Reality TV

Hi Erin!  How are you today, Sweetheart?  You're always the easy-going type.  I wonder if you have a new gang of friends than you did in NYC.  How's life in Chicago?  I once met the son of a famous Chicago sausage maker when I was still working at the pizza joint.  No, it wasn't Abe Froman.  It was Dickman, believe it or not.

Back then I had little privacy, but nowadays it isn't that unusual to be spied on.  It's annoying, but it's actually normal nowadays.  Whether it's right or not remains to be enforced.  Of course, some people are more interesting than others.  And with social media, it's actually become a necessity for those who bank on fame.  Bank on fame?  So where's the money?  Anyway, TV is not just the networks and cable anymore.  Internet has become TV, with privately produced video, and the networks and cable rely on Internet now for content.  When you try to define what reality TV is nowadays, you can't confine yourself to entities that are able to be contracted.  Anybody with a cell phone can provide a scoop, and then when it becomes viral...

Watch out for those people who try to create a situation for reality TV.  It could be for money, or it could be for fame/defame.  That's tough to prepare for, one can only ride such a situation out.  The best preparation is a psychic wall, where no one can tell what your emotions are.  The next best thing is silence.  One's best friend is God here, and God has helped me many times in making a plotted situation worthless to the plotters.  Alhamdulillah.  Don't let yourself be intimidated, though.  Take the challenge, and don't forget to pray.

Hi Natty!  So you're going to Bali to earn a yoga certificate?  I think yoga is just fine if strictly approached as merely a form of exercise to be done away from the Public Eye (I wish I could look great in a leotard).  But few would deny that it has its spiritual elements, the origins and philosophy of which are not Islam.  So it is my duty to remind you that I cannot be married to a non-Muslim.  Worse than that, Allah might present you with a nasty surprise.  I'm sure you witnessed a similar situation about a year and 4 months ago.  Please be aware of God.

I do have to admire your gall though, and I bet you are nervous as hell.  Indonesia is well aware of my mission mashaAllah, and while the country is mostly Islam, Bali is not.  So the Public Eye will take it as granted that whoever teaches you yoga will try to steer you towards their religion.  Therefore the solution is simple: do not forsake Allah at any time, and you will do just fine.  If you can keep your heart and intention straight, then you have my blessing.

Are you sure you want to go to Bali, Princess?  You could always get your yoga cert in NYC.  At least if God wills to test you, you would be on familiar ground.

Cat food

Hello there, my lovely Ladies!  How are you today?  How's business?  I hope everything is easy peasy for you, and that you are feeling absolutely great.  It's just another day here for me, doing the same old same old.  At least the weather has calmed down a little, that it's not so hot.  It's not so dry either, so I was able to do some burning today and get rid of the kindle that had been piling up.  Nothing special on the menu, either.  There hasn't been anything special on the menu for a while already, even now that I have some money to buy food.  I just eat out at my usual spots the general local fare.  Even when I went to the grocery store to buy food, I got chicken nuggets, fries, coffee, and cat food.  The girl gave me a dirty look and said, "Is it OK if I put this all in one bag?"  I guess that's my mood right lately.  I'm eating the human equivalent of cat food.
