I certainly hope those emotions are presented nicely and nicely in control.  Yeah it's a weird situation we have, but it is unique and special alhamdulillah.  So please be patient and nice, things are going to work out great for us inshaAllah.  I had a busy morning today.  I don't like busy mornings because they affect my singing during voice training, but what to do?  After doing chores then driving around paying bills and running errands, I got a haircut.  I hadn't eaten yet today, but I thought I would get lunch at Omar's on the way home.  But he was closed, which was strange to me because it was Monday lunch!  I had my heart set on lunch at Omar's, so I decided to just go home and cook something.  On the way home, there usually are lots of carts selling different foods on the side of the road, but today there was only one guy.  And it was Monday lunch!  I'm fussy about who I buy cooked meals from, so I went home and fried up an egg and a burger, put them between 2 slices of bread with some mayo, and that was lunch.

It's mango season again, and there is a local delicacy called "garam belacan".  It's a dip that's made of soy sauce, salt, sugar, chillies, and "belacan" (fermented shrimp paste).  It's normally eaten as a dip for sliced green mangoes, which are sour.  The dip is very sweet and spicy, so it makes a nice contrast.  Smelly, though.  I made some just now, but I guess I'll enjoy it after I get back from the mosque.

Big Mac

Hello there, my Lovely Ladies!  How are you feeling today?  I hope that life and the world are treating you nice and gently.  In Islam, the wife is to follow the instruction of the husband in matters of religion.  That way if she makes a mistake, then he is the one who shoulders the blame.  And if he make the mistake, then he gets the blame again.  We see a lot of religious zealots out there nowadays.  There are certainly "priests", "preachers", "learned ones" who profess to serve God but actually devour the substance of people, hoarding what they get, some of them even make money by conning people into becoming soldiers.  Allah knows what they do, and has prepared for them a grievous penalty.

Today I went to McDonald's for dinner, and I had a Big Mac.  Tastes like a Big Mac!  I like McDonald's food, it's easy on my tummy, but I know how to make sandwiches and burgers with bigger portions, and at a much lesser price.  Allah gave me some knowledge of cooking.  My Big Mac cost me 2.14 US dollars.

Not much going on

Hi Erin!  How's it going, Honey?  I'm sure you must be all sorts of excited, there must be lots going on over there with you.  Not much going on here for me.  A few mangoes and a cheeseburger for lunch, then some rice for dinner.  I chased away a big old monitor lizard from my yard!  They grow big around here.  I tried to run it over with the motorcycle, but it's not the same as in the movies.  Speaking of which, have you seen Avengers: Endgame yet?  Oh it's the weekend, so you must be busy with sports.  Well then, I have a couple of tasks to complete after this and after that I'll watch some YouTube.  I love you!
