Qur'an 20101027

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

20. Say,"I do no more than invoke my Lord, and I join not with God any."

21. Say, "It is not in my power to cause you harm, or to bring you to right conduct."

22. Say, "No one can deliver me from Allah, nor should I find refuge except in God."

23. Mine is only to convey what I receive from Allah and God's Messages. For any that disobey Allah and God's messenger, for them is hell, they shall dwell therein forever.

23. At length when they see that which they are promised, then will they know who it is that is weakest in helper, and least important in point of numbers.

24. Say, "I know not whether that which you are promised is near, or whether my Lord will appoint for it a distant term."

The Jinns 72:20-25

I do no more than invoke my Lord, and I join not with God any.

It is not in my power to cause you harm, or to bring you to right conduct.

No one can deliver me from Allah, nor should I find refuge except in God.

I know not whether that which you are promised is near, or whether my Lord will appoint for it a distant term.

Qur'an 20101008

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

21. Or who is there that can provide you with sustenance if God were to withhold God's provision? No, they obstinately persist in insolent impiety and flight.

22. Is then one who walks headlong, with his face groveling, better guided; or one who walks evenly on a straight way?

23. Say, "It is God who has created you, and made for you the faculties of hearing, seeing, feeling, and understanding. Little thanks it is you give."

24. Say, "It is God who has multiplied you through the earth, and to God shall you be gathered together."

25. They ask, "When will this promise be, if you are telling the truth?"

26. Say, "As to the knowledge of the time, it is with Allah alone. I am sent only to warn in public."

27. At length, when they see it close at hand, grieved will be the faces of the unbelievers, and it will be said, "This is which you were calling for!"

28. Say, "See you? If Allah were to destroy me and those with me, or if God bestows God's mercy on us, yet who can deliver the unbelievers from a grevious penalty?"

29. Say, "God is most Gracious. We have believed in God, and on God have we put our trust. So, soon will you know which it is that is in manifest error!"

30. Say, "See you? If your stream be some morning lost, who then can supply you with clear-flowing water?"

The Dominion 67:21-30
----------------------------------------------------------

It is God who has created you, and made for you the faculties of hearing, seeing, feeling, and understanding. Little thanks it is you give.

It is God who has multiplied you through the earth, and to God shall you be gathered together.

As to the knowledge of the time, it is with Allah alone. I am sent only to warn in public.

See you? If Allah were to destroy me and those with me, or if God bestows God's mercy on us, yet who can deliver the unbelievers from a grevious penalty?

See you? If your stream be some morning lost, who then can supply you with clear-flowing water?

Qur'an 20100925

In the name of Allah. most Gracious, most Merciful.

5. Has not the story reached you, of those who rejected Faith aforetime? So they tasted the evil result of their conduct, and they had a grievous Penalty.

6. That was because there came to them messengers with Clear Signs, but they said: "Shall human beings direct us?" So they rejected and turned away, but Allah can do without: and Allah is Free of all needs, Worthy of all praise.

7. The unbelievers think that they will not be raised up. Say, "Yea, by my Lord, you shall surely be raised up. Then you shall be told of all that you did, and that is easy for Allah."

The mutual loss and gain 64:7-9
------------------------------------------------------------------

Yea, by my Lord, you shall surely be raised up. Then you shall be told of all that you did, and that is easy for Allah.

Qur'an 20100920

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

5. The similitude of those who were charged with the Mosaic Law, but who subsequently failed in those, is that of a donkey which carries huge tomes. Evil is the similitude of people who falsify the Signs of Allah; and Allah guides not people who do wrong.

6. Say, "O you who stand on Judaism! If you think you are friends to Allah, to the exclusion of mankind, then express your desire for death, if you are truthful!"

7. But never will they express their desire, because of what their hands have sent on before them! And Allah knows well those who do wrong!

8. Say, "The death from which you flee will truly overtake you. Then will you be sent back to the Knower of things secret and open, and God will tell you the things that you did!"

9. O you who believe! When prayer is proclaimed on Friday, hasten earnestly to the Remembrance of Allah and leave off business. That is best for you, if you only knew!

10. And when the prayer is finished, then you may disperse through the land, and seek of the Bounty of Allah often, that you may prosper!

11. But when they see some bargain or some amusement, they disperse headlong to it, and leave thee standing. Say, "That from the Presence of Allah is better than any amusement or bargain! And Allah is the Best to provide!"

Friday 62:5-11
---------------------------------------------------------
O you who stand on Judaism! If you think you are friends to Allah, to the exclusion of mankind, then express your desire for death, if you are truthful!

The death from which you flee will truly overtake you. Then will you be sent back to the Knower of things secret and open, and God will tell you the things that you did!

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

30. Or do they say, "A poet! We await for him some calamity by time!"

31. Say you, "Await you! I too will wait along with you!"

32. Is it that their faculties of understanding urge them to this, or are they but a people transgressing beyond bounds?

33. Or do they say, "He fabricated this?" No, they have no faith!

34. Let them produce a recital like unto it, if they speak the truth!

The Mountain 52:30-34

Qur'an 20100720

n the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

13. O mankind! We created you from of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other. Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you, and Allah has full knowledge, and is well acquainted.

14. The Arabs say, "We believe." Say, "You have no faith, but you say, 'We have submitted our wills to Allah,' for not yet has Faith entered your hearts. But if you obey Allah and God's Messenger, God will not belittle aught of your deeds, for Allah is Oft-forgiving, most Merciful."

15. Only those are Believers who have believed in Allah and God's Messenger, and have never since doubted, but have striven with their belongings and their persons in the Cause of Allah: such are the sincere ones.

16. Say, "What! Will you instruct Allah about your religion? But Allah knows all that is in the heavens and on earth. Allah has full knowledge of all things."

17. They impress on you as a favor that they have embraced Islam. Say, "Count not your Islam as a favor upon me. No, Allah has conferred a favor upon you that God has guided you to the Faith, if you be true and sincere."

18. Verily Allah knows the secrets of the heavens and the earth, and Allah sees well all that you do.

The Chambers 49:13-18
------------------------------------------------------

You have no faith, but you say, "We have submitted our wills to Allah," for not yet has Faith entered your hearts. But if you obey Allah and God's Messenger, God will not belittle aught of your deeds, for Allah is Oft-forgiving, most Merciful.

What! Will you instruct Allah about your religion? But Allah knows all that is in the heavens and on earth. Allah has full knowledge of all things.

Qur'an 20100715

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

15. Those who lagged behind: "When you march and take booty, permit us to follow you." They wish to change Allah's decree. Say, "Not thus will you follow us. Allah has already declared beforehand." Then they will say, "But you are jealous of us!" No, but little do they understand.

16. Say to the Arabs who lagged behind, "You shall be summoned to fight against a people given to vehement war. Then shall you fight, or they shall submit. Then if you show obedience, Allah will grant you a goodly reward, but if you turn back as you did before, God will punish you with a Grievous Penalty."

17. No blame is there on the blind, nor is there blame on the lame, nor on one ill. But he that obeys Allah and God's Messenger.... Will admit him to Gardens beneath which rivers flow. And he who turns back.... Will punish him with a Grievous Penalty.

The Victory 48:15-17
-------------------------------------------------------

Not thus will you follow us. Allah has already declared beforehand.

You shall be summoned to fight against a people given to vehement war. Then shall you fight, or they shall submit. Then if you show obedience, Allah will grant you a goodly reward, but if you turn back as you did before.... Will punish you with a Grievous Penalty.

Qur'an 20100714

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

11. The Arabs who lagged behind will say to you, "We were engaged in our flocks and herds, and our families, do you then ask forgiveness for us?" They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say, "Who then has any power in your behalf with Allah, if God's Will is to give you some loss, or to give you some profit? But Allah is well acquainted with all that you do."

12. No, you thought that the messenger and the believers would never return to their families. This seemed pleasing to your hearts, and you conceived an evil thought, for you are a people lost.

13. And if any believe not in Allah and God's messenger, We have prepared for the unbelievers, a blazing Fire!

14. To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. God forgives whom God wills, and God punishes whom God wills; but Allah is Oft-Forgiving, most Merciful.

The Victory 48:11-14
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Who then has any power in your behalf with Allah, if God's Will is to give you some loss, or to give you some profit? But Allah is well acquainted with all that you do.

Qur'an 20100701

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

2. The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom.

3. We created not the heavens and the earth, and all between them but for just ends, and for a term appointed. But those who reject Faith turn away from that whereof they are warned.

4. Say, "Do you see what it is you invoke besides Allah? Show me what it is they have created on earth, or have they a share in the heavens? Bring me a Book before this, or any remnant of knowledge, if you are telling the truth!"

5. And who is more astray than one who invokes, besides Allah, such as will not answer him on the Day of Judgment, and who are unconscious of their call?

6. And when mankind are gathered together, they will be hostile to them, and reject their worship.

7. When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, the unbelievers say of the Truth when it comes to them, "This is nothing but evident sorcery!"

8. Or do they say, "He has forged it"? Say, "Had I forged it, then can you obtain nothing for me from Allah. God knows best whereof you talk! Enough is God for a witness between me and you! And God is Oft-Forgiving, most Merciful."

9. Say, "I am no bringer of new-fangled doctrine among the messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me, or with you. I follow that which is revealed to me by inspiration. I am but a Warner, open and clear."

10. Say, "Don't you see? If this be from Allah, and you reject it, and a witness from among the Children of Israel testifies to its similarity, and has believed while you are arrogant. Truly, Allah guides not a people unjust."

Winding sand-tracts 46:2-10

Qur'an 20100629

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

22. Allah created the heavens and the earth for just ends, and in order that each soul may find the recompense of
what it has earned, and none of them be wronged.

23. Then can you see such a one that takes as his god his own vain desire? Allah has knowingly left him astray, and
sealed his hearing and his heart, and put a cover on his sight. Who then, will guide him after Allah? Will you not then
receive admonition?

24. And they say, "What is there but the life of this world? We shall die and we live, and nothing but time can destroy
us." But of that they have no knowledge: they merely conjecture.

25. And when Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, their argument is nothing but this: they say, "Bring our
forefathers, if what you say is true!"

26. Say, "It is Allah who gives you life, then gives you death. Then God will gather you together for the Day of
Judgement about which there is no doubt." But most humans do not understand.

The Kneeling Down 45:22-26
------------------------------------------------------------------

It is Allah who gives you life, then gives you death. Then God will gather you together for the Day of Judgement about
which there is no doubt.

Qur'an 20100619

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

78. Verily We have brought the Truth to you, but most of you have a hatred for Truth.

79. What? Have they settled some plan? But it is We who settle things.

80. Or do they think that We hear not their secrets, and their private counsels? Indeed! And Our messengers are by them, to record.

81. Say, "If the Most Gracious had a son, I would be first to worship."

The Gold Adornments 43:78-81
-------------------------------------------------------------

If the Most Gracious had a son, I would be first to worship.

Qur'an 20100606

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

20. To any that desires the tilth of the Hereafter, We give increase in his tilth, and to any that desires the tilth of this world, We grant somewhat thereof, but he has no share or lot in the Hereafter.

21. What! Have they partners who have established for them some religion without the permission of Allah? Had it not been for the Decree of Judgement, the matter would have been decided between them. But verily the wrongdoers will have a grievous Penalty.

22. You will see the wrongdoers in fear on account of what they have earned, and that must fall on them. But those who believe, and work righteous deeds will be in the luxurious meads of the Garden. They shall have from their Lord, all that they wish for. That will indeed be the magnificent bounty.

23. That is whereof Allah gives Glad Tidings to God's servants who believe and do righteous deeds. Say, "No reward do I ask of you for this except the love of those near of kin." And if anyone earns any good, We shall give him an increase in good thereof, for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, most Ready to Appreciate.

24. What! Do they say, "He has forged a falsehood against Allah?" But if Allah willed, God could seal up your heart, and Allah blots out vanity, and proves the Truth by God's Words, for God knows well the secrets of all hearts.

25. God is the One who accepts repentance from God's servants, and forgives sins, and God knows all that you do.

Consultation 42:20-25
-------------------------------------------------------------
No reward do I ask of you for this except the love of those near of kin.

Qur'an 20100605

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

14. And they became divided only after knowledge had reached them, through selfish envy as between themselves. Had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord to a term appointed, the matter would have been settled between them. But truly those who have inherited the Book after them are in suspicious doubt concerning it.

15. Now then for that, call and stand steadfast as you are commanded, nor follow you their vain desires but say, "I believe in the Book which Allah has sent down, and I am commanded to judge justly between you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord: for us our deeds, and for you for your deeds. There is no contention between us and you. Allah will bring us together, and to God is Final Goal."

16. But those who dispute concerning Allah after God had been accepted, futile is their dispute in the sight of their Lord. On them is Wrath, and for them will be a Penalty Terrible.

17. It is Allah Who has sent down the Book in Truth, and the Balance: and what will make you realise that the Hour is close at hand?

18. Only those wish to hasten it who believe not in it. Those who believe hold it in awe, and know that it is the Truth. Behold, verily those that dispute concerning the Hour are far astray.

Consultation 42:14-18
-----------------------------------------------------------------

I believe in the Book which Allah has sent down, and I am commanded to judge justly between you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord: for us our deeds, and for you for your deeds. There is no contention between us and you. Allah will bring us together, and to God is Final Goal.

52. Say, "See you, if this IS from Allah, and yet do you reject it? Who is more astray than one who is in a schism, far?"

53. Soon will We show them Our Signs in the regions, and in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth. Is it not enough that your Lord is witness to all things?

54. Ah indeed! Are they in doubt concerning the Meeting with their Lord? Ah indeed! It is God that does encompass all things!

Expounded 41:52-54

Qur'an 20100531

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

44. Had We sent this as a Qur'an other than Arabic, they would have said, "Why are not its verses explained in detail? What! Not in Arabic for an Arab?" Say, "It is a guide and a healing to those who believe, and for those who believe not, there is a deafness in their ears, and it is blindness in them. They are being called from a place far distant!"

Expounded 41:44
----------------------------------------------------------

It is a guide and a healing to those who believe, and for those who believe not, there is a deafness in their ears, and it is blindness in them. They are being called from a place far distant!

Qur'an 20100526

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

2. A revelation from the most Gracious, most Merciful.

3. A Book, from which the verses are explained in detail- a Qur'an in Arabic, for people who understand.

4. Giving Good News and Admonition. Yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not.

5. They say, "Our hearts are under veils from that to which you do invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and you is a screen. So you do what you do, we'll do what we do".

6. Say you, "I am but a man like you. It is revealed to me by inspiration that your God is One God. So stand true to God, and ask for God's forgiveness. And woe to those who join gods with Allah."

7. Those who practise not regular charity, and even deny the Hereafter.

8. For those who believe, and work deeds of righteousness, is a reward that will never fail.

9. Say, "Is it that you deny God who created the earth in 2 Days? And do you join equals with God? God is the Lord of the worlds."

10. God set on it mountains standing firm, high above it, and bestowed blessings on the earth, and measured therein all things to give them nourishment in due proportion, in 4 Days, in accordance with those who seek.

11. Moreover, God comprehended in God's design the sky, and it had been smoke. God said to it and the earth, "Come you together, willingly or unwillingly." They said, "We do come, in willing obedience."

12. So God completed them as 7 firmaments in 2 Days, and God assigned to each heaven its duty and command. And We adorned the lower heaven with lights, and with guard. Such is the Decree of the Exalted in Might, Full of Knowledge.

13. But if they turn away say you, "I have warned you of a stunning Punishment, like that of the 'Ad, and the Thamud!"

Expounded 41:2-13
--------------------------------------------------------

I am but a man like you. It is revealed to me by inspiration that your God is One God. So stand true to God, and ask for God's forgiveness. And woe to those who join gods with Allah.

Is it that you deny God who created the earth in 2 Days? And do you join equals with God? God is the Lord of the worlds.

I have warned you of a stunning Punishment, like that of the 'Ad, and the Thamud!

(Verse 9 is 2 Days. Verse 10 is 4 Days. 2 + 4 = 6 Days. Verse 11 and 12 are "also" clauses- God made the sky at the same time. God fit those 2 Days within the 6 Days.)

64. It is Allah who has made for you the earth as a resting place, and the sky as
a canopy, and has given you shape, and made your shapes beautiful, and has provided for you Sustenance, of things pure and good. Such is Allah your Lord. So Glory to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.

65. God is the Living: there is no god but God. Call upon God, giving God sincere devotion. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds!

66. Say, "I have been forbidden to invoke those whom you invoke besides Allah, seeing that the Clear Signs have come to me from my Lord. And I have been commanded to bow to the Lord of the Worlds!"

Qur'an 20100508

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

39. Say, "O my people! Do whatever you can. I will do. But soon will you know."

40. Who it is to whom comes a penalty of ignominy, and on whom descends a penalty that abides.

41. Verily We have revealed the Book to you in Truth, for humans. He then that receives guidance benefits his own soul, but he that strays injures his own soul. Nor are you set over them to dispose of their affairs.

42. It is Allah that takes the souls at death, and those that die not, during their sleep. Those on whom God has passed the decree of death, God keeps back. But the rest God sends for a term appointed. Verily in this are Signs for those who reflect.

43. What... do they take for intercessors other than Allah? Say, "Even if they have no power whatsoever, and no intelligence?"

44. Say, "To Allah belongs exclusively intercession. To God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. In the end, it is to God that you shall be brought back."

45. When Allah, the One and Only, is mentioned, the hearts of those who believe not in the Hereafter are filled with disgust and horror, but when gods other than God are mentioned, behold they are filled with joy!

46. Say, "O Allah! Creator of the heavens and the earth! Knower of all that is hidden and open! It is You that will judge between Your servants in those matters about which they have differed."

47. Even if the wrongdoers had all that there is on earth, and as much more, would they offer it for ransom from the pain of the Penalty on the Day of Judgement, but something will confront them from Allah which they could never have counted upon!

48. For the evils of their deeds will confront them, and they will be encircled by that which they used to mock at!

49. Now when trouble touches man, he cries to Us: but when We bestow a favor upon him as from Ourselves, he says, "This has been given to me because of a certain knowledge." Nay, but this is a trial, but most of them understand not!

50. Thus did those before them say! But all that they did was of no profit to them.

51. No, the evil results of their deeds overtook them, and the wrongdoers of this- the evil results of their deeds will soon overtake them, and they will never be able to frustrate!

Crowds 39:39-51
----------------------------------------------------------

O my people! Do whatever you can. I will do. But soon will you know.

Even if they have no power whatsoever, and no intelligence?

To Allah belongs exclusively intercession. To God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. In the end, it is to God that you shall be brought back.

O Allah! Creator of the heavens and the earth! Knower of all that is hidden and open! It is You that will judge between Your servants in those matters about which they have differed.

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

38. If indeed you ask them who it is that created the heavens and the earth, they would be sure to say, "Allah." Say, "Then, do you see the things that you invoke besides Allah? Qur'an 20100504

In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

8. When some trouble touches man, he cries unto his Lord, turning to God in repentance. But when God bestows a favor as from Godself, does he forget what he cried and prayed for before, and he sets up rivals unto Allah, thus misleading others from God's path. Say, "Enjoy your blasphemy for a little while. Verily you are of the Companions of the Fire."

9. Is one who worships devoutly during the hours of the night, prostrating himself or standing, who takes heed of the Hereafter, and who places his hope in the mercy of his Lord? Say, "Are those equal, those who know, and those who do not know? It is those who are endued with understanding that receive admonition."

10. Say, "O you servants who believe! Fear your Lord! Good is for those who do good in this world. Spacious is Allah's earth! Those who patiently persevere will truly receive a reward without measure."

11. Say, "Verily I am commanded to serve Allah with sincere devotion."

16. Say, "Running away will not profit you if you are running away from death or slaughter, and even if, no more than a respite will you be allowed to enjoy!"

17. Say, "Who is it that can screen you from Allah if it be God's wish to give you punishment, or to give you mercy?" Nor will they find for themselves, besides Allah, any protector or helper.

18. Verily Allah knows those among you who keep back, and those who say to their brethren, "Come along to us," but come not to the fight except for just a little while.

19. Covetous over you. Then when fear comes, you will see them looking at you, their eyes revolving like one over whom hovers death. In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful.

49. Nay, here are Signs self-evident in the hearts of those endowed with knowledge, and none but the unjust reject Our Signs.

50. Yet they say, "Why are not Signs sent down to him from his Lord?" Say: "The Signs are indeed with Allah, and I am indeed a clear warner."

51. And is it not enough for them that We sent down to you the Book which is rehearsed to them? Verily, in it is Mercy and a Reminder to those who believe.

52. Say: "Enough is Allah for a Witness between me and you: God knows what is in the heavens and on earth, and it is those who believe in vanities and reject Allah, that will perish."

53. They ask you to hasten on the Punishment: had it not been for a term appointed, the Punishment would certainly have come to them, and it will certainly reach them- of a sudden, while they perceive not!

54. They ask you to hasten on the Punishment: but of a surety, hell will encompass the rejecters of Faith!

55. On the Day that the Punishment shall cover them from above them and from below them, and shall say: "Taste you of your deeds!"

56. O My servants who believe! Truly spacious is My Earth, therefore serve you Me!

57. Every soul shall have a taste of death: in the end to Us shall you be brought back.

58. But those who believe, and work deeds of righteousness- to them shall We give a Home in Heaven: lofty mansions which flow rivers, to dwell therein for aye- an excellent reward for those who do!

59. Those who persevere in patience, and put their trust in their Lord and Cherisher.

60. How many are the creatures that carry not their own sustenance? It is Allah who feeds them and you, for God hears and knows.

61. If indeed you ask them who has created the heavens and the earth, and subjected the sun and the moon, they will certainly reply, "Allah". How are they then deluded away?

62. Allah enlarges the sustenance to whichever of God's servants God pleases: and God grants by measure, for Allah has full knowledge of all things.

63. And if indeed you ask them who it is that sends down rain from the sky, and gives life therewith to the earth after its death, they will certainly reply, "Allah!" Say: "Praise be to Allah!" but most of them understand not.

45. Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to you, and establish regular prayer, for prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds. And rememberance of Allah is the greatest, without doubt. And Allah knows what you do.

46. And dispute you not with the people of the Book except with means better, unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong. But say, "We believe in the Revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you: our God and your God is One, and it is to God we bow".

49. Say, "Then bring you a Book from Allah which is a better Guide than either of them, that I may follow it, if you are truthful!"
